Amarantha Van der Griest |

Ama will keep a safe distance behind Hemket staying invisible
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

GM Pox |

Hemket makes just a few steps in when his trapdar goes off.. His perception is high enough to tell that there's a trap ahead.
You also notice a wierd phrase standing out in the hieroglyphs.. A message seems to be missing the final phrase.. It reads.
“Those who gave the gift of uncompromised service to the Sky Pharaoh are known to him and blessed with _____."
You think that disarming the trap is possible, but difficult.
Give another Perc Hemket..

Hemket |

"Everyone stop. Something here is a touch scary. I read the old glyph for death on the floor and I'm certain it is a trap. Let me try to disarm it. "
disable device: 1d20 + 36 ⇒ (11) + 36 = 47

GM Pox |

Although the trap was a tough one, Hemket is easily able to disarm it. Afterwards a lightbulb comes on and perhaps just reading the phrase with death as the missing word might have disarmed it as well..
At the end of the hall you can go north or south. Marching order?

Hemket |

While normally I'm OK with scouting ahead a bit, too many undead have lifesense which makes stealth useless for me to want to do that. Probably best if we just move as a pack.

GM Pox |

That's fine, I just need to know who's going first.. Or the first two if your going side by side.

Logos The Mad |

Logos will go first, with Hemket right behind him to look for traps. Basically, Logos will be the body guard. Given his large size, he fills up the hallway and can block access to the others.

Arduino the Lesser |

Yeah; Logos first, Hemket and Hadjii second, me and Amarantha third, and Kin bringing up the rear.
"Fine work, all." He pets Kin's neck-feathers. He suggests taking the 1d2 ⇒ 2 southern passage when the crossing up ahead comes up.

Hadjii |

with Jack in play, Hadjii the air elemental prefers to be near the back -- and Jack is very last, often 10'-20' behind the group (as he stops to sniff things...); it requires Hadjii's constant effort to control the big wolf!

GM Pox |

The group heads south and as Logos/Hemket come around the corner they see.
"The floor of this hall is tiled in highly polished mosaics of the sun surrounded by hieroglyphs. More mosaics curl up along the walls toward the ceiling."
There is a door at the other end of the hallway..

Arduino the Lesser |

Detect magic, I ask someone to roll Perception.

Logos The Mad |

Perception: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (8) + 20 = 28

Arduino the Lesser |

Arduino gestures for the party to advance.

GM Pox |

Once you reach the end of the hallway the floor drops out beneath you and had you not had a fly spell still active you would have surely plummeted 500' to your death.. The door is fake..

Logos The Mad |

"Seems like it's back the other way then."

Arduino the Lesser |

Arduino blinks. "...close one!"
He heads with the group in the other direction.

Logos The Mad |

"Meh, your bird would have saved you."

GM Pox |

There is a distint beeping noise as the train on animal companions and summoned beasties back up the hallway. The lead of the group heads north and qickly comes to an intersection.. Too the west you see a small room..
"A life-sized stone statue of a resplendent Osirian woman dressed in lamellar armor with a khopesh at her side, her hands resting at her hips, stands at the far end of this otherwise empty chamber."
The loot from the mummies included magic armor and weapons that you don't care about and a large serpent fang that looks like a dagger.. After inspecting it though you think it's so sort of magical key.
Heading east you see..
"The passageway here shifts from worked stone to a strange, curving tunnel that shifts and coils into the darkness. The point at which the architecture changes from regular angles to this more organic shape is bordered by an archway carved in the shape of a gaping serpent’s mouth. Three of the serpent’s teeth—one on the lower jaw, one in the back of the upper jaw, and what should be a fang at the front of the upper jaw, are missing; deep circular sockets mark their original locations."

Logos The Mad |

Logos hefts the magic fang they found earlier. "Anyone wanna put gold on whether this fits in one of them?" He compares it to the three holes, trying to see if it obviously fits one of them better than the other two.
Perception: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (7) + 20 = 27

Hadjii |

Hadjii is busy preventing Jack from doing anything other than sniffing at the statue of the woman...
"Sniff all you want, but nothing else!"
the wolf seems only moderately interested in obeying commands from an air elemental.
Hadjii calls out:
"From what we've seen of this funhouse, I wouldn't be surprised if the reward for completing the set of fangs is simply being chomped and poisoned!"

GM Pox |

At this point Hadjii your air elementals are unsummoned. They last 12 rounds right? And as the group is contemplating placing the dfang into one of the sockets time stops around you all. A being of immense power appears before you. It's not hard to recognize the being as the god Anubis.. By sheer will you are able to keep standing as he addresses you all in a powerful voice.
"I have come to claim Logos for another task. In his stead Khufukhaf he will help you. Good luck to you all."
the god and Logos vanish leaving a new comer standing where Logos just was..
You each recieve a blessing from the god's prescence.. For the next hour all d20's rolls have +2 bonus..
Que another newcomer! Hopefully our last one.
Also, it does appear that the fang you have will fit the sockets.. Just tell me which one you wish to try after introductions.. Might wanna give a description Khufu..

GM Arkwright |

Arduino blinks. "...huh. Hrm... I... huh." Scratching his head, he bends down and absent-mindedly stokes Kin under her neck. "So... the gods are wrapped up in this? And that was Anubis, one of those ancient Osirion gods...? So... there might be another ancient god behind Hakotep? Huh."
After another minute of thinking time, he stands up and turns to the new arrival. "Erm, sorry about that. You... make quite an entrance. Arduino, son of Arduino and about twenty others before him... a pleasure to meet you aboard our crusade." He gestures to the pyramid surrounding him. "Are you... aware of our task? Our... setting?"

Amarantha Van der Griest |

First a flying pyramid and now a god deigns to appear before us. I really should have come to Wati earlier
Ama says, she then addresses our new arrival
A pleasure to meet you good sir, I am Amarantha recently arrived from ustalav

Khufukhaf |

Khufukhay seems startled to be in this place.
"Greetings ... I am Khufukhaf, herald of Anubis. I do not know how I came to this place .... before I was ... elsewhere." he says in an Osirian accent.
He seems to be tall, muscular human wearing the ceremonial armor of his deity.
The skin that is apparent through the gaps in his armor appears to be stone, as if he was a statue brought to life.

Arduino the Lesser |

"Ah. Well... to be brief."
"We are in a flying pyramid above Osirion. The pyramid belongs to an ancient tyrannical pharoah named Hakotep who is rather keen on returning, and whom we are currently in the process of thwarting... but for the moment, we need to disable this flying structure before it causes any harm?"
He looks around everyone else with a bland smile. "I don't believe I've missed anything of import...?"

GM Pox |

Sry for the abrupt entrance, but I figured it to be the easiest way in bring you in.. Being a herald apparently has its perks..
The only thing I would add is that this isn't Hakotep's pyramid..
Yall might wanna give a quick description as well, so Khufu has an idea of who he's working with..

Amarantha Van der Griest |

With her stature and build, slight yet still femininely curvy, she would seem not only somewhat delicate but harmless were it not for the slight chill that seems to surround her, pricking the goose flesh of those nearby and the occasional aura of menace that arises from time to time, usually when she is angered, accompanied by objects being knocked over or thrown around seemingly by nothing.
Amarantha favors, filmy robes of light gauzy materials for day to day adorned with red roses on a white background. However should it be needed, Amarantha has no qualms about donning armor and shield.
A beautiful young woman with an unnerving gaze, both ancient and piercing, one cannot help feeling both drawn and uneasy in her presence.

Arduino the Lesser |

By 'belong' I meant that he owns it, not that it's his own burial pyramid, sorry for not being clear enough.
Khuf finds himself faced with a young thin brown-haired male Avistani without armor but with a crude kheffiyeh, smiling as he strokes the large tawny roc garbed with saddle and magical items at his feet..

Hadjii |

Hadjii currently looks like a medium-sized air elemental; the big wolf next to the elemental seems to take direction from it...
the air elemental replies to Khufu in Osirian:
"Welcome to our quest, Khufu! So you have been chosen by Anubis to protect us: Logos has left some rather large shoes to fill -- oh, yes! You do indeed look very protective, though. It is most fortunate for you to have this stony form -- we seem destined to continue encountering many perils! I am Hadjii, a wolf shaman who wound up in Wati several years ago. You will meet my human form soon enough. This fine canine is Jack. I certainly hope you like animals..."
there is a definite hint of Vudrani accent mixed with his osirian speech...

GM Pox |

Hemket sets the fang and the other two slots close. The tunnel you are standing in begins to rumble and it feels like it's moving.. A few momnets later the far end of the tunnel opens up to reveal a passageway beyond..
Moving up you find yourselves in a long hallway.
This hallway exits the stone walls of the tomb, becoming a ten-foot wide catwalk suspended high above the ground in the open air. The sky above twinkles with a panoply of stars, while wispy clouds move swiftly over a darkened world below. Approximately a hundred feet away, an opening in space seems to lead through a hole in the sky back into the pyramid.
You think there might be doors midway to the north and south..
As enter you see something sketched in the wall..
“Those who serve him have nothing to fear, for even the sky bends to his will.”
Map updated. Yall are on the bottom right map now.

Amarantha Van der Griest |

Ama stays in the middle of the group invisible ready to assist

GM Pox |

No traps.. When you open the dorr you see.
A mosaic of colored glass fragments stretches across this room’s far wall. What appear to be flickering beams of sunlight filter through the glass, sending tiny beams of colored light through the room. The mosaic depicts a menagerie of different animals, each regally posed as though standing guard.

Hadjii |

Hadjii watches to the rear, frequently glancing past his big wolf pal to see if anything is coming up from behind. Jack is sniffing everything there is to sniff (of course) as a he lollygags along in trail of the party...

Arduino the Lesser |

Arduino scans the southern room for magic and if he finds nothing, opens the northern door.

GM Pox |

You see nothing else of note in the room Hemket. While you are checking the northern door Ard steps over for a peek at the southern room and is greeted with a strong necromantic aura coming from the mosaic glass.
The northern door is not trapped.. Once opened you see..
"This circular chamber encloses a small square vault made of black stone. An open archway leads inside this vault, which contains a sealed sarcophagus."
