Wenona Ordescu |

Yasu draws another javelin-like arrow and pulls back, the muscles on his arms bulging and rippling unnaturally with the exertion. The one engaged with the illusory lion seems to be distracted, so he turns on the one attacking his only 'friend' in the city.
[dice=Greatbow Shot]1d20+5+1+1 (Bless and PBS)
[dice=Damage]2d6+3+1His arrow nails the goblin to the ground, impaling it before Laufey's feet. The arrow quivers loudly with halted force.
Yay! I feel helpful! Just can't wait till I get gravity bow...
It was an easy hit regardless, but don't forget about the -4 for shooting into melee.
Sorry. With my IRL group, I almost always end up being the person running the game, so I am prone to occasional backseat DMing... >_>

Yasu the Blue Hood |

oh dangit! I forgot i didnt get precise shot yet! D'oh! Thanks for catching that.

Laufey Gemshrike |

The startling events continue as the goblin harassing Laufey is hit by an oversized arrow that not only skewers it, but knocks it to the ground with the force of it's impact. She had barely recovered from her first swing at it.
Must be the hooded man.
Only one target remains so Laufey rushes the goblin who is faced off against the lion.
The gnome is a witch, and he must have summoned it to fight with us. I hope.
Carefully avoiding crossing or contacting the lion, Laufey edges in and delivers a chop downward from over her head.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

I was going to mention that anyway, Wenona, so no worries. Just try to keep it to a minimum. I am going to take a little liberty with altering your movement, since the Goblin you would have attacked is technically dead before your turn.
Laufey, I shifted your movement off to the side, since you were looking to avoid crossing the "lion's" path. Coincidentally, I gave you flanking (not that you needed it).
Drawing another of his massive arrows, Yasu targets the Goblin attacking Laufey, impaling the creature to the ground, while Wenona circles around to the Goblin distracted by the lion, missing with another sweep of her scythe. Laufey, no longer threatened by the goblin, moves to the one menaced by the lion and, with a vicious overhand swing, cleaves the Goblin in twain, both halves falling to the ground with a thud. Dead
With these goblins defeated, you are able to take the time to look around and see what is happening. Smoke rises above the rooftops in other parts of the city, and you hear the singing and laughing of goblins as they run about causing mayhem, and indiscriminately slashing everything in sight. Truly, chaos has broken loose within the town of Sandpoint.
Take a little breather. Just don't relax too much...

Yasu the Blue Hood |

Yasu pulls another arrow but doesn't draw tension on the bow. He looks around, his silver wolf's mask flashing in the light.
"Everyone alive?!" he shouts, looking over the others who remained and fought. "If you're a civilian get inside and lock your doors and windows!"
He moves closer to the other notably competent fighters. "I don't know who most of you are, but we need to stick together and watch each other's backs. Goblins prefer to ambush or outnumber their enemies. We don't want that to happen to us."
I would surmise that much information is common knowledge to Sandpoint natives, who have periodic goblin problems. If needed I can do a relevant knowledge check.

Rasmorn Nikas Nesvyn |

Rasmorn stands still for a moment, blinking a little, at the sight of a goblin being split down the middle. He looks at Laufey with a grin and a quick nod. "Nice work on that one" (Took her a second to get going, but she packs quite a punch it would seem.)
The gnome then dismisses his illusion with a wave of the hand, and goes to join the others. Looking at the man in the silver wolf's mask (I remember him from the Lighthouse Smash! Lucky for us his aim is better with a bow than a catapult), Rasmorn nods his head in agreement. "Sticking together would be good. When the one stopped to pick something up, his friend got after him, saying they were supposed to kill people before doing any looting. Sounds like they might be under orders."
Looking over at Talia, he says "That was quite the quick shot back there! Fast as I remember. Are you alright? I saw one of them got you."

Wenona Ordescu |

Wenona quickly jogs back towards the rest of makeshift group of goblin slayers.
"Hey, none of us died!", she exclaims with a wry smile. "Looks like a couple of nasty cuts, though. Ugh, what awful little monsters."
She scans the skyline of the town, seeing the smoke billowing from various other points, and her smile fades to a concerned grimace. "It looks like this isn't over. Perhaps we should try to connect with the town guard? They probably need all the sword arms they can get."

Rasmorn Nikas Nesvyn |

Rasmorn smiles at the woman's exclamation of success. "Indeed, that was some fine fighting. Was that a scythe you were using? That was fantastic."
Looking more closely at the tall woman, he adds "I don't believe we've met; seems you should know the names of people you fight monsters with. My name is Rasmorn Nikas Nesvyn von Natterhorn."

Isabella Monstrance |

Once everyone has gathered close, Isabella holds her blue wooden disc in her hands and closes her eyes. She lets out a deep breath and with it comes a wave of refreshing grace.
Channel energy: Heal: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Laufey Gemshrike |

After cutting down the goblin, Laufey backs away from the lion. When it vanishes she relaxes and tears a long strip off the bottom of her shirt, using it as a makeshift bandage to wrap the cut on her thigh.
She gathers with the others, frowning slightly. "Is this strange? Are goblins so suicidal? They can sting, but they are small and die easily."
Looking about she adds "Why does everyone run? Surely the people here are prepared to handle such things as this? Is nobody armed?"

Isabella Monstrance |

Isabella shows her dagger before sheathing it in response to Laufey's question. "Usually they can't get past the outside walls," she says.

Rasmorn Nikas Nesvyn |

"Since it sounds like there are more of the beasts around, we best be prepared."
Rasmorn pulls a scroll out of his scroll case and casts it. CL1 Mage Armor on himself.
"Does anyone else need to make any preparations? If not, I agree that we should go try to assist the guards, or whomever else might be in trouble from this lot."

Talia Burrows |

Talia is searching the bodies just in case they have anything useful or something that gives any clues as to why they are attacking.
"Thank you." She nods to Isabella when she feels her wound healing somewhat.
"Goblins are always nasty pests. How they got inside the walls can wait until they've been dealt with." Making sure her crossbow is loaded she joins everybody, ready to continue.

Wenona Ordescu |

Wenona nods with a smile towards Rasmorn and replies: "A pleasure to meet you, Mr. von Natterhorn."
Sweeping a wave from the gnome to the rest of the group, she introduces herself: "Wenona Ordescu. Looks like I picked an exciting time to visit."

Yasu the Blue Hood |

"I'm the blue hood." Yasu offers. "Yasu to friends. Those goblins are hard targets to pin down, but if you can hit them they're not that bad."
He starts to move towards the loudest sounds of fighting, but stops when he realizes the others haven't moved. "I... want to go help the rest of Sandpoint... anyone with me?"

Isabella Monstrance |

Isabella wrings her hands for a moment, and says, "I uh... I wasn't prepared for fighting... um, I'll try to help anyway! But I don't have any armor or anything with me."

Yasu the Blue Hood |

He gives the worried woman a curious look. "I understand. Stay by me then. I'll keep them off of you."
He nods to Laufey. "We go that way." he says, gesturing with his head as he turns and moves cautiously down the road.

Rasmorn Nikas Nesvyn |

"Wenona, Yasu, pleasure to meet you both, though I do wish it was under happier circumstances. By all means, let us go help."
Looking at Isabella, Rasmorn adds "I do have another scroll of mage armor; I don't know how it compares to your regular armor, but it would be better than nothing. Would you like me to cast it on you?"

Isabella Monstrance |

"No, I'll just try to stay out of the way of danger," says Isabella. "Thank you, though."

Wenona Ordescu |

"That direction seems as good as any." Wenona states ambivalently in response to Yasu.
Addressing Laufey: "You look like you're doing a bit better. How about the two of us take point?"

Talia Burrows |

Talia follows close behind the leaders, keeping an eye out for any Goblins, or other unpleasant types.
Turning to Isabella. "Where do you live? Perhaps we can make for it and get you equipped as we move."

Isabella Monstrance |

"All the way on the south side, by the harbor, at Hannah's. We can't risk taking the time! We should find the rest of these goblins and deal with them."

GM Phntm888 |

As you establish your plan of action and prepare to defend the town form this incursion, you suddenly feel a blast of heat coming from behind you and hear loud, raucous, high-pitched laughter. Turning, you see another group of Goblins that appears to have set the cart full of wood for the bonfire tonight on fire. Upon seeing you, they shout with glee, and some grab burning pieces of wood to use as clubs.

It is still in effect. Talia, don't forget that if you act before the enemy does on the first round of a combat, you get sneak attack damage.
Moving quickly, Talia dashes towards a clear firing lane and fires her crossbow, catching one of the goblins in a shoulder.
The Warchanter begins singing that Goblin song, but it seems to have an invigorating effect on the Goblins, making them more eager to slay longshanks. They begin singing loudly as well.

Wenona assumed it was the gnome -Rasmorn- who had conjured the lion earlier. She hadn't worked with a magic-user before, but she was quickly coming to appreciate his capabilities.
Seizing the advantage, she quickly and forcefully brings her scythe down on one of the greasy goblins in front of her:

GM Phntm888 |

Wenona, thanking her good fortune after getting slightly burned, brings her scythe down on one of the Goblins threatening her, ending it's pathetic life. Dead. Don't forget the +4 for attacking a prone target.
