Tyrandro inspects the doors and determines they are safe.
Beyond, two statues, each depicting a tiger-headed man, stand in alcoves to either side of the doors. Their arms are wide, as if to usher visitors forward into the room beyond. Both statues are recognizable as the same figure from the temple.
Beyond that, two alcoves open on either side of this otherwise empty room. In one alcove, a long lever with an ebony handle protrudes from the wall.

Iolana Altumas |

"So this room will take us somewhere. I wonder if it's like an elevator? Are we ready to pull the lever?" Iolana looks nervous as the reality of going into a maze with no guaranteed way out is upon them. "Any words of "wisdom" or doom Tyrando?"

Tyrandro Amprei |

You're making air quotes with that "wisdom"
Tyrandro grabs the kukri before following through the door.
"Did I miss it and you've come up with something to deal with the next tiger-headed servant of the arconas? Besides that I'm fine here." he replies checking his emergency potions.

Tyrandro Amprei |

"That's great. Can we ask tiger boy to come back and finish the fight then?" Tyrandro asks jokingly gesturing towards the way back.
He moves to the lever - his sword at the ready - and waits for all to move past the gap in the floor before pulling it.

Iolana Altumas |

Yeah air quotes it was.
"Hopefully the enemies fall into a convenient pit of acid and you can just shoot them from above."

You previously determined that there was divination magic on the ring of evasion.
You pull the lever and the floor beneath you rotates and spins, nearly knocking you off your feet. When it comes to a stop, the entrance is gone and the room faces out to a completely new area. The room before you is a nondescript stone T-junction with another ebony lever to the right and another tiger-headed door to the left.

Iolana Altumas |

"Next time i'm sitting." Iolana stands and looks around. She moves to where she can see door and casts Detect Matic on it. "Try the door before we pull the second lever?"

GM Peachbottom |

Tyrandro decides the door is safe and pushes it open. Beyond is another bare stone room except for for a mystic symbol carved into the floor. Unfortunately as soon as Tyrandro looks at it, the symbol flares to life with magical energy that wracks the entire party with unspeakable pain.
Ayako Fort DC 20: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Iolana Fort DC 20: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Sebastian Fort DC 20: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Tyrandro Fort DC 20: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
Mu Shu Fort DC 20: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Tunstall Fort DC 20: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
Ayako, Iolana, and Tunstall fight off the effect through gritted teeth but Sebastian, Tyrandro and Mu Shu succumb and writhe in pain. Even worse, the waves of pain don't stop.
This is a Symbol of Pain. Sebastian, Tyrandro, and Mu Shu each take a -4 penalty on attack rolls, skill checks, and ability checks. The effect lasts for an hour after you move out of the symbol's range (60 ft.).
Once you gain your bearings, you notice that there is another door to the south and a curving hallway to the north.
The walls of this oddly shaped hallway (north) are decorated in a complex mural depicting a hot, steaming jungle brimming with hungry life. Predators of every sort stalk and maim and feed on dozens of hapless people. In the canopy above, monkeys, snakes, and birds seem to chatter and mock the victims below.

Ayako |

Mu Shu gives heart rending squeals of pain as the magic takes hold and flops on the ground. Ayako cuddles him with a heartbroken look and limps away from the symbol.
Mu Shu! Ayako coos as the little pig shudders and tries to comfort him.We need to see if this passes, with Sebastion and Tyrando hurting we are at a severe disadvantage.

Iolana Altumas |

"Should we get past the symbol on the floor and wait to see how long it takes to pass." she tries to study the symbol for clues.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

Iolana Altumas |

"Everyone should be fine in an hour after we get 60 feet away from it. Let's head down the hallway until we get away from it. We could also go through the doors, but we don't know what's on the other side."

Iolana Altumas |

"Wait Tyrando! If you come back through here again after you no longer hurt, you may be wracked with pain again. Let's move forward down the hall until we are far enough away, and then wait."

Tyrandro Amprei |

"Thank you very much, but no tank you." Tyrandro replies. "As you're unaffected you can take your time and come up with something to remove it."
As a default, a symbol of death pain is triggered whenever a creature does one or more of the following, as you select: looks at the rune; reads the rune; touches the rune; passes over the rune; or passes through a portal bearing the rune.
So roll your know arcana or spellcraft whatever applies here and throw a blanket on it and we're good. Or a shovel of dirt, depending on what the floor is made of.

GM Peachbottom |

Yes, you can cover it, or it will go away on its own after 10 minutes per caster level. Iolana can also tell you that. You don't know the caster level though to determine how long it will last but the caster is at least 9th to be able to cast the spell so at least 90 min.
Even if covered or dispelled, the effect will last for an hour after you are out of the area.
So you have some options. 1.) Wait here and wait the spell out. 2.) Investigate the next door. 3.) Investigate the hallway. 4.) Pull the other lever.

Iolana Altumas |

"Wait it is. Anyone have a deck of cards or some dice to keep us entertained? I could always do a Harrow reading." Iolana takes a seat where she can see out the doorway to wait, and pulls out the Zellara's Harrow deck and begins to shuffle the cards.
Zellara do you have any suggestions for us?

Sebastian Merrin |

Sebastian sits on the floor leaning with his back to the wall for support, holding his head. The waves of pain aren't crippling, but they are certainly debilitating, and he simply wants it to be over. "Let's have a reading, then," he groans.

Tyrandro Amprei |

"Did someone take care of that Symbol in the next room? If not I suggest we try the other lever." Tyrandro replies.
The effect lasts 60 minutes. The spell lasts 90. I'm not walking into this again.

Iolana Altumas |

"I've got nothing to cover it with or I would have covered the symbol when we were in the room. Pull the lever and see what happens.
"When you are ready to scout I'll tap you with the wand I have. That should make scouting easier. You want Fluffy to go with you? I can tap him as well."
Edited to reflect Tyrando's post.

GM Peachbottom |

Tyrandro pulls the switch and the room spins around again. The symbol of pain is gone but the unopened door to the right remains and oddly enough the exiting hallway connects to the same jungle mural except from the other end. You can see the hallway opens to a new room in the distance but you'd need to get closer to investigate.
You realize just how quiet the dungeon has been so far when the silence is broken be a deafening roar that reverberates through the walls from something in the distance.
The hallway description again:
The walls of this oddly shaped hallway are decorated in a complex mural depicting a hot, steaming jungle brimming with hungry life. Predators of every sort stalk and maim and feed on dozens of hapless people. In the canopy above, monkeys, snakes, and birds seem to chatter and mock the victims below.

GM Peachbottom |

Sorry for the confusion. This place is confusing. The door to the right leads back to the symbol of pain. I'll have you check the other direction to keep things going. You are free to go back to the symbol of pain if you want to though.
The threatening murals appear safe enough so Tyrandro advances to get a closer look. Horrifyingly, somehow, you find yourselves among the victims depicted in the pictures. But other than it being an intimidating image, it does not harm you.
From here, Tyrandro gets a better look at the room at the end of the hallway.
The walls, floor, and ceiling of this chamber are decorated with a complex mosaic depicting an immense swarm of angry wasps.

Iolana Altumas |

Iolana pulls out her Elemental metamagic rod, and gets ready for something to come at them.
If nothing attacks, she looks at the mural especially their pictures.
