I don't know how, but somehow I forgot how long it can take to put together these combat posts. I started that at about 1pm today, and have been constantly distracted all day.

Playing dolls with my daughter though, so that takes obvious precedence. :)

Post coming today, apologies for the delay. Yesterday was all family, which is a good thing :) Back to "normal" this weekend and forward.

Male Human (Michigander) GM/1 Tactical - Where on Golarion - CLW Charges: 0

As is our normal procedure for our group, at the end of the scenario you may divide the charges equally among everyone who has a wand. This signifies that with a little offscreen effort, you could all equally share the burden of healing everyone. Since this is the first time you are taking damage, you could theoretically nurse your wounds until Amin and Glarifyur purchase their wands at the pathfinder friendly temple nearby, so there is no reason why they can't participate as well.

This all assumes you are all ok with sharing the charges. I will assume you are, and if that is not the case you will need to tell me otherwise.

Another note for the newbies - This is not a normal procedure at a table (particularly at a place like Gen Con). Though it would be bad form for a divine caster at a table to refuse to use your own wand on you. That would go against the cooperate portion of Explore, Report, Cooperate motto of the Pathfinder Society. In general practice, you would always have a wand of CLW (the most cost effective form of magical healing in the game) and you would just roll to heal yourself, even if technically someone else is using the wand on you. It just makes everyone's life easier.

Male Grippli Level 3, #-9

Yeah, we PbP superstars like to think that the person hanging out safely in the back is responsible for helping to heal the fighter on the front line.

It's why I was so hesitant about making my first 2 PP purchase a different wand. CLW will be mine for next scenario, and I'll take some extra charges to make up for it.

Everyone is doing amazing, and I am having a great time running this for you, what a great group. Reading the posts feels like reading a story, which is why I love this medium.

Thing #1: I would say that the lighting could be a toss-up... do we want the agents to know we are there or not? If its all lit up inside they will know as I assume there are some windows here and there. I know Amin and I have Darkvision. We also have some Arcane casters who could put up quick Light spells. So pros and cons either way. I will support the party's decision.

Thing #2: I would say we should break into two relatively balanced strike teams to avoid getting flanked. I will take the secret door side (weapons drawn and shield brandished) if another front-liner like Tybain or Amin wants to go to the other shaking door in the office. Everyone else split as they deem necessary to balance our party; Amin might count as two for Regina so that would give us 4 per strike team.

We should try to identify them as Aspis or not; safe assumption they are Kortos agents if they are not Aspis. We can show them the evidence we have of the effects of Whip and the journal to validate the Aspis Consortium's evil nature; hopefully persuade them that a business venture with them is not worth the risk.

This is my $.02; I will be fairly busy at work all day tomorrow and likely will not be able to post until the evening. I am a team player and will support any decision of the party; Steve please do not feel you have to wait for me. WOO!!! I'm excited to see if that pretty face is gonna betray us!

I'm with you Aaron, once we identify which are the Kortos agents, I think the best course of action is to basically level with them. We can give them the evidence of the type of people they are actually dealing with (I.e. how bad the Aspis Consortium is), what the Aspis consortium is doing with the drug, and inform them that this shipment of theirs has the drug hidden within it. Then we can say that we (the pathfinder society) are in the process of removing the drugs from their shipment and will have all of their goods returned to them once the drug is gone; basically that we not looking to steal from them, but want to protect them from the Aspis Consortium.

Sounds good. Not all that good at bluffing (yet), but telling the truth is pretty easy for Ifran.

As for light, Ifran has low-light vision, so if there is starlight coming through the skylights, that's probably good enough for him. Failing that, he's pretty much in the dark (no wayfinder yet).

So likely both Kortos So it's likely both Kortos and Aspis are now coming in at the same time? I agree the truth is the best approach with Kortos, but how we'll deal with Aspis if they come at the same time? Stall them, beat them up, or let them join the talk?

And Tybain can take the office door. Hopefully he is joined by someone who can smooth-talk. (or just talk in general...)and Aspis are coming in at the same time?

The good news is that it wasn't my fault. The parking brake malfunctioned and locked up. Coincidentally if you want to do a power slide with your vehicle, you pull the parking brake. Nothing I could have done to stop it. Thankfully I wasn't going fast. Definitely could have been much worse.

Glad to hear you're ok!

Yeah, that sucks!
Pretty much everyone I know had some issues with their cars here last week (-25 centigrades). Many had to get their batteries replaced, some had electronics fail.

Mine only failed to start until it was two hours on the heater... Lucky I have old enough car so it doesn't have too much electronics :)

Important thing is that you're ok, Steve!

Male Human (Michigander) GM/1 Tactical - Where on Golarion - CLW Charges: 0

I appreciate the thoughts! I was surprisingly calm throughout the whole thing. My only thought was If I don't hit that tree I might be able to drive away from this...

The worst part was not being able to steer out of anything, or down-shift to regain control. I realize now it was because of the parking brake that I couldn't do any of that, but it was confusing at the time.

Cold weather can certainly be brutal for sure.

@Ifran - My car is a 2008 Saturn Astra. I've done some research online and it looks like the parking brake has been an issue for this car overseas. Looks like usually people complaining about the parking brake releasing on its own, not the other way around. I am guessing you would probably need to worry more about it releasing than locking up. Just leave it in gear and you should be ok.

Plus your car wasn't made by this company... maybe it doesn't have the same inherant flaws anyways.

DayJob is either a profession, craft, or perform check, unless you have a boon to make it something else.

Male Human (Michigander) GM/1 Tactical - Where on Golarion - CLW Charges: 0

Not necessarily a boon, though I guess such a boon could exist. Typically they are called "Vanities" and are available to purchase with prestige points (if you own the proper materials, the pathfinder society field guide has several, even though the content of that field guide is pretty well outdated).

Just for the record, day job checks are not required. This is a representation of a "side job" that you would do during the downtime between scenarios. Even during a multiple part scenario, just for ease of rules, you always get a "down time" session to spend how you would prefer. There are certain boons that have you forgo your downtime or regular day job check in favor of something special or unique.

Ifran has it right for standard dayjob checks. You can roll (trained only) any profession, craft, or perform check and depending on your results it will add some gold to your chronicle sheet. For example, if you had craft (armor) as a skill, rolling your dayjob check would represent you either running your own side business selling armor, or working for someone who has a business, helping to create their goods.

The vanities I mentioned above would be for things like sleight of hand. You can purchase a "Thieve's Guild" vanity that signifies you joining a guild. You make your money by picking pockets during your downtime.

Another vanity is the "Farmstead" vanity - which represents you purchasing some land for a farm or ranch. This allows you to use Handle Animal as a skill to make day job checks.

Even another example is the ever popular "Caravan" vanity. You own a trading caravan that buys and sells goods. You can either be a nice guy and roll diplomacy for your day job checks, or you can be underhanded and a bully, and roll intimidate for your day job checks.

One more example (and this is not an exhaustive list) would be the "Information Broker" vanity. This allows you to roll knowledge checks for your day job, making money off of the things you know and selling that info to the right people.

Again, all of those vanities cost prestige points to purchase, and per PFS rules you have to own the right source materials that have that information in there.

Hope that helps explain some things.

@Amin - Everything else looks good on your information. Don't worry about the starting gold, its not really critical in the first level due to the rules that allow you to completely re-tool your character before you play it at 2nd level.

I will endeavor to have chronicles out within the next couple of days. Nice work everyone!

Male Human (Michigander) GM/1 Tactical - Where on Golarion - CLW Charges: 0

Sorry for the thread blast here -

I want to get a sense of where everyone is at.

I count currently 4 scenarios in season 7 that are available to play with this group. Based on some other conversations, there is a very strong desire to play as many season 7s as possible in order to be as invested in the story line as we can prior to Gen Con.

We had also initially discussed running evergreen scenarios in order to get to level 2, with the confirmation being pegged as a good one because of the free wayfinder you get at the end of it.

My question to everyone is - How long do you want to delay getting into the season 7 scenarios?

Our current plan was to run wounded wisp next, then Confirmation afterwards, then focus on the season 7s.

If we can average 1 scenario per month, that takes us to gen con only with what is currently available, (though one of the low tier season 7s has some pretty poor reviews) and wouldn't likely allow enough time to play any new low tiers that get released before then. That pace also puts all of these characters in the middle of level 3 at the beginning of Gen Con, and opens up a new set of possible scenarios that could be played at Gen Con (when not in specials)

Let me know what you think and want to do. As a GM, I absolutely plan on giving season 7 scenarios a higher priority, but not against the wishes of the group.

The basic choices are to continue with the plan to do wounded wisp and confirmation, at the potential sacrifice of any new low tier season 7s that are released between now and July.

Or focus on season 7s only and get as many in as we can before Gen Con. (once we hit level 3 we would be able to look at that new sub-set of tier 3-7 if there are no 1-5s available, and so I am confident we could play nothing but season 7 up until Gen Con)

If this doesn't make sense to you let me know, and I will try to explain. I think only Amin and Glarifyur are at a disadvantage to understanding that gibberish I just typed. :)

I'm good to skip the evergreens - in fact, I would prefer it. They tend to drag a little longer than regular scenarios, too. I definitely want Bugdip to be at least level 3 for GenCon.

To get the story in order, I'd like to start from as early in the season as possible. That puts it at #7-01 - Between the Lines.

You probably missed it in all the stuff going on, but I'll stay on with this group (whether tis run by Steve or you and Steve) to get some more season 7 in before GenCon.

I will still be leaving the Beasts after chapter 3, though.

As for the retool... I think you need to keep the wand, but Bugdip can use it (and I'll pick up a CLW wand for you to use charges from to make up for it, if you like).

If you haven't used any charges from it, I think you can just get a refund on the rebuild. I think.

Goal will be for minimum of 1 scenario per month (and I think we can definitely keep pace or beat that, as long as I can keep up as the GM!!!) which will put everyone at 3.2 (8xp total) by the end of July. Perfect level range to hit Gen Con with.

If we can somehow squeeze an extra scenario in there then we can make it to level 4. I don't want to cause unnecessary stress about maintaining a high post rate though, so lets just file that away as a cherry on the top of the sunday if it is possible.

Male Human (Michigander) GM/1 Tactical - Where on Golarion - CLW Charges: 0

I am a dufus.... I forgot to look at the not-available scenarios (as in, not yet released) and there is a trilogy called the faithless and forgotten. Part one will be released in about a week.

So we have at least 7 season 7 scenarios (with one of those being a dud according to reviews). PLENTY of scenarios to carry us to Gen Con.

Season 7 exclusively from here on out.

To Gen Con!!!!!

(temptation overwhelming you yet Jyri? mwuaaahahahahahaha!)
