This Tagline Template offers a basic setup for your own PC's PbP tagline, providing vital information at a glance. Modify/adapt it to your own PC's crucial needs.
Please ensure you have an updated stat block associated with your PC and any companions or familiars.
For those using Hero Lab, it's quite simple.
Under the "File" tab, select "Output Hero Statblock." In the pop-up menu, select the "BBCode" tab and click on the "Copy" button.
In your PC's Paizo profile, click on the "Edit My Profile" button. Then paste it into the "About [Your PC's Name]" block near the bottom of the page.

When you're ready, use this thread to introduce your PC to the GM and to the party. Please do so in-character.
Some Basic Rules of Engagement (ROE):
OOC Text: When mistakes are made or clarifications are necessary, just let us know in the discussion thread. Let's keep the ooc text in the gameplay thread to a minimum.
Conditions/Effects: Regarding penalties or bonuses/buffs/debuffs from conditions/effects, please, players, indicate any bonuses/penalties to attacks, damage, etc separately--to remind the GM and other players.
For example, [dice=Attack, Power Attack, Inspire Courage, Fatigued]d20-1+1-2; d8+2+1-2[/ dice].
Animal Companion/Mount/Familiar/Eidolon: Please create a separate alias for it, especially if it will act on its own. Also indicate its Perception and Initiative modifier, as well as your own, on Slide 2.
Initiative: Animal Companions/Mounts/Familiars/Eidolons will have their own Initiative results. They can act independently or you can opt to have you and your companion act at the same time on the lower of the two Initiative results. The one with the higher result will be considered delayed, but not flat-footed.
Miss Chance: I prefer to roll miss chances as the GM.
What do we have for characters? I have a variety that I could bring, a skills mindchemist that's level 3, or perhaps a range of level 2s. Let me know where we are lacking.
If no one else is bringing a bard I may try out Bash rebuilt as a Thundercaller! Two Dwarven fighters at the same time just blur into the same character.

I haven't played a pbp before so if I am doing something wrong please let me know. I have read the other links Larry put up. I will post in character soon for an introduction. You said something about Alias for my pet also makes me think I could do one for my character, I will try and figure out exactly what you mean by that. I am planning to play a second level half orc hunter named Makoa with a wolf named Kifah as an animal companion. Any questions for me please feel free to ask. Thanks.

@Travenix:
Log on to Paizo, under the My Account dropdown menu, select Account Settings.
Scroll down the page till you see Messageboard Aliases. Click on Create New Alias, and make one for your wolf, Kifah.
When it's time to post, the Post As dropdown menu will include all your PCs/Aliases, including Makoa and Kifah. Select the appropriate alias when you hit Preview or Submit Post.
Preview's a good idea, so you can proofread your posts and correct any mistakes till you're happy with them. Then, select Submit Post. Even after you do that, you can still make edits within the first hour after you post.
Feel free to test it out here in the Discussion thread.

I think I will be bringing my lvl 2 Mesmerist. I also have a lvl 1 Paladin or a lvl 2 Ninja/Sorcerer if we need more damage output.
@Larry, why do you want an in character introduction in the discussion thread and not in gameplay?

Just my personal GM preference. I like to start the Gameplay thread with the scenario's opening, usually starting with a scene-setter and the mission brief.
Sometimes folks switch out PCs as the party takes shape. Also, we'll have two players new to PbP, and I'd prefer to keep their initial trial-and-error posting within the Discussion thread.
Some players like to provide a lot of expositive character back story, and the Discussion thread is great for that, too.
As far as player posts go, I'm not dictating terms to anybody. Once everybody has their PCs selected and the party's ready to rock and roll, we'll move the dialogue and action over to the Gameplay thread. I'm looking forward to it.
We're still waiting to hear from Donovon and dien.
Ok I got a few dumb questions. First it looks like it will post my sex, race and classes/levels when I post, how do I get stats to show up? Second do you want us to do a post physically describing ourselves? It is not like in character I would describe myself. Third do you want to at least describe the room or place we are meeting in case I want to say I am by the fire place. Lastly when I post in character I had to give a longer name because Makoa was taken, the other part of his name does mean something but not like he would volunteer it. Ok last thing wasn't a question just more of a clarification.

A short, thin, grey-skinned half orc walks into the room trailed by a big shaggy dog, on closer inspection it is actually a smallish grey wolf. He looks around the room looking for something. Finally he addresses the people assembled in the room without making eye contact with anyone. "I am Makoa and she is Kifah, we are from Isger, what have we missed?", he says in Taldorian (common) in a chellish accent.

To create your tagline, select My Profile, under the Aliases tab, select Makoa and click on Edit My Profile.
Then enter the information for your tagline in the Race, Class/Levels, and Gender lines. Once you click on Save Changes, the information will appear under your PC's name and above your PC's image, whenever you post as that character.
When posting, we generally use the "third person limited" point of view. That's pretty much the style you used in your subsequent post introducing yourself.

A male person stands in the doorway. At first glance you could mistake him for a human, but his eyes lack any color and his skin is just a bit too pale. This must be one of the vampire-spawn known as a dhampir. His clothes are of expensive make and he carries himself with authority. In one hand he caries a walking stick. Looking at the wolf, the dwarf and the half-orc he waits for a bit.
When nobody reacts he steps into the room "Well met, I am Karayan Ionacu. I assume you are also here to receive a briefing? I assume that if a half-orc and a dwarf can cooperate you won't mind a dhampir to join you? Rest assured, I will disguise myself outside of the lodge, but I prefer to be honest with my companions.

Seeing a half orc and a... dhampir head into the room, Marcie quickly withdraws the invitation for a smooch with a started and nervous look "You's aren't who I expected to come through that door. Usually a bunch of pretty humans and elves, but at least you brought a pooch!"
She bends down on one knee and hoots over to the pup "Kifah! Pretty pup, come give Marcie a kissy!" She squeeks and kisses at the wolf with an offer to give it a good scratch, keeping one eye on its master. I hope this orc kept this guy clean and free of fleas!

A well-armored, strikingly handsome man saunters in, his heavy breastplate making enough noise to announce his presence even above his footsteps. His hair is brown and cropped to one side, and though his demeanor is pleasant, he wears years of gloom in the bags under his eyes. On the upper right pad of his full plate is an image of a single red wing crossed with a bastard sword. On the left side, the sticky remnants of an orange and green liquid.
"It appears I am in the right place. Another summons from the Pathfinder Society. I apologize for the mess, a half-orc friend of mine makes the finest fruit beverages, and I may have overindulged," he smiles, scratching his head.
"A dhampir, hm? Why, I don't believe I have ever traveled with one before." He gazes upon the almost-vampire nervously. "Dwarves, however, they're always such stout, proud and powerful beings."

Ms Steeltoe spins on her heel as Serge walks in "Now there's what this lady expected to see! Hey there cutie! Don't worry, a little dried vomit mess doesn't scare off Dwarven Ladies... its par for the course!" She takes a few sideways steps towards him and tilts her face a bit, presenting her cheek for a kiss. Lay one on me fella, come ta Momma!
As Ms Steeltoe looks over Kifah, she notices that Kifah is generally well groomed but both Kifah and her master seem dirty in a way that suggests recent quick travel. Kifah sniffs at Ms Steeltoe and bristles a bit as the stranger approaches but seems to calm down after Makoa says, "Down girl, it's OK ", in orcish.

Ms Steeltoe notices a raised Gozreh tattoo on Makoa's left hand as he calms Kifah when she comes over. Makoa takes off his hat and shakes the road dirt out of his shoulder length dark red hair. "I am more worried about working with the...paladin than you, Mr Ionacu". Makoa flashes a nervous awkward smile for a brief second and then glances quickly to Mr Foxmourn, then to Mr Ionacu and then away.

Please take a moment and fill out your PC's information on Slides 1 and 2.
Slide 1 indicates where you'd like your PC to be in a typical march order.
Slide 2 includes basic information about your PC, as well as his or her Perception and Initiative modifiers (and the modifiers for your critters).

The 'well established' graying Dwarf squints her eyes a bit as Karayan stares her way "That weren't a shot at my greyin' locks were it? I'mma gonna let 'r slide if it were. These locks grayed far early, runs in mah family it do." I'll show 'em what force is right up side that bald'n head of his!
"Thank you for your generosity ma'am" Karayan responds. Looking at the newcomer he smiles "Wel met Serge, I am Karayan Ionacu. It is good to have a stalwart warrior in our midst."

The door opens, and an emerald-scaled figure clad in well-worked leather armor of an eastern style enters. As nagaji have little in the way of mammalian sexual characteristics, gender is not immediately apparent, but the figure offers a fluid bow to those gathered, and a brief, closed-mouth smile.
"Pathfinders, well met," the najagi says in a low, fluid voice. "I am named Shikaree. My bow is at the service of all of you, and what other humble skills I possess." Another bow, and Shikaree moves to stand in a corner, trying not to take up very much space. Yellow eyes with nictating membranes blink rapidly, and occasionally Shikaree's weight shifts, foot to foot.
"I suppose we must begin the briefing, yes, this is customary?"

"Yer welcome smooth talker." She stifles a bit of a smile and shoos him away halfheartedly.
As the lizardman comes in her eyes light up a bit "Can't say I've worked with someone like you bafore. I'm Marcie, practically royalty in the Steeltoe clan!"
"Good with a bow eh? Don't hit mah drum and we'll be good. This thing is practically a family heirloom!" She gives it a quick whacks Badum tiss! before heading off to the brief with the others.

A stocky dwarf hurries into the room, breathing hard from running to the meeting. He coughs gently as entering the room, sheepishly looking around.
"Aye, I'm sorry I'm late all, I misplaced my communication from the Captain." huffs Torgrin. "I, ah, wanted to start off with some honest talk right off. See, I have been a Pathfinder for a little while, but recently, while on tasks for the Archive, there was...an incident. Deep underground, where I feel most at home, something...happened. And to avoid the disturbance I'm sure to cause later I should explain. What you see before you is how I did look, but this is not my form anymore, and I cannot hold this form for long. But please! Please know, no matter what you see, I am here to help and fight furiously by your side."
Torgrin then looks away from any eyes and shifts to a chair and sinks as far in as he can.

"Oh! I am honored to work with you, Pathfinder Marcie, respected elder of the Steeltoe clan! Please do not hesitate to suggest things I may do better. The wisdom of elders is more worthwhile than gold. I promise you by all of my scales I will not strike your drum," Shikaree says earnestly to Marcie.
At Torgrin's introduction, Shikaree's yellow eyes widen. "Er.... ah... what form might you change into, Pathfinder Agent Torgrin? I... would not wish to become inadvertently alarmed."

@New PbP players, Torgrin and Makoa:
It's useful to use Preview to proofread what you've typed, before you hit Submit Post.
And even if you overlook something, you have an hour to make further edits, before the post becomes 'permanent.'
For example, Torgrin forgot to close his dialogue with a "[/b]," so the text lacked the bold that he wanted. Torgrin can still select Edit, and make the correction if he does it in the next 45 minutes or so.
We all make mistakes, though, so it's not a big deal.
Kifah takes notice of Shikaree but stays next to Makoa. She gets more active once Torgrin comes in sniffing the air and looking intently at him. Eventually curiosity over comes her and she edges closer to Torgrin examining him, but backs off with her ears down when she thinks he might come toward her. Finally Mokoa says "HEEL" to her in orcish and she goes back to his side.
Sorry I did it over here because I felt like this happened before the VC came in, but you guys blew this up before I got home from work.
