Dark Archive

Female Psychic 1 | HP:8/8 | AC:12 (10 Tch, 12 Fl) | CMB:-2, CMD:10 | F:+1(+3 vs disease), R:+2, W:+0(+2 vs mind-affecting | Init:+4 | Perc:+2, SM:+2 | Speed:30ft | Darkvision, Low-light | Spells:0 4/4; 1st 4/4

Seems like the Paizo servers were FUBAR'd this weekend? I had trouble getting anywhere on the messageboards.

Silver Crusade

Male Half- Elf Lvl 1 Paladin Hp:12/12 AC:16 T:11 FF:14 Fort: +4 Ref: +2 Will: +3 CMB: +3 CMD: 14 Perc +3 Init +1 Speed 30' (20' w/armor)

They seem better now. I've been pretty busy this weekend.

Grand Lodge

Male Oni-Spawn Tiefling Fighter 2 | HP 21/21 | AC 22, T 13, FF 19, CMD 19 | F +5, R +2, W +1 (+1 vs fear)| Init +2 | Perc +1, SM +1 | Speed 20ft | Darkvision 60ft

I didn't have any issues.

Dark Archive

Ooh, I wonder if I should try out charm hex or just sneaking ._. Still trying to decide

Dark Archive

Male Half-Elf Summoner 1 | HP: 12/12| AC: 15 (12 Tch, 13 Fl) | CMB: +1, CMD: 13 | F: +1, R: +2, W: +1 | Init: +4 | Perc: +1, SM: -1 | Speed 30ft | Summon Monster 5/6 | Spells: 1st 1/2| Active conditions:None.

Sneak about and charm the children!

The Exchange

Male Human Ranger

I think we should send somebody in and the rest of us go after the kids :-).

One "real" child, a terrier, and I can turn into a second child. How can we fail :-) :-)

Grand Lodge

Male Oni-Spawn Tiefling Fighter 2 | HP 21/21 | AC 22, T 13, FF 19, CMD 19 | F +5, R +2, W +1 (+1 vs fear)| Init +2 | Perc +1, SM +1 | Speed 20ft | Darkvision 60ft

Molos can talk to the old lady. With my 6 charisma, horns, and tusks, she should love me. Besides, I don't want to scare the kids.

Dark Archive

Well, I guess I have time figuring out what to do until roll results are in <_<;

Do people know when they have been charmed btw?

Silver Crusade

Male Half- Elf Lvl 1 Paladin Hp:12/12 AC:16 T:11 FF:14 Fort: +4 Ref: +2 Will: +3 CMB: +3 CMD: 14 Perc +3 Init +1 Speed 30' (20' w/armor)

And I'll have some tea with the old lady and Molos.

Grand Lodge

Male Oni-Spawn Tiefling Fighter 2 | HP 21/21 | AC 22, T 13, FF 19, CMD 19 | F +5, R +2, W +1 (+1 vs fear)| Init +2 | Perc +1, SM +1 | Speed 20ft | Darkvision 60ft

So should Molos pull out the +4 intimidate when talking to her, or just keep my mouth shut and let you diplomacize her?

Silver Crusade

Male Half- Elf Lvl 1 Paladin Hp:12/12 AC:16 T:11 FF:14 Fort: +4 Ref: +2 Will: +3 CMB: +3 CMD: 14 Perc +3 Init +1 Speed 30' (20' w/armor)

I'll play good cop, and if that doesn't work, go in with the bad cop Molos.

Grand Lodge

Male Oni-Spawn Tiefling Fighter 2 | HP 21/21 | AC 22, T 13, FF 19, CMD 19 | F +5, R +2, W +1 (+1 vs fear)| Init +2 | Perc +1, SM +1 | Speed 20ft | Darkvision 60ft

Now I wish I already had the feat that lets me add my strength score to intimidate. I'll probably get it next level.

Dark Archive

Oh yeah, I had familiar right xD I can tell familiar to sneak and check around, not sure what they can understand with 6 int, but I could at least try that

Silver Crusade

6 int is below average by human standards, but smart enough to be a functional human being. Familiars are pretty smart. It's the int 1 and 2 animal companions that aren't capable of understanding anything but trained tricks.

Heck, its higher than some PCs I've seen :-)

There is a Nagaji Bloodrager I know that I usually have to keep on a leash...

Silver Crusade

My first PFS PC was a barbarian with 8 int and wis. So below average, but not an idiot, and I played him appropriately, not exaggerating how dumb he is or anything.

In one scenario, he took wisdom damage that took him down to 4. We had fun role playing that one.

Silver Crusade

GM I'm sorry, what does that roll mean for perception?

Dark Archive

Are you looking at the gm's secret rolls?

Dark Archive

Human Omega God Level

....................No.......I'm not entirely sure.

Dark Archive

Human Omega God Level

O crap. Sorry.

Silver Crusade

PbP has some interesting advantages, doesn't it? In a face to face game we'd never be able to split the party like this and all be simultaneously making progress. Its also very nice to be able to do (and see) the internal monologue.

Dark Archive

Human Omega God Level

Yea, I'm still new to this and get pretty awkward at times during time when I was playing IRL with others. I used to do this with others while waiting to play ESO and RP.

Silver Crusade

It is nice to be able to split the party without having people sitting around doing nothing for half an hour. One other tool PBP has for situations like this is that we could have broken the different groups down with spoilers, so that the people in the kitchen wouldn't know what's going on upstairs, and vice versa. I didn't find that necessary here, but it can be interesting in more high stakes situations.

Dark Archive

Human Omega God Level

It seems like everything should be fine with the lady. Should we give her the medicine yet?

Dark Archive

Male Half-Elf Summoner 1 | HP: 12/12| AC: 15 (12 Tch, 13 Fl) | CMB: +1, CMD: 13 | F: +1, R: +2, W: +1 | Init: +4 | Perc: +1, SM: -1 | Speed 30ft | Summon Monster 5/6 | Spells: 1st 1/2| Active conditions:None.

We should regroup and discuss before handing things over. Due diligence and all that.

Dark Archive

Should I try charming someone after all? .-. Anyway, should probably check out what Ular found. And I think someone did pass the heal check?

Silver Crusade

Are there any players who have not run or played this before? I've run this enough times that I think I could do a credible job without the module in front of me :-).

If there are, they get to make most of the "strategic" decisions (ie, things like "are we done here now?")

Dark Archive

Male Half-Elf Summoner 1 | HP: 12/12| AC: 15 (12 Tch, 13 Fl) | CMB: +1, CMD: 13 | F: +1, R: +2, W: +1 | Init: +4 | Perc: +1, SM: -1 | Speed 30ft | Summon Monster 5/6 | Spells: 1st 1/2| Active conditions:None.

Molos made his heal check, you or someone should investigate whatever Ular found, and Cara should maybe try some Diplomacy? Intimidate doesn't seem to be working...

Dark Archive

I do have actually run this once as first game I ever run, never played it though.

I dunno, I could still try hexing. Though I'm not sure, does hexing require lot of noise? xD Eh, I guess I could live without trying to charm, but I'm just worried of whether I should have picked other hex first... Charm to my understanding isn't really helpful in combat :'D

Dark Archive

Male Half-Elf Summoner 1 | HP: 12/12| AC: 15 (12 Tch, 13 Fl) | CMB: +1, CMD: 13 | F: +1, R: +2, W: +1 | Init: +4 | Perc: +1, SM: -1 | Speed 30ft | Summon Monster 5/6 | Spells: 1st 1/2| Active conditions:None.

You could try and charm one of the children.

Dark Archive

Human Omega God Level

Anything I can do, I'm spent sort bull******* to the old woman?

Dark Archive

Male Half-Elf Summoner 1 | HP: 12/12| AC: 15 (12 Tch, 13 Fl) | CMB: +1, CMD: 13 | F: +1, R: +2, W: +1 | Init: +4 | Perc: +1, SM: -1 | Speed 30ft | Summon Monster 5/6 | Spells: 1st 1/2| Active conditions:None.

I feel like we have all the pieces, we just need to put together the picture. Can you read back through and summarize what we've found out?

Dark Archive

Human Omega God Level

Going on a hunch here, it's possible she is being strong armed by some thugs for money to pay for the orphanage, or can't really afford all the of the building's expenses. So for both cases, Balwin is using the kids to transport drugs from somewhere out of town, and they are getting sick from it.

Silver Crusade

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I've played/GMed this adventure several times before, so I'm mostly keeping my mouth shut. Given that Molos is an anti-social PC, it kinda fits.

FYI, I'm actually busy with a gaming convention this weekend, so won't have as much time to check in here. Just played two sessions of PFS (one as GM, one as a player) today. I'm signed up for 3 sessions tomorrow, but I've decided to blow off the morning session. 8 AM is just too early, especially given that it's a 40 minute drive from home.

So I'll check in tomorrow morning, but then not again until close to midnight here, kinda like today.

You wouldn't happen to be at CoFN, Fromper?

Dark Archive

I'm restraining my comments until we have finished this one and move to next task

Silver Crusade

CheezWizrd wrote:

I don't know that one. I'm playing at ConCeption, at the College of DuPage, in DuPage County, Illinois (western suburbs of Chicago).

Silver Crusade

Are we all away from the keyboard or is it just that nobody has anything else to contribute?

I think we're ready to go back to Ollysta at this point, unless somebody has any idea on how to investigate where the money is coming from.

Dark Archive

Well, technically speaking, we could just ask her xD

Silver Crusade

We didn't tell her the truth about who we were or deliver the medicine that Ollysta told us to deliver, either. Do we trust her enough to give it to her, or don't we?

Dark Archive

Female Psychic 1 | HP:8/8 | AC:12 (10 Tch, 12 Fl) | CMB:-2, CMD:10 | F:+1(+3 vs disease), R:+2, W:+0(+2 vs mind-affecting | Init:+4 | Perc:+2, SM:+2 | Speed:30ft | Darkvision, Low-light | Spells:0 4/4; 1st 4/4

Well, from a PC standpoint, I failed my checks against the orphans, so I think from a RP standpoint Cara would be miffed, but probably like, 'well, I tried what I know', and would just move on. As you probably noted, she's been encouraged to have a rather dim view of Ollysta to begin with, so she's more looking to have fun and cause a bit of mischief, than to represent the Silver Crusade.
Dunno how that will play out in end-of-scenario rewards.

Dark Archive

Human Omega God Level

I don't know exactly, seems a bit odd. She ain't touching the medicine, but is healing the kids instead. WHat is she doing with that medicine, who are those people that visit her, and where is this "place" that the kids refer to?

Silver Crusade

I think the "place" is that the kids are being sent out to work. Which is, of course, a very GOOD thing (learning a trade, getting fresh air, etc).

Dark Archive

Must. Resist. Comments xD

Dark Archive

Human Omega God Level

Fine by me Shallya.

Dark Archive

Okay, I guess I can now partly comment

I would like to point out that she is essentially taking advantage of child labor. Even if you don't think that is bad, well, the work distance is like... Well, Absalom is biggest city on Inner Sea IIRC. Baltwin's orphanage is on eastgate. She has sent little kids work on westgate. Yeaaaaaaaaaah, thats a lot of walking.

Silver Crusade

Molos is neutral, and grew up in an orc nation. He thinks these kids have it good, and just wants to move on to other things.

Silver Crusade

Male Half- Elf Lvl 1 Paladin Hp:12/12 AC:16 T:11 FF:14 Fort: +4 Ref: +2 Will: +3 CMB: +3 CMD: 14 Perc +3 Init +1 Speed 30' (20' w/armor)

O.......

Dark Archive

Raharjo doesn't care much either(besides doing his job), but I'm as player curious since I thought child labor was frowned upon everywhere ._. Though admittedly, I'm not sure if people in Golarion would care, but I figured out its easy as player to forget how big city Absalom is supposed to be

Well, that and I'm still amused by one thing, but going to comment on that later xD
