PbP Gameday VII: PFS Scenario #3-21: The Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment [Tier 1-5] (Inactive)

A week to go, and I'd like for everyone to check in and confirm their character (and level) as well as ninja dot in the Gameplay thread. That'll give me some time to look them over a bit and give your fellow players a chance to know who they're gaming with.

I will probably post the 'pre-start' of the game next Saturday, a couple days before the official beginning of PbP Gameday just to give everyone a chance to post their intro in the Gameplay thread and do some RP before the adventure begins on the 13th.

Based on the character sheets of those players that have been accepted into the game on the Recruitment tab, it looks as though we are firmly in low tier. If anyone's level has changed, please update your character sheet and let me know, but here's the math I'm coming up with:

Awesome, welcome to pbp Finnius! Feel free to ask if you have questions. Personally, this gaming format is my favorite. It's slower than table gaming, but I enjoy writing and have difficulty sometimes in getting my thoughts across verbally.

The game has begun! Once you have all made your character intros and asked questions, I'll be locking in your characters and determining the tier for certain, though it looks to be low unless there are some big changes.

I also regret to inform you all that I'll be on a brief vacation over the next week and a half, beginning tomorrow. I am going to try and access the site with my smartphone and make brief posts during that time (probably answering questions during the briefing), but if you don't hear from me before next Tuesday or thereabouts you'll know why.

Sorry again for this necessary delay, but know that we'll be at full steam ahead thereafter.

Quick question: Can the Light spell from the Wayfinders be used more than once a game or not?

I have heard both ways in different games with different GMs.

I was always under the impression that Wayfinders were at will, not limited?

Also, I finally set an avatar. . . that system for searching for them is pretty rough.

I would check in the Pathfinder Society Field Guide. There is a description of the Wayfinder in there I believe.

A small magical device patterned on the design of ancient Azlanti relics, a wayfinder is a compact compass typically made from silver and bearing gold accents. While it serves as a badge of office for agents of the Pathfinder Society, a wayfinder is as much a handy tool as a status symbol. With a command word, the bearer can cause a wayfinder to shine (as per Light). A wayfinder also acts as a nonmagical (magnetic) compass, granting a +2 circumstance bonus on Survival checks to avoid becoming lost. All wayfinders feature a small indentation designed to hold a single ioun stone. An ioun stone slotted in this manner grants the bearer its normal benefits as if it was orbiting her head, and resonates its powers with the wayfinder, replacing its ability to shine with a different power.

So an ioun stone with a resonating power will cause the wayfinder to no longer provide light. There are also different types of wayfinders that replace the shine ability with other options, I think.

So this last couple of weeks have been aggravating for GMs and players alike. Still, having played on another pbp gaming board that had a LOT more outages than Paizo, I'm only mildly irritated at the delay we've had.

Still, it's proven problematic in getting our game started, and figuring out who is really with us. At the moment, I know we have four players who have been very active, one player who has only posted once about two weeks ago (well before the board went down) and another who hasn't shown at all.

That said, we can do this game with four PCs, though I'd like to have a fifth - especially if said player has a cleric or the like. So I'll give the two other players through Saturday to post, but I'm also going to contact the three players who expressed interest too late to make the cut and see if they want to be on standby. If Sunday rolls around and I've not heard from either Flower (Kitava) or Imjah, I will drop those players at that time and take on another, if I get any interest.

Also, I have Chronicle Sheet information from two of you (Regnum and Vladamir), but I don't think I have anything from Gery or Finnius. Apologies if I simply overlooked it, but please give me the following information in a post below.

Well, since you have a better AC and more HP then I say you take point, with Gery right behind/next to you.

Because we only have a month to finish this adventure, I plan to step up the posting rate as much as I can. Please try to post actions (especially in a combat situation) within 24 hours of my post if possible. One thing I would definitely show the aasimar bodyguards is the body of the dretch. Also the books we found in the library referring to that Abyssal city would be helpful.

Don't forget what Gastidem told us about Dakang knowing about the 'Kiss of Korada' and that "Wheedling and pleading, the gnome says that Dakang is perverting Korada's faith to venerate a secret evil, though he knows no specifics - a fact that the Pathfinders are fairly convinced is true."

Vladamir's Diplomacy is +5.
