"No orcs, she said, no orcs! That old man is a liar, she said," Hemiantus screams as he struggles to pull his elven curved blade from it's back sheathe. His rat familiar ducks down deep into the familiar satchel.

BTW, even though I am posting "actions", they don't happen until my turn, obviously.

Will is even more frustrated than before. first the human lies, then the hunter ends up being wrong... I think we're having a "talk" after this...

will pulls his crossbow up and begins to load a bolt.

for the game's sake, the bolt was already loaded, i'll actual count drawing the cross bow when i state my actions.

Calling out in Orc Og challenges We are mighty wizards. Yield this path and we will allow you to live.

Calling out as a free action. First round action will depend on range.

Ok, battle grid is all set on slides. Og, you can engage in melee with a single move action...if you have the initiative.

Initiative:::::
Orcs: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (10) + 0 = 10
Erald: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

No surprise round.

Hemiantus pulls his enormous elven curved blade from his shoulder holster and intones a few arcane words while carving sigils of protection through the air. Instantly, a purple, translucent barrier springs up all around him. His rat peaks out of his satchel, looking intently at the orcs.

Intimidate: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9 Any reaction to Og's threat?

The half orc also draws his weapon and casts Mage Armor, stepping to stand side by side with Hemiantus. Stay close Hemiantus. Makes it harder for them to flank us.

The larger of the 3 orcs snarls at Og "Mighty? Ahahaha...you're nothing but a half-blood!"

Male Gnome Wizard (Spellslinger) 2 | AC 12 T 12 FF 11 | HP -4/11 | F +1 R +1 W +4 | Init +1 | Perc +3

The gnome, somewhat annoyed at being called upon to use his limited magic already, sighs. <This needs to be over fast. Any objections?>

Pulling the unloaded pistol from his belt, Medghar take aim at the center of the band (trying to ensure that all are in 5 yards of center). "Well, look who showed up early for the festival! Have some fireworks on me!"

At the word me, a red and gold dragon shaped missile launches from the gun and flies toward the center of the band, deftly avoiding all obstacles in its path to detonate into a colorful explosion of fire and sound at the precise point the gnome was aiming.

Casting Snapdragon fireworks at the center of the band. I am still figuring this portion out, but it should do 1d4 fire damage and daze anything within five yards of the blast (reflex save halves the damage and negates dazzled). I am treated as one level higher because it has the fire descriptor, so I should get a second round of launching them, choosing again where it goes if I am reading the spell right.

<<Looks like we are doing this the hard way.>>

I think you meant 5ft, not 5 yards, right? Or am I missing a special ability?

OrcRed: 1d20 ⇒ 11

The orc erupts in a blaze of sulfurous black powder, and seems wholly in a a stupor. The one on the left roars and charges Hemiantus holding the greataxe aloft...

OrcYellow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

...but the fire distracts him and it swings free. The final orc still behind the tree pulls forth a javelin and tosses it at Og.

dmg: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Og, you notice the javelin piercing through your force armor...impossible! It sticks in the ground and fades to a mere outline...it was an illusion.

Og can you double check your will save calculation? Regardless this one stands

Male Gnome Wizard (Spellslinger) 2 | AC 12 T 12 FF 11 | HP -4/11 | F +1 R +1 W +4 | Init +1 | Perc +3

Yes, good catch it is a five foot radius blast, with a 400 ft +40 ft per level range (so current range would be 480 ft of flight time before it would have to detonate). Forgot to roll damage, even though Og seems to think it might be an illusion I probably should still do so.

Firework damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1

Medgar Will: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

Medgar seems to think they are real when the fire erupts.

Am I missing something obvious? Your will save also seems not calculated right, should be +3 not +4?

Male Half Orc Half Orc Wizard HP 19/19, AC 13-16/12/11-14, Init +2, Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +3, Falchion +6 (2d4+6/18-20)| 6/day—telekinetic fist +3 Touch for 1d4+1, Perception +5

+3 is correct. Sacred Tattoo racial trait combined with Fate's Favored trait gives him +2 to all saves. :).

Thanks, sorry for not inferring that

So at this point if Og says something like "its an illusion" you get a +4 to disbelieve upon interaction

"But they do look awfully real, and the old fella is a long way away..." Erald adds stepping back and squinting at the orcs carefully.

"I mean they've got to be real... Right? That one has nose hair!"

Bezoar rushes up and attempts to butt the nearest orc, head going straight through it the goat instantly realizes his foes are not real and shoots his master a contemptuous glare.

"Well I know, but maybe the axe is real, and its like a double bluff..."

Og is quite suspicious of the orcs now. If they throw illusionary weapons perhaps they are all illusions. He takes a swing at the greataxe wielding orc threatening him, I am on to you. he says as he swings his blade and hoping to either kill the enemy or or dispel the figment.

<They are, in fact, illusionary my fellows... that blast should have taken the orc's head off, yet instead its form blends into the background. I may not have my race's depth of knowledge with regards to illusions, silly things, but I have been pranked enough to know the signs. I say we head back to town and light the wizard's tower on fire to show our... displeasure with the man. Then we can retrieve the flame in peace I think.>

...catching him full force in the stomach. Your mind prepares for death, you try to picture Illyriana...but wait, oddly there is no pain. Your entrails are indeed still in place? Aha. Og was correct after all, an illusion!

The final orc at range runs right and with a clear path tosses a javelin at William.

OrcBlue: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

...that instead penetrates into a tree trunk with a *pang*

Disbelievers: Medgar, Og, Hemiantus, Bezoar (lol)
Believers: Erald, William

At this point you could use your actions to demonstrate the falseness, like saying "Watch" and walking up and waving your hand through it etc. Or again, any believer can disbelieve and get a save by using a move action. Or dealing/taking damage.

Hemiantus comes back empty-handed from his search and sheathes his sword.

"Who knows where that guy disappeared to."

Upon hearing Medghar's comments he notes, "Let's not be to harsh with the old man. Probably was just having a bit of fun at our expense. No need to go all Cheliax on him."

"Too bad we didn't bring the woman along with us as a guide. She could have just taken us there. I thought it was just a matter of following the map."

Hemiantus shrugs, "That sounds as good as any other method."

He looks around at the rest of the group. "Anyone have the alarm spell memorized? I personally abjure abjuration magic, heh, heh, hee."

The half-elf chuckles to himself as he unloads the donkey he has been leading. After he finishes, he looks around for a place where the animals can forage for some food. His rat familiar is out of its satchel and sitting on his shoulder grooming herself.

The grump immediately drops from the eyes and attitude of the gnome.

"Campfire, thought you would never ask!" Medghar proceeds to start gathering and strategically arranging logs, twigs, dried leaves and grass, and even a few dead bushes into an ever increasing pile. Placing the final log in its preordained spot, and ensuring a ring of sizable rocks are around the kindling, Medghar beams triumphantly at his fellows. The final product is twice as tall as the gnome himself...

<Time to get this pyre started!>

The gnome rubs his hands together eagerly, then pulls them apart, a bright fire appearing in between his palms. Using his daily use of Produce Fire from his racial. The gnome carefully pushes the blaze into the dry kindling in several sections, igniting the blaze. Finally satisfied that the fire has started, Medghar withdraws from close proximity and sits down and looks at it.

"I am afraid the best I can do for security is to set this blaze. Never had time for learning all that fancy defense stuff... was too busy learning more practical things."

Once dinner is made and the tents set up Erald says, "Right first watch for me and Bez, I'll wake Hemiantus in a couple of hours," taking a seat on a nearby log. In the flickering light of the fire the shadow of a goat can be seen flicking through a spell book while a human shadow on all fours licks itself inappropriately.

With no civilization in sight you come to a small clearing, quickly establishing a camp. Medghar's blaze lashes the night sky, abolishing the bone cold of the bare trees.

You are fairly sure you are following the map correctly, and some of you seem better at finding soft spots of ground to set up tent than others. A hot meal and evening of study seems to be quite manageable.

But there is an endless howling of wolves as the crescent moon sets. Over the first hours of night it seems to get louder and louder before eerily being silenced...

"Erm, that's a bit high, don't you think, Medghar?" When it's obvious that the gnome is not listening, Hemiantus begins clearing back any dry sticks and twigs that might be too close to the fire, not wishing it to spread and engulf the forest around them.
