^^ Truth.

You have been busy while I was running a game in the local lodge and sleeping!

GMG |

Thank you Dekion, I completely missed that. And I agree: use it ASAP, so you can pass it on. That way every table gets to use it .

Busy holiday weekend. Will try to post from phone but will be sporadic. Bot as necessary to move things along. In combat I usually won't overextended myself from group and will make a standard attack.

I'm so sorry about not posting this weekend. I got a call Friday saying my grandma had been rushed to the hospital and spent the weekend with her and my family. Luckily she will be ok and it wasnt as bad as she had thought. Sorry again. I will get a full post up here in a bit.

GMG |

No problem Vash. I am glad things seem to be going ok for her. Real life happens and is more important than gaming.

GMG |

Thanks for the compliment Dekion. I think I will have my 4th star in approximately a year from now.

We are doing fine on time. Know that a single table will never get to do all the encounters in a special, there are simply too many of them.

When I ran this at a Con in Feb my 7-8 table actually did make it through every encounter. The 11-12 table missed one (mainly because they started playing with their food).
But generally yes.

We tend to have a good record with specials at our cons. But that is also due to the fact that we don't stick to the 5 hour slot ;-)

GM - at what point in time will you bot people? Posting every other day or less is not going to get us very far in this special. We have been on this battle for a week and are only half way through the 3rd round :(

GMG |

I am botting if I have no post within 24 hours after I gave the PC the opportunity to act.
That might also depend on my posting schedule. For instance I was able to post yesterday morning, but had a local game yesterday night and a busy day at work without possibility to squeeze in a post this morning.

Oil of daylight is the best: also works against deeper darkness (if you bring a sunrod)

Belvica, I would be surprised if you have the required fame to buy a +2 weapon at lvl 4. A +2 weapon costs 8300 gp + weapon cost, requiring 27 fame or more. When upgrading an item you still need to be able to meet the required fame score for the final item.
Belvica, can you comment on this? I just noticed that you use a cold iron +2 weapon, which puts the price even higher. Until I have received a reaction I will assume this was a mistake and treat your axe as being a +1 cold iron weapon.

GMG |

Thank you Belvica, can you double-check (and adjust) your profile? With 28 fame I would expect you to have at least 28/2 = 14 xp, which means level 5 or higher.
Please scan your chronicles and inventory sheet once you have checked your profile and send me a link, so I can double-check.

How would it destroy the Darkness in this situation. It looks to me like the Darkness is centered on the caster (or an item carried by the caster), so if we popped an Obscuring Mist, wouldn't the caster simply need to move out of the mist?

![]() |

It levels the playing field. It's really a deeper darkness tactic against things with sneak attack, but it works anywhere.
With darkness - you are essentially at a 50% miss chance and invisible opponents everywhere. With an additional obscuring mist, you get a 20% miss chance, and the guy that can see can't see beyond 5' to know where you are.

![]() |

I get that, but I'm not sure it's so useful in this situation. Darkness has a duration of (likely at least) 3 minutes for this caster. If we dropped an Obscuring Mist, wouldn't he just have to Withdraw out of the mist—taking the Darkness with him—and we're right back in the same situation?
I'm not saying Obscuring Mist isn't a creative solution to some Darkness/visibility situations, I just don't see that it would have been our "I win" card in this situation.

Belvica, can you do this on short notice? Thanks!

Because you think we'll struggle to incapacitating the spell caster? or because you think we're better suited to the task of seeking?
I just want to make sure I understand your suggestion (because I'm more-or-less fine either way).

![]() |

I'm fine either way, but I agree seeking might be the better path. The casters don't necessarily need to be killed though, it sounds like talking is an option. We've got diplomacy and we've got intimidate, it shouldn't be a problem.

GMG |

We are coming close to the finish, so I want to prepare chronicles.
I am missing the following information:
Belvica: PFS number
Kiddrik: PFS number and Day Job roll (if applicable)
Vash: PFS number
Can you provide this? Thanks!
I assume you are all on normal advancement, if not this is the time to let me know.

Here it is. :)
