You're not quite sure what it is behind the door. Whatever is in that room is very agitated, but does not break through the door. It will continue to "growl" and bang on the door for a while. (Depends on how long you want to wait there)

Zeke checks the south door, and per the Hangouts discussion, finds that it is locked. He says, "Let's keep moving and leave this one be."

He looks to the others for agreement...


Ralof says, "Oh hell no... Whatever's in there, I'm pretty sure it needs to die, and it's going to die before I turn my back to it. Open it."

Ralof knocks a magic arrow and eyes the door.

Dylan replies "The animal is safely behind a locked door, I think we should leave it alone for now and clear out all of the intelligent creatures in this crypt."


The creature continues to bang at the door while you decide how to handle it.

(one thing of note, the key for this room is hanging up to the left of the doorway.)

Amendithas shrugs noncommittally, but tightens the grip on his sword handle.


Ralof says, "Oh alright, but we're coming back and killing it, and I'm taking this with me."

Ralof grabs the key off the wall, then gives the others an 'after you' gesture towards the east passage, and scowls as everyone walks by.

With Zeke's nice perception roll (counting dylans as an assist), you can just barely make out a voice in the distance to the north. It was a forceful tone, but due to the distance you cant make out what it says.

Shortly after hearing the voice, you hear (again faintly) the telltale sound of a door latching closed and locking.

Zeke whispers to the others behind him, "Sounds like someone down there just locked themselves behind a door. I heard a voice. Wait here, I'll check the prisoner room."

Zeke heads towards the south, semi-quietly, just far enough to peak into the room.

Ralof follows Zeke a little ways, but hangs back somewhat so as not to give Zeke away.

The south pits are as they had been left the night before. It doesn't seem as though there are any new "Deliveries" that came last night.

Zeke only takes a quick look in the pit room, then heads back to the intersection and says to the others as he walks right by them, with a bomb in one hand and an extract in the other, "No one in there."

Quite simply because three nat 20's on perception in a row is amazing

Maybe it's how the luminescent moss interacts with the Gnome physiology, or perhaps it's some sort of divine intervention at work, but you suddenly find yourself hearing and seeing things like never before. The heartbeats of your compatriots, the slow trickle of water running down the walls. The voice of Uglout speaking softly to someone behind the door. "Sumbody set off alarm. Dey coming."

You hear a second voice, "I know you idiot, now shut-up, and get ready!"

Until such time as you roll a natural 1 on a perception check, Zeke will be the benificiary of a divine +2 to your perception rolls

Zeke stops, suddenly, and holds his hand out to signal the others to stop, with
a finger of his other hand at his lips to signal them to be quiet, then waits perfectly still for a moment. Regardless of how quiet the others think they are, Zeke turns towards them and whispers angrily, "Shhhh! Quit making all that racket! I hear them... It's Uglout, and someone else - they heard us when we came in; they're waiting for us." He pauses a moment as if in deep thought, then says, "Let's wait for them, and ambush them back at the intersection!"

If there are no objections, Zeke directs Ammy back down the path we entered from, Ralof down the path to the pit room, and leads Dylan into the side passage, with Zeke at the north end, hiding where he can see them coming.

Ralof posts up just outside the pit room and readies a shot at the first thing he sees come around the corner.

Dylan objects to the plan saying "Zeke, we don't have to wait for them to come to us, we have a 3 day time table to get this done. I have Ammy beefed up, we are blessed, I can provide divine shielding to Ammy when he rages. I can silence the wizard if he is in there. Now get that door open unlocked and move behind Ammy and me. Ammy open the door and take out the orge. " Dylan will cast shield of faith on Ammy as Zeke unlocks the door.

Zeke pulls a small vial from his garment and drinks from it, after which he shrinks down to half his normal size, he then activates his hat to disguise himself as a small human child (if valid?)

He motions for the party to stay back a ways and remain quiet. He then moves quietly up to the door, examines it, listens, and barring any observed reason not to, attempts to unlock the door.

(______) Opens the door to see two humanoid zombies.. One obviously human, the other (DC5 Kn:Nature) would tell you it is used to be a goblin

He also sees Uglout standing in front of a small Derro that is hovering above the ground next to a large table. The table is one that can be adjusted vertically, and it is currently set at a near 60degree verticle angle. Attached to the table is a hideous amalgamation of a humanoid body, hastily sewn together.

The creature is currently confined by one final strap, which is held tightly by the hovering derro.

The Monster, unable to do anything at the moment remains strapped to the table.

Uglout appears with a fresh cut down his left cheek. He stares with an angry eye at the hero's as they open the door. Perhaps angry he was duped into releasing the prisoners. He starts to take a move forward, but a quick "Hold!" from Vreeg (the derro) and Uglout waits to release his action.

When Dylan opens the door, seeing the undead Dylan channels energy vs undead right away before entering.

Since Dylan was planning a spell, then Zeke would have used his surprise round action to open the door so that everyone else, including Dylan, can take a useful action during the surprise round. During the surprise round, everyone only gets one standard action or one move action, but not both. Opening the door is a move action for Zeke. So, prior to opening the door, the map would look like this:

After Zeke opens the door, Dylan can cast his spell, Ralof can fire an arrow, and Ammy can move into position for next round. I'm assuming Ralof is able occupy the sliver of hallway directly behind Zeke.

Ralof takes a shot at one of the Zombies.. (make sure you declare what one you are aiming at. Since it wont matter as they took the same damage from Dylan, I'll just pick #5 for you this round)

Ralof's arrow seems to get lost into the creatures awkward dead flesh. You can't quite tell if the arrow was as effective as it could be.

Vreeg and Uglout seem to be waiting for something before they go.

Kind of a 180 from the original plan of "When the Door Opens", but I realized I couldn't pull off what the original plans were.

As Amendithas moves into the room, Vreeg simply shouts "NOW!". Uglout howls with excitement and charges Ammy. (limited standard action charge)

He doesn't brandish a weapon, but instead try's to pummel you into submission

You've been hit by a punch before, but it's never quite felt as powerful as this. You feel your ribs crack just a bit under the blow of the grotesque fist.

As Uglout land's his blow, you see Vreeg pull the very last strap on the table (move action). The creature shakes free from his bonds as Vreeg lets out a sinister laugh. "Get them my pet!"

The creature (Trained Kn:Arcana) begins to move towards the battle. Anyone with a 15+ on their perception check notices the upper torso and right arm have similar tatoo's to the Shaonti lower body you found earlier in the crypt.

Within the first step, the hastily assembled creature begins to shake. The stitching around his knees gives way and the creature thumps to the ground in a disgusting slap. (This finishes the creatures movement)

Vreeg curses in a language you don't understand.

Zeke knows the creature to be an infamous Carrion Golem. It's an amalgamation of rotting flesh and bone that, usually, through careful construction and magic, can be animated to serve it's master.

This one has been hastily constructed, and it shows. The head is not aligned properly, the legs have already given out.

You know they are considered CONSTRUCTS.

In addition you are also aware that carrion golems are slowed by magical fire or ice.

Filling in Zeke's last action, and probably into his next turn, with some additional dialog:

Zeke says, "Dylan, that abomination is a magically animated golem; not undead. Magical fire or ice will slow him down." Zeke lobs his bomb yelling, "Out of my way!" then laughs at Uglout as his fist strikes the door, "Ha! How'd that feel?! Then turning back again towards Dylan, says with a wink, "... and I see it's been to see a Shaonti tatooist."


Ralof, make sure to put in your modifiers, so I know what accounts for what.

For example..
Shot1: 1d20 + 6 + 1 - 2 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 6 + 1 - 2 - 1 + 1 = 23 (PBS,RapidShot,DeadlyAim,Bless)

That way I know what effects are in place (BTW, you forgot bless for another +1 to attack I will account for that below)

Uglout regains his defense after leaving himself open during the charge. He has a visible irritated look on his face brought on by Zeke's taunting. He turns to swing at the tiny Gnome before him.

The Goblin Zombie vanishes from sight. Normally they explode into a pile of ash when destroyed, so this seems odd.

Ammy decides to direct his attentions to the monster crawling on the floor. He moves in and strikes with a powerful blow.

Vreeg is noticeably upset. With Uglout gone.. he casts a defensive measure upon his person. (Spellcraft DC17)

Outside of Dylans torch radius to the west, the moss disappears behind a wall of darkness. However, inside a twenty foot radius around Dylan, there is light enough to see.

Vreeg curses out the well prepared Cleric.

We now have two overlapping radiuses at play here, Just be aware that if you go outside of Dylans radius it may be in a darkness effect. I tried putting it on the map but it was too cluttered.

Zeke Shoves a bomb into Uglouts deformed body, and gets out of dodge causing some nice damage (killing a zombie in the splash zone)

Dylan Casts a hold person on Uglout rendering him helpless as he walks by. (taking an AoO from the golem as he does so)

Ralof fires two arrows at the helpless Uglout, dropping him to the ground

Ammy moves up to attack the sickening creature on the ground for some deadly damage

Uglout bleeds some more. (stabilizing rolls are pointless I guess due to the arrow) Rounds of bleed left: 4

Vreeg trys casting darkness but seems dissatisfied with the results.

The monster gets some revenge on Amendithas by hitting him hard.. (fort save pending)
