Darvik Harrin |

Since it appears the battle at the doorway is full, Darvik will search the fallen guard for anything of use or importance that wasn't overly obvious.

Round 8 action for Darvik
As Darvik checks over Tubby's corpse, he notices the leather club that Gregor had dropped when he picked up the sword laying a couple feet beside the dead guard. There's also a signal horn laying beside him where he apparently dropped it when he was felled by the fiendish bird.
The guard himself is wearing leather armor (which will take a few rounds if you intend to strip him down) and has 19 crossbow bolts in a case on his belt along with a dagger tucked under the armor (not visible to the naked eye unless you pat him down).

Darvik Harrin |

Darvik will grab the dagger for himself. There are bolts over here. You could use those! Darvik will pick them up and will give them to the crossbow wielder when the opportunity presents itself. There is a club here also. Darvik will call to the next person coming out of the cell.

Gregor Kardoff |

Gregor shouts at Avignen. Use the bolts or the club but dont break that crossbow.
seeing the one guard head to get help, and knowing theres only 1, he will back up a step but no further and go full defense. 5' step back and AC jumps to 18
as he moves back he grins...well come on pig humper come git me! he goads...

GM Fyren |

as he moves back he grins...well come on pig humper come git me! he goads...
that sounds like a bluff if you want him lulled into your trap, no? ;) After all, all Jed has to do is sit tight until a whole pile of them come charging up the stairs and he's a hero for holding all of you off... lol

Darvik Harrin |

Quickly making a choice, Darvik does as asked, well, commanded, and brings Avingen the weaponry. Put it to good use and let's get the hell out of this dump.

Everyone's free of their chains! Jasper finishes unlocking Morlos and turns around to find the halfling has vanished off somewhere.
In the guard-room, Kemet heeds Jed's advice and heads to the stairs, tootling the signal horn the entire way with three sharp blasts at a time.
Secondary Guards' Perception: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (4) - 2 = 2
Those lazy bastards are likely busy gettin' drunk at the guardhouse! I'll be right back with help Jed - hold them off!.
Jed grunts his assent grinning as he watches Gregor start to wobble a bit on his feet. He doesn't seem fazed a bit as Avingen joins the fight. Darvik runs up behind Gregor and passes over the weapons to Avingen along with more crossbow bolts. The fighter loads another bolt in his crossbow and debates whether to try and shoot Jed or club him...
Watching Gregor fall back, Jed moves up to finish him off as he watches for an opening in Gregor's defense...
Attack, Leather Club: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Damage (non-lethal): 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
...which he gets when Gregor drops his sword arm for an instant. Jed swings his club with practiced accuracy and catches Gregor square in the chin. 12 pts non-lethal total so far Gregor.
and thats fer callin' us pig humpers! He glances over at Avingen - You're next boy! Unless you run back to your cell like a good little inmate.
Post away for your round 9 actions. Any wagers on whether Gregor falls next round? ;)

Morlos Hesani |

Morlos shakes the grime from his body from siting too long, as he heads for the door. He shakes his head, gritting his teeth, as his eyes momentarily roll back again, as he fights against the nastiness of what "purifying" magic is here, drawing on the deep, devilish powers of his ancestry to truly cleanse the fools in their way.

umm... doesn't your channel have a 30' range? Check the map... ;) 1 square = 10' so unless you plan on teleporting and casting... it'd be a waste, no?

Jasper Vraxis |

Jasper motions to the tiefling and begins running down the hall, still holding the keys. "If we're lucky, they might have left someone alive for us."
Just double movin'; nothin' to see here...

Gregor Kardoff |

Shaking the cobwebs from his head, Gregor takes a step diagonally backwards getting next to Darvik, and away from the beating, as he does so he extends the longsword saying Take it Darvick and drop the dagger, Ill pick up the knife, its more my style anyway. and he takes up a defensive stance once again.
5 foot step diagonally back and next to Darvik. hand him longsword move action. Pick up dagger if he drops it move action and full defense AC 18

Avingen |

Avingen grins at the guards overconfidence, "You'll find this "boy" just can't take orders." and engages.
Coming in with his club, he and the guard exchange a few swings, when suddenly Avingen takes advantage of the guard's over extention and tries to trip him further into the room.
Combat Maneuver - Trip vs CMD: 12

Jed is now prone
Grabbing a hold of the guard's leather jerkin, Avingen levers him over his extended leg and deposits him in a heap on the ground in front of Gregor and Darvik.
Flashing a grin at his two fellow inmates, Avingen sprints out of the room in pursuit of the other guard at the stairs.

Darvik Harrin |

Be glad to trade. As suggested, I will take the longsword while either dropping the dagger or handing to him, whichever (if any) would allow me to attack.
If I can attack this round, I will. If not, save the rolls for the time when I can. Rolling to save time.

Rnd 9 Summary
Map at End of Rnd 9
As Jasper and Morlos rush out to help Gregor and the rest with the guards, the halfling happily scampers about apparently oblivious to the action around him. Charles, I moved you fwd but still out of reach. Let me know if you had something else in mind.
Gregor stinging from the beating he's received from Jed backs up acknowledging defeat for once and hands his longsword to Darvik hoping the mage will have better luck with it. They exchange weapons while Jed and Avingen exchange insults.
Avingen takes advantage of the guard's overconfidence and trips him as Jed reaches out to swing at him. Darvik takes advantage of the guard being on the ground and stabs the sword into his side. Blood gushes out from Jed's wound as he screams in agony on the ground, his overconfidence apparently forgotten. Jed has 3hp left
Does he manage to stand?: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 4 - 2 = 8 Guess not...
Kemet watches the tide of battle turn as he makes his way to the bottom of the stairs and tootles the horn yet again trying to get somebody... anybody's attention and warn them of the uprising.
Secondary Guards' Perception: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0 Are you f*&^ng! kidding me?!
Avingen, determined to shut up the annoying tootling once and for all, chases after Kemet before he can rouse the rest of Branderscar.
Post away for round 10. I can't believe my luck with that darn horn... :(

Darvik Harrin |

Darvik sees the man down at his feet and looks to finish him off, however Jed managed to squirm out of the way of the blade. Somebody help me finish this fool off so we can get the hell out of here.

It really sucks to not have access to the maps because of being on a smart phone.
Once Morlos is in range, he'll try to assist with that channel (if you'll let me use his roll from before).
Once you move closer to the group as your move action this round, you should be able to channel. I'm ok with the earlier rolls being used.
Btw Group Brimstone won the meta-challenge and made it off the level tonight. I hope they like their latest gameplay post... ;)

Being as evil as they are....I bet they cheated :)
Avingen sees the other guard descending the stairs tooting his horn, seeking help.
Sprinting, Avingen flies down the stairs and jumps the guard.
Combat Maneuver - Grapple
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Avingen growls in frustration as the guards turns out to be more agile than he thought, slipping out of his grasp.

Jasper Vraxis |

Jasper hears the horn, and he growls in frustration. "Oh, no you don't!" He darts forward, skidding to a halt just behind Gregor, and with a few gestures, attempts to call forth another monster. But the buzzing of the antimagic field is too distracting, and the magic fizzles out before he can finish casting.
Second use of my SLA; leaves me with 5 uses for the day, plus eidolon if I can get 10 rounds free. Sucks that it didn't work!

The majority of the gang rushes towards the guardroom while Gregor manages to stick a dagger into poor Jed's chest. The guard on the ground howls like a stuck pig before collapsing with a final shudder.
Morlos's aura makes Gregor feel a touch better Gregor heals 2 pts to 5/15 hp. Rest of you are already at full health. The second guard is too far away to be sickened and Jed is dead - poor dead Jed.
Avingen tries to grapple the second guard but little does he realize that Kemet was the local wrestling champion in his village growing up. He easily slips out of the big fighter's grasp and retaliates with his club...
Attack, Leather Club: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Damage, non-lethal: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
...which catches Avingen on the hip with a sharp stinging *SMACK*. Turning away, he heads the rest of the way down the stairs and reaches the door. which he will open and run through next round unless stopped.
I'll update the map sometime tomorrow but to give everyone an idea of where you are - one guard left who is running to get help. Avingen can move and attack him. Darvik and Gregor are a double move away from him but if *ONE* of you wants to try something dramatic like leaping off the stairs to try and tackle him at the risk of breaking your own neck, I'll allow it for one individual (since there wouldn't be room for 2 PCs to try such a maneuver. Let me know what, if anything, you want to try and we can go over the rolls etc. Morlos/Jasper/Charlie are 3 move actions away from the guard.

Avingen |

The guard slips his clever arm hold and makes for the door. Avingen, having taken the measure of the guard's wrestling abilities pounces once again
Combat Maneuver, Grapple vs CMD 12
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Avingen succeeds in grasping the guard by the shoulder and gets an arm round him, halting his progress to the door.

Jasper Vraxis |

Jasper moves forward, already muttering the summoning words again. He concentrates harder this time, doing his best to overcome the buzzing in his head.
Concentration: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
His face darkens with anger as he finds himself simply unable to overcome it. Damn this field!
So all I managed this round was another move action (30 feet, towards the guard) and another waste of a spell-like ability...

Avingen grabs Kemet and stops him from running out the door at the bottom of the stairs and is soon joined by Darvik and Gregor who come running up to assist their fellow prisoner.
Jasper tries yet again to use his magic to summon another demon animal but the buzzing in his brain is just too distracting - or perhaps it was Charlie stomping around hollering for his belongings back that distracted the summoner...
Morlos ignores the two and goes running after the rest of the group appearing at the top of the stairs just in time to watch the guard drop his club and horn as he tries to squirm out of Avingen's grasp. Git off o' me ya big oaf!
Break Grapple: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Throwing the burly man off of him, Kemet reaches out once again and slams the door open, preparing to run out into the corridor.
Morlos is a single move action away from the door. Jasper and Charlie are a double move away. The door is open and is stretches out into a dimly lit corridor.

Morlos Hesani |

Morlos shakes his head in frustration. "So DANG SLOW!" He shakes his head to clear it of the nastiness that he and his fellow caster were experiencing. "Bugger and burn it all! Kill them all so we can get the Hells out of here."
He continues attempting to follow his fellows.

Jasper Vraxis |

Jasper throws his hands in the air in frustration, his failure to draw on magic draining him. He runs toward the guard, knowing he won't be of much use, but damnit, maybe there's something he can do.
Double-move.

Darvik Harrin |

Darvik will continue to chase after everyone and sees that Gregor looks to have finally brought the guard down. OK, Charlie does have a point concerning our belongings. If there are no more guards to worry about we should see if we can locate them.

GM Fyren |

Gregor's dagger hits home as the Kemet's innards spill out. The guard collapses, one hand still on the open door leading to the corridor beyond.
The door to the corridor at the bottom of the stairs is currently open. Peering into the hallway without really stepping in to it, you can see it is rather dimly lit, the only source of illumination coming from flickering torches held in sconces in walls on either side. low-light vision
Combat Ends for the time being. Approx. 40 hours left till your sentence is carried out. Door at the bottom of the stairs is currently open. Post as normal.

Avingen |

Avingen reaches out to grab the guard again before he stiffens with the length of Gregor's dagger tearing his lungs out.
Watching the man slump to the floor, he catches Gregor's eyes and nods. He the quietly reaches out and closes the door at the bottom of the stairs.
"Yes, lets find our gear or at the least strip these idiots of their gear..." he says , grabbing the newly deceased guard and hauling him back up the stair.
Once there, he begins to divest the corpse of all gear.

Jasper Vraxis |

"I wouldn't mind staying here for a minute or so," Jasper says calmly, now that the immediate danger has passed. "I have an... ally, of sorts, and if I can call them in here, they could be useful to us. But I do need some time to concentrate."

Gregor Kardoff |

Gregor nods and looks down the corridor before shutting the door and saying Right I could use one of these idiots armor as well. Back upstairs for the moment. Charlie grab one of the daggers and stand guard at the top of the stairs til we're set then we can begin looking in earnest. Morlos, you want to check the other cells and see whos in the prison with us?
Gregor picks out the guard most matching in size and begins stripping him of armor.
