Could Storn give us a channel energy group hug before we go to sleep?

![]() |

Storn's lice are mighty and will not succumb to mere 'baths' whatever those are.
And yeah, I'm at a work event all weekend and thoguht I'd have more time to post than I have. The coming week will see me return to regular volum.e
And channel energy is provided.

![]() |

Yeah, Zoog, good to hear you're fine.

![]() |

Sorry, but Wuliem isn't exactly the most sociable character.
He is used to his dank basement lab. Having a Cha 7,
I pictured him unpolished when it comes to interacting with others,
although he does seem to be coming out of his shell since adventuring...lol.

And don't feel bad about Storn wasting the buff. Four games in its the first time I've used it and I have six per day.

GM FurtiveZoog |

Hi All,
I am probably going to take a little break from GMing after this one, for Christmastime reasons, general burnout, and the fact that I still haven't found/picked a good scenario. (It will not be "The Beggar's Pearl" because I am in it right now and I happen to like you guys.)
But, there is apparently a new PbP gameday starting up in January, and I would like to GM one then. So, we could take a short break with this group after this one and then start up another in January for the gameday. (It's hard to tell how much this one has left - a week or so?)
What do you think?
(Scenario suggestions are still being taken, too!)
~~ Matt

GM FurtiveZoog |

Well, you could use Wuliem, but if he is tied up in an adventure that doesn't end in time then you wouldn't be able to use him in the next; characters can only be in one adventure at a time.
I don't know if it is a possibility for you, but once this one is done, you could use him in a table game easily since those start and end in a day.

![]() |

Sounds okay to me Zoog. I have been reducing my games, with the hope of GMing another campaign, so I was going hiatus anyway. I may or may not join up when you reconvene after the holidays. Any scenario is fine wit me.

![]() |

@Wuliem: There's an awful lot of PFS games going up here on the boards. And usually there on a first come first serve basis. That was kinda my plan for Farg just look around and join games once they pop up. Of course I'd also be happy to continue gaming with you guys.

![]() |

Just remember that being in one game will preclude you from joining another as long as the first lasts.
Herman - Completely understood, although I would miss both you and Herman. I need to restrain myself from joining as many games as I would like, and, indeed, had to decline that one of yours. :-\
Just let me know when you're ready and I'll see if I can make room for it.

![]() |

Yeah, Hagan has the survival instincts of a lemming apparently. So those who are more observant should probably give a heads up to the rest of us schmoes. :-)
At the moment, he thinks these guys are fine folks.

GM FurtiveZoog |

Hey, we topped 500 posts for the gameplay thread, which is a record for me I think, although we're not as talkative on the discussion thread as others. I hope that everyone has had fun and it doesn't seem too long or drawn out. :) I've had a lot of fun with this one and this group.
Perhaps, since we are approaching the end, we should get a little ahead and make any day job checks now (or let me know that you don't have one to make).
You can also post purchases here, including those made with prestige points, if you would like the formal record.

![]() |

Didn't seem drawn out at all to me! I've enjoyed myself. Sadly due to powergaming too much with Farg he has no perform, profession or craft skill. Can I roll an untrained perform skill?
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

GM FurtiveZoog |

Sadly, no untrained skills rolls count.
IMO, I don't know if putting points into earning skills is worth it in PFS, but I really haven't done the math up through the levels. That said, it can be very important for alchemists and for role-playing purposes. (My Profession (Sailor) actually helped out in a scenario!)
I guess, up to level 12, you would have (12-1*3) 33 opportunities to use it playing single scenarios, and would have a maximum skill modifier of about 9 at level 1, to the low 20's at level 11, or 14 to mid-high 20's with Crafter's Fortune (a +5 to Craft skill checks that works with Day Job rolls). This would give Take 10's of 24 to, say, 38, earning 20 to 100 gp, respectively. Back of the envelope, I would see you earning 2000 - 3000 over the course of a career, maxing out your skill, but you could also get about half that much with a single point in the skill. You would earn less gp, of course, if it isn't a craft skill and/or you don't have Crafter's Fortune. It's also possible that rolling would, on average, earn more gp, but I don't really have the means of testing that, at the moment. (There was a lot of guesswork there, and I certainly might have messed up somewhere, too.)

I will put a skill point into a perform skill... not doing so seems kinda dumb in retrospect!

Herman sings for his supper when not out Pathfinding. The tails he can tell, of the treachery in the longhouse, of the porcelain doll, and the goblins poo-flinging all make for terrific entertainment when back in Absalom.
Perform (sing): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24

Hagan stood in front of a small gathering of people. He used his dagger to carve a simple mark representing a bow, a symbol that would mark this tree as a shrine to Old Deadeye.
He turned toward his gathered congregation. They were simple folk, looking for a better way, and he would guide them as best he could.
“The first gift you ever receive is your family.”
The congregation repeated the mantra.
“That saying was one of the first things taught to me as a child.” Hagan smiled. ”Usually when I was yelling at my sister.”
His congregation laughed.
“I am a priest of Erastil. We are not given to flowery words, or lengthy lectures. I suspect that’s why many of you worship here, rather than spend several hours each week in the church of Sarenrae,” he said good-naturedly.
The congregation laughed again.
”But these words are important, and worth saying. Family is the first gift. But it is not the last. After family we find friends. And after friends we find companions. And from companions we build community. The bonds that bring us together should be celebrated.”
Hagan smiled.
“You’d be surprised how often you find good people. Let me tell you about some new companions I’ve made. Let me tell you of Herman the Bold, of Farg the Strong, of Wuliem the Loyal, of Storn the Stalwart and of Jani the Unbound.”
”Let me tell you about heroes..."
Profession (Priest): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

Thanks, guys. Appreciate it. Decided to write this as a small thank you to everybody for my first PBP experience.

Hi all,
I hate to say so since we are almost done, but I may be less responsive over the next few days because my wife is getting antsy about some upcoming holiday or another. I don't know - gotta check my calendar...
Anyways, she pointed out that she is the one - not my online gaming friends - who is going to be taking care of me when I'm older. (Given my age, it is not as idle a threat as one my imagine.)
So, we'll see how it goes. :)
~~ Matt

GM FurtiveZoog |

Thanks!
And a (belated) Winter Solstice, a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, A Thoughtful 10 Days of Newton, and a Merry Christmas (Orthodox Calendar) to everyone!
~~
I still haven't decided on the next scenario. I might go old school again with "Pathfinder Society Scenario #4: The Frozen Fingers of Midnight", although it is OGL and so will require a touch of updating. Why? Well, after looking through scenario reviews eventually my eyes grew blurry and I said, "Hey, how about this one?"
I've also thought about "Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-21: The Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment (PFRPG) PDF", but although very highly rated and kind of legendary, it seems to have a love-hate relationship to it. (I think Herman (as GM DoctorEvil) has run that one, however.)
They are fairly short page-wise in those days, so it is possible that they also take less time to run. I don't really know. It would be fun to do one perhaps two during the next 'gameday'.

DM DoctorEvil |

I have not run 3-21 Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment, but am currently running (and liking quite a bit) 00-4 Frozen Fingers of Midnight. If the group wants to run that one, Herman can sit out. If you choose another scenario, then I am all in.
I also salute Hagan for his RP of the day job check. Welcome to PbP. Even though the dice didn't always go your way, it was fun to have you. YOu are welcome in my games anytime! (same for any of the rest of you!)

Hi Jani,
Well, I was hoping to GM one for the next online Gameday, which is rumored to be starting sometime in January. (I am also going to have this one count for the last online gameday.)
I am hoping to be able to wait for the Gameday since I want to be a part of it but I don't know whether I am going to be up for GMing two scenarios again at the same time for awhile.
So: done with this in a few days, then a few days for me to get the Chronicles together, then ... a week or three until the gameday?
Here is something that was posted last Thursday:
We will definitely have a "postmortem" survey after PbP Game-Day # 1 ends.
The next game day will start in January - we will have a more definite date for you early next week, after the Monday VO meeting.
After that - the next PbP Game Day will be summer(ish) 2014, so roughly one every 6 months going forward.
We are also looking at doing Specials, like Siege of the Diamond City, in PbP format - we are working out the details this week, for those.
Next week we will open the rough drafts for PbP Event guidelines, as well as guidelines for Online PbP Specials, for community feedback.
We will take feedback for about a week or two and then use those guidelines for PbP Game Day # 2.
Reporting games throughout the event, as apposed to reporting all at the end, has already been incorporated for Game Day # 2.
So, it sounds like we should know anytime now.

GM FurtiveZoog |

Hey, that's good to hear.
Yeah, I feel rushed since I have two characters I need to level and one character I need to finish up in the next few days, and I am really slow about such things.
~~
The Map is fixed. One of the perils for me of running two campaigns at once is accidentally cross-posting maps. It must have confused Hagan since 'he' is in both of them.
