Kendra agrees: "Being hasty could have let to injury, or worse. Being shut in has no immediate danger, so calmth was the right course of action, I believe."
She looks at her lit sunrod.
"At least now we'll have light"

"Okay, if you say so. You go up front and be considerate. I'll be at the back hastily retreating if something unexpected happens." Jominda replies. "And I'm not going in through any of these doors again before they are destroyed."
She takes out her mace and starts bashing at the hinges of the door to remove it.
The doors here are not at their best condition. Actually they are rotten and the one Jominda works at gives in pretty easy falling off the hinges and to the floor.
"Taking apart the doors might be a good idea, actually." Kendra says, but does not move to help - she feels she would be of little aid there. Instead, she walks to one of the other doors that was half-opened and peers through the crack.
first not fully closed door on the right
The door opens into a corridor. A wall of stone to the right, and a row of iron bars to the left. Several rows of wooden benches, all spotted with mold and sagging with neglect, are behind the bars facing a stage in this corridor. On the opposite side of the corridor is a heavy metal door that is standing ajar.

"Sure. Once you removed the door." Jominda states. She drags the front door away and then moves to the door Kendra is at. And kicks it.

Kicking the door right off it's hinges and into the corridor.
"After you." Jominda says with a slight bow and pointing her arm in the direction.
Perception Kendra:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
The temperature in the corridor suddenly drops but as Kendra notices it it is already too late.
Fort Save:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21 Negative energy damage:1d6 ⇒ 4
The cold really hurts and draws energy out of Kendra.
Kendra's teeth start to chatter and she hugs herself to keep as warm as she can. "Did it just become a lot colder here?" she asks, as frost seems to form on her eyelashes and hair.

Seeing the hoar frost on Kendra's lashes she states "Let's see if that can be helped with fire." Jominda grabs a small vial from her pocket, pushes the pill on top of it through the lid with her thumb. Shaking and throwing it is one motion and as it hits the wooden stage it explodes and sets the stage on fire.
Ranged Touch vs AC5:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 Fire:1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
The stage catches fire and continues to burn.
"I-I'm n-not sure", Kendra chatters, "B-b-but I don't mind it that much." Standing close to the door and getting warmed by the fire is a big plus in her book.

Jominda looks at the two but curiosity gets the better of her. As the flames are burning low she runs and jumps over the podium to see what's behind the door.

The small vault contains some items. All of them are tagged with information as to their former owners. They are
- a bloodstained handaxe (The Lopper - Vance Saetressle)
- a collection of holy symbols (Father Charlatan - Sefick Corvin)
- a moldy spellbook (The Splatter Man - Hean Feramin)
- a smith's hammer (The Mosswater Marauder - Ispin Onyxcudgel)
- a tarnished silver flute (The Piper of Illmarsh)

"You just got lucky. No need to boast about that." Jominda replies sticking her tongue out at Jorfa's back. But she follows immediately to look over Jorfa's shoulder.
Kendra thinks on how much she knows on all these people and their irems - and if a curse might be bound to them.

Jorfa doesn't really react to Jominda's comment. "What do you guys think we should do with these items?", Jorfa asks, "At first I'd say they may come in handy, but based on what has happened so far I think we should just leave them well alone."

"What are these things?" Jominda asks and grabs the book as the other items are of no real interest to her. She opens it and flips through the pages - as far as possible with all the mold.
At a page she finds interesting she stops to take a closer look. But then she lets out a high pitched scream and lets go of the book that drops to the ground. Jumping back and pointing to the book she tells with a shaking voice "The book knows who I am! It's writing my name in blood on the margins of the page."
"I d-don't t-think it w-would be s-s-ssafe to use these items, unless we can some-somehow... c-cleanse them of the t-ta-taint?" Kendra gives Father Grimburrow a questioning glance. "I t-think we s-s-should assume fffor now that they mi-might all be c-c-cursed."
Kendra hops and skips past the dying flames into the room with Jominda and Jorfa. Ispin Onyxcudgel was a well-liked artisan
and a doting husband. When he discovered his wife’s
infidelity, he f lew into a jealous rage and struck her dead
with his hammer, shattering her skull and his sanity with
one murderous blow. Wracked with shame and guilt, Ispin
became convinced that if he could rebuild his wife’s skull
she would come back to life—but unfortunately, he could
not find the last blade-shaped fragment from the murder
site. So instead, Ispin became the Mosswater Marauder.
Over the course of several weeks, the cunning dwarf
stalked and murdered nearly 20 people while searching for
just the right skull fragment. He was captured just before
murdering the daughter of a visiting nobleman from Varno,
and was carted off to Harrowstone that same night.
"Oh, I know that one." she points at the Smith's hammer. "The old owner went mad with grief and murdered a ton of people." She looks around. "Then he got put in here."
"Honestly I think we should destroy these items.", Jorfa suggests, "These items clearly belonged to bad people. I agree with Jominda that everything in this place seems cursed; probably because of what the people here have done."

"Shall we move on?" Jominda asks and leaves the room again. She takes a look at the room through the bars. Obviously the way there leads through the foyer again. And so she walks there.
A short moment after Jominda enters the foyer the ghostly burnt faces of the prisoners fly in and through her again and the doors slam shut. The ones that have still doors - the passage to the others and the entrance in the building don't.

"Eeeeek!" Jominda voices startled. "Father Grimburrow? You have to have an idea how to get rid of these ghosts. You're the expert on undead aren't you?"
