Are purchases still possible? The stoneskin, communal material component dramatically changed, so I wanted to buy more diamond dust. Also, I wanted to propose to all those who want that spell cast upon them to buy 200gp's worth of diamond dust (or more if several castings of the spell over the course of the tetralogy), since now the material component is 200 gp per target. Let me know how you feel about this. You're also more than welcome to suggest a moment when to cast it afterwards, of course.

Eliza searches through the Lodge's stores and find the items the party is interested in purchasing. Returning to the back, she points to the Maze. "Go now, we will compare notes after you investigate the Maze."

After final preparations, the party enters the Maze of the Open Road. The shadowy pathways stretch and turn, surely taking you outside the dimensions of the maze as viewed from the lodge’s rear lawn. The leafy walls virtually bristle with enchantment, and the atmosphere thrums with the sense that once inside the Maze of the Open Road, you have somehow left the mundane world behind.

At irregular intervals side paths branch off from your chosen corridor, leading who knows where. After several minutes the path widens to reveal a long causeway roofed by crumbling marble arches. Far up ahead the stone pathway opens onto a large plaza containing a handful of ruined stone structures, ancient buildings that look like abandoned temples. An enormous marble colossus of a robed figure looms upon a pedestal at the center of the courtyard, looking down upon a field of lifelike statues arrayed in a chaotic pattern. All bear terrified looks and are posed in grotesque defensive postures, arms out to stave off some unseen danger.

Seeing as no one else claimed the serpent necklace left in the Adril's room Zandu slips it on knowing that no pristine statue shall be gracing the halls of what ever lurks ahead.

since no one claimed it I will put the necklace on that gives a +10 vs petrification. AC now only 30. and will progress further behind(ish) the trap finder until something happens.

Karu strides boldly to the left, confident in the first direction chosen by the team. "Onward!"


Adaxis scouts ahead, but finds no tracks and sees nothing, but statues.

As Karu steps into the western courtyard, he sees that so damaged are the walls of this roofless structure that the building’s original purpose is impossible to determine. Amid the rubble within stand five statues of primitive human men, Mwangi warriors by the looks of them. Each wears a simple grass skirt and bone fetish necklaces, and each also bears a considerable length of chain.

Seconds after stepping into the area a sibilant female voice seems to come from the air around you, snaking its way into your brains without actually making a sound. “Ssssso many visitors! Sssso many men with weaponsss and murder on their minds. For yearssss and yearsss no one would visit Condria’sss garden. Ssssso many years. Ssssso lonely. But now you come in numberssss! With your ssscarlet cloaksss and your ssswords of ssteel. It issss good that you have come, for now you shall never leave!”

As the voice fades away the five statues begin turning to flesh and moving!

Adaxis changes his form and casts a spell on his companion. Mousebane tears into a cultist, dropping the yellow clothed one on its first attack.

To the north, everyone notices a huge shape appear out of the shadows. The creature appears to be a huge ape. Kynrac recognizes the ape as the same one he met before, at the Blakros Museum, but even larger than before!

Raising an eyebrow as the huge monkey as it barrels towards the back line Zandu narrowly avoids the chains of the man in front of him. "You know jump rope isn't a sport to use in combat" he says wagging his finger as he attempts to teach the man the error of his ways.

Karu stands up with some aid from Kynrac's Blessing of Fervor, dodging any retaliation from the beastmen. "Hah, been a while since I have seen that trick!" he comments to the beastman. "For that, I shall not hold back, but I shall not kill you either! Perhaps, you will come train with me?" he asks as he unleashes a flurry of blows at the man.

Sorry for the delay, we got water in our finished basement, causing me to have to tear our a bunch of our front walls to have it remediated, then we took a few days this past weekend to travel for fall break. I know I am an endless source of excuses, but things should be pretty solid for the next two weeks.

Kynrac conjures a bolt of dark energy and fires it at the giant ape. The bolt hits the huge creature, weakening it a bit!

With the cultists down, Atum, Adaxis, and Karu can retcon.

Seeing the large ape and a distinct lack of cultists, Karu decides to invoke his special eyes and scans the beast for signs of evil. "Now this is a challenge!" he proclaims.

If Evil, Karu will Smite Evil on the beast as a swift action.

"Atum, check this out!" the Champion says as he cracks his knuckles, kicks up a piece of stone at his feet and slams his fist into it, sending it rocketing towards the ape's face.

Adaxis drinks the potion of Enlarge and steps toward the ape. Mousebane flies around to flank (known trick from Animal Archive) with Adaxis and nips at its ankles.

Mousebane has Mobility feat and AC is currently 38 when passing through threatened squares. Adaxis and Mousebane uses BoF for AC.

The ape is indeed evil.

Karu does a bit of showing off as he kicks a rock into the air, then punches it toward the huge ape. The rock flies through the air and smacks the ape in the forehead! The beast lets out a mighty, indignant roar of anger.

Atum moves up and strike the great ape, giving it a vicious wound!

Adaxis drinks a potion, making himself larger, thus better to get into a pissing match with the great ape!

The Champion of Irori curls his hands around his mouth, steps forward and unleashes a spray of acid in a large cone as the man roars loudly, evoking a green dragon.

Karu cups his hands to his mouth and amplifies an acidic smelling, roaring belch-like boom at the simian monstrosity. Da'Tunga's eye widen and he bears his teeth and stick out his tongue, letting out a loud, deep screech as it appears shaken by such a loud noise coming from such a small rival. Despite his eye's watering, and nostrils flaring, the ape seems less effected by the stale, acidic breath. Shaken, not stirred staggered.
