GM Faelyn |
That'd be just fine, Padesat! Okay, so we have four already. Do you guys want to find more folks? Or just drive on with 4?
Also, Syllyn, if you'd like to play both Wounded Wisp and The Compact Consortium with Syllyn, you can do them both on the Slow Track so you wouldn't have to worry about burning your Level 2 Evergreen scenario. Just let me know before reporting so I can adjust at the end.
I'm off this weekend, so I will work on making sure I have everything ready to go for the Wounded Wisp and we will tentatively kick things off on Monday (11/14).
Syllyn |
Well, if it is open to other characters then I'm in too. Syllyn will bow out for the 4th evergreen and someone else will take his place.
GM Faelyn |
So the way the Evergreens work, is that you can run them an unlimited number of times (as opposed to only being able to participate in a given scenario once and only once); however, they have to be done with a different character each time. The only limit to that, is that an Evergreen can only be played one time period at 2nd level. So if you were to play the Consortium Compact at 2nd level with Syllyn, you could never run CC with a 2nd level PC again; however, you could still run it unlimited times with different PCs. Hopefully that makes things a bit more clear.
And you can run both the Wounded Wisp and Consortium Compact on the Slow Track to do both before you hit 2nd level if you'd like.
Syllyn |
Yea, I was just thinking that we were trying to keep the characters together and the offer was for the same characters. I'm definitely in if I can switch out to a different 1st level character. Like most of us I have too many ideas to ever run out of first level characters to start up.
GM Faelyn |
Ohhhh, I definitely misunderstood! Originally I was hoping to run all the same characters through together, but with the attrition we've suffered I have no issue with folks swapping out PCs as we go through. So if you have a different PC you'd like to take through either of these scenarios that is no problem! Just make sure to update me with your PFS numbers for reporting.
Speaking of... if everyone could please repost their character names and PFS #s with a Dayjob check! Also, let me know if you want to gather a few more people for Wounded Wisp or just go with what you have.

Juhnavi Ahliwylia |
Could you mark my characters as inactive for this game? I'd like to remove it from my list of campaigns. Thanks! Sorry I can't keep up with it. Not enough time in the day.
GM Faelyn |
You got it, Juhnavi.
Syllyn |
5 characters for a scenario is my favorite number, but I am not opposed to any number greater than 3.
GM Faelyn |
Igor that roll you just made will be for The Wounded Wisp Chronicle Sheet. I like have it all ready to go at the beginning so I can work on the sheets during the scenario.
Also, would the rest of you fine folks chime in whether you want to roll on with 4 or recruitment more folks. I'm ready to begin as soon as I hear back on whether to recruit and push onward.
GM Faelyn |
Since I haven't heard anything about recruitment, we are just going to push forward with what we have. I don't want to sit around and wait too long and then people start losing interest. So, see the Gameplay thread for the beginning of The Wounded Wisp!
Syllyn |
I'm muddling through some character changes. Pretty minor ones, but worth mentioning I suppose.
GM Faelyn |
Hopefully everyone had/is having a happy holiday!
GM Faelyn |
Sorry on the delay all! Been sick the past few days and just had training down-state today for work (while sick). I'm a little beat, but feeling much better. I will get an update tomorrow!
Sune Wanderlust |
FYI, I'm taking a weekend trip with my beautiful wife to get away from the Utah cold. I'll be back on Tuesday.
Hopefully I don't miss much with it being a weekend, but I'm unlikely to post. Please bot me as necessary!
GM Faelyn |
Have fun, Sune! Enjoy the weekend.
GM Faelyn |
A thousand apologies for my absence the past few days; my son has been sick with the Norovirus. Friday he spent much of the day throwing up and I spent it cleaning that up several times. I'm just getting back into the swing of things this morning.
Igor of Caliphas |
GM Faelyn, This is just as a side note/recommendation for future games. I mention it now because you mentioned updating the map on the Gameplay thread. I used to love my Google Draw or Paint (I have even forgotten the name and I used it a lot), but Google Slides (it's like Power Point) is better. It's usable on phones which I find the current program is not--at least not on mine. And you can stack up your maps for use on different slides, and then just shuffle the whole slide to the top when you need to use them.
Here is a sample of the one I use for a Kingmaker game I run. The very last slide in the pile is there to show the software off. I've mentioned this before with other GMs who wanted to use Roll20 (which I hate because I waste so much time logging in while at work), or just post static pdf files of maps they moved people around on themselves (which is slightly creepy/controlling I think). Feel free to play with that last slide (click on stuff, move things around, paste a picture of your photo ID and bank account numbers in it, go crazy). The other slides are strictly look-but-don't-touch, please. The top one is actually live right now.
Basically Slides, it has all the functionality of what you are using (zoom, communal edit, layers, transparency, color change, borders, animated gifs, text, word balloons, hand-drawn lines to show movement if you want, etc... It even has mostly the same interface) and you can use it on pretty much every modern smart phone.
GM Faelyn |
I'll definitely give it a look, Igor. I tried playing around with the last slide as you mentioned on my iPhone, but I was not able to edit anything. I even tried going under Settings and selecting "Open Editor" with the same issue. Is this an issued with Apple software? Or am I missing a step somewhere that should be glaringly obvious to me?
Igor of Caliphas |
Do you have Google Slides on your device?
Alas, I haven't had too much to do with Apple products, not since I realized I needed a bent paperclip to eject my disc back in the 90s. It's design decisions like that that make the company as annoying to me as Walmart or Amazon or Facebook.
GM Faelyn |
That was the issue, Igor! I was thinking I could simply edit it via my Browers, but no such luck. I figured out how to open the slides in the App now via links. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely be switching over to Slides for all my maps!
Igor of Caliphas |
As you may have noticed the campaign thread update notification tracker thingie on the website isn't working. So... there's that.
GM Faelyn |
Unfortunately, yes, Igor. Thank you for posting that here. I'm eagerly awaiting the patch to be applied. Having to check every single thread numerous times a day has become quite irritating.
Sune Wanderlust |
Hey all, I will be on spring break with my family (Moab Utah).
My posting from Wednesday until Sunday will be spotty, though I hope to check in from time to time.
GM Faelyn |
Hey guys, sorry I haven't had a chance to work on reporting/chronicles yet... I had two very busy days at work and came home to a sick son. I will get both those done this weekend and the next we will prepare for the final scenario next week!
GM Faelyn |
Chronicle Sheets can be found here! Please let me know if there are any issues with them. Reporting now and then we will kick off the Consortium Compact on Tuesday. I will wrap up the Wounded Wisp shortly.
Syllyn |
I will not be available for the Consortium Compact. Syllyn is level 2 now and I've already played this at level 2.
GM Faelyn |
Okay, Syllyn, no worries. Do you have another PC that you'd like to run through it?
Syllyn |
Now there's a thought. Sure, I can manage to whip something up. I have nothing available at the moment, but there's always room for another new character. I'll get busy and get back to you when it's done.
GM Faelyn |
If you fine folks would like to bring a different PC for this last scenario, that is perfectly fine with me! Also, I'm going to try and keep a quicker pace when it seems you guys are done with certain aspects of scenarios.
Also, if you want, I can even do more "behind the scenes" kind of things to keep the pace up if you want. I feel like I dragged the "get to know the NPCs" section of Wounded Wisp out a little too long.
Just let me know when you all are ready to start the Consortium Compact. No rush.
Ling Chang |
Introducing Ling.
Ling has stats but no personality or picture (fitting, huh?)
He's from Dtang and an easterner, but that's all I got for now. Bed time!
Igor of Caliphas |
Igor is still 1st level, but I could easily swap him for someone even more annoying, like fellow Discworld-esque, toga-wearing, Epheban philosopher, and bare-knuckle tavern brawler Archimeles, or the big, hairy, slovenly, herb-friendly beachcomber known only as the Dude. ;)
Ling Chang |
We can deal with whatever you come up with, though I think the rest of us should buy something to smack him or her with like a baseball bat.
GM Faelyn |
Excellent! I'm fine with redoing your stats, Vii. Also, I concur that Igor is awesome and would be welcome at any game of mine!
I just need to verify that I have all my notes/maps squared away before we start tomorrow if you are all ready. For my returning players, if you could please post the pedigree information for me again for Chronicles.
Ling Chang |
Are we going to start up a new thread or should we post our character info here for the Consortium Compact?
GM Faelyn |
You can post all PC info here. We'll continue to utilize this thread. I will seek on getting this up a little later this morning.
