No worries - I just wish we had a healer in the party. The usefulness of your walls is amazing, but I'd still feel better if we had a dedicated medic... :)

As you can probably surmise, we are close to wrapping up this adventure. Please make sure that you have given me an e-mail for me to send your chronicle to (either in the discussion thread or a PM if you wish) and that you have (or will have soon) rolled your day job.
Oh and if we don't finish quickly we may have to finish in Pathfinder 2nd edition!

Day Job:
Intimidate: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15
Intimidate, 3-star reroll: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19
screw this!!
Yes.. I'm pretty pissed about the 2nd edition announcement. They're playing in Hasbro's playbook and no longer quite the 'underdog'. In a sense I'm proud of their success, but I wished they would have gone to the next level in a different way instead of invalidating my considerable collection of Pathfinder stuff. It's like a bad herpes that keeps coming every 10 years... around year 8 or 9 you think you're in the clear, but year 10 hits and it's those same old feelings of betrayal resurfacing... I know right? I promise: I swear to tell you how I really feel about this one of these days... ;)
I gave all my 3.0/3.5 stuff away so as not to dwell on it.
Then I once again became someone else's patsy and bought the 'poor underdog' line of Paizo. They fooled me twice... shame on me.

I just want SOME WAY, SOMEWHERE for all the cool stuff that showed up near the end of 3.5 to be published by a company that actually cares and actually Gets It. I went all through the '000s (which I pronounce "OOZE" - like it?!? Great name for that decade, don't you think?) ravenously collecting 3.0/3.5/3rd-party books, and getting just north of zilch to play ANY OF IT.
That's to say nothing of the many spectacular settings of TSR, which Wizards of Potato-Head are barely willing to touch.

I'm excited for the new version. I hope it gives players and GMs an even larger toolkit to tell their stories. I know there are parts of Pathfinder I've completely avoided due to how confusing the system was.
I'm sad to go back to one rulebook of source material, I really like making complex characters with lots of moving parts (like a martial artist, grappling tiger).
Theodric de LaMontagne

If you read the FAQ you'll note that you can keep playing 1st edition as long as you want (until you run out of all APs and all 9 seasons of PFS scenarios, of course).

Besides the library itself, there is another location in this scenario that was never searched. Somewhere where you might find the dead paladin's weapon. Figure it out and you will receive full gold to go along with full experience and prestige.
Theodric de LaMontagne
|
Huh... here in this room? Theodric assists! lol
Rok - Celestial Dire Tiger
|
Ya, I just have a personal preference to only participate in one intensive hobby at a time. So if 2.0 is any good, I'll likely end up switching over 100%.
Well, I'm at a lose for what we didn't explore. The secret tunnel, was that what we took to get here? I definitely didn't intend to leave where un-searched.
Theodric de LaMontagne
|
After checking the Sanctum, on our way back we will inspect all the sarcophagi where the paladin and dragon were emtombed, then the library, then we run out! (or zoom out thanks to Amenopheus' spell... :) )
Evad Alacar
|
Right did we ever search through the C. Hidden Entrance? If not go there and also in the Paladins burial tomb.
Rok - Celestial Dire Tiger
|
Did we search the trenches at the bridge trap?
Theodric de LaMontagne
|
Sounds like we searched everything - remember Theodric had Spider Climb when he crossed the bridge and although his Perception is a joke, if there was something at the bottom he would have investigated it.
GM Erich
|
I have assumed you have fully searched underground (labs and sanctum) before you exited. But what became of Fortune Moon?
Theodric de LaMontagne
|
Is that the paladin's weapon Theodric has or the silver pendant Sinuhotep pounced on?
GM Erich
|
It was what the anti-paladin version of him was using (it was a +2 ghost touch flail for a bit during the fight, btw). But the dead paladin spoke of another weapon (that he wielded in life...)
Rok - Celestial Dire Tiger
|
"Are there weapons we can use against Aryana Tahari within her complex?"
"I only know of my own weapon, "Fortune Moon", which I lost upon the battlefield to her."
Was there anything on the surface that could hold a weapon? I don't remember anything that resembles a treasure hoard. The surface had lots of undead, was it an old battlefield?
Theodric de LaMontagne
|
Sarcophagus: detect magic: check pits before exiting...
Rok - Celestial Dire Tiger
|
In the mindscape the paladin spoke with a villager, but it didn't show where he died.
Theodric de LaMontagne
|
When we spoke with dead with him:
"I only know of my own weapon, "Fortune Moon", which I lost upon the battlefield to her."
Where is this battlefield? where did he die?
Theodric de LaMontagne
|
Hmm... based on our arrival, the battlefield must have been OUTSIDE where the dead rose against us... Theodric and whoever has a decent Perception will search the battlefield for the weapon before we go. A detect magic spell would probably save us a lot of time.
Rok - Celestial Dire Tiger
|
...A holy warrior crashed into my laboratory, leading an insurrection against me and speaking of the justice of Osiris. His pain at watching the villagers die is only the beginning...
We already searched the lab. Did we thoroughly loot the first battlefield?
Theodric de LaMontagne
|
ok, I agree - half of us search the lab and the rest search above - Theodric takes 20 to assist the MP (main perceiver) with +2

Chronicles will be sent out tonight (the only one I have on slow progression is Rok). I still need an email address for Rogar (PM me or drop it here). Any faction related questions, too. I'll close the game in a day or so.
Thanks again for playing!

I'm definitely going to need to look up the rest of the scarab sage plot now.

Did we manage to "recover" a gem worth at least 1,500 gp?

Great job Erich! And party..that tiger carried the day :)
Thank you for the compliment Rogar. I made this character after my -1 died, and overshot on the mix/max scale. Now I save him for scenarios that have a character killing reputation.

GM Erich thanks so much for the epic adventure! Great job running it!
Fellow Pathfinders it's been a pleasure!
Just curious did we do better than expected?
GM Erich

Chronicles sent and game reported. Thanks again and happy adventuring to you all!
@Rogar Still need an email to send chronicle to..
@Evad You did achieve the max success (making the cure and freeing all the sages before destroying her), that's why her ghost got sucked back to Abaddon.
@Vladek All the sage jewels were probably of that value at least, but I don't think "not losing them" (which can't really be done in the scenario anyway) counts as "recovery", so no.
