Lucian is grateful for his steed being able to guide them towards the flooded town. As he gets closer, he asks his companions. "Can you see what is causing this flood? Is the lake overflowing? We need to save as many people as we can... even if that's going to be hard with our current condition. "

"Rain. Rain water is causing the flood. We need to find a potion place to raid it to get our sight back. We can't do any good flopping around here like blind fish."
"Swimming in these waters is impossible for us with our sight gone. Maybe we could borrow a boat from the docks? We could even try to save some people on our way to the church."

"This may take me a bit; I can swim, but I haven't tested myself against waters like these."
Taking a rope with her, Miana braves the waters to reach the boats at the docks.
Try as she might, she doesn't make any progress in the water and returns to shore.
"That was embarrassing...", she comments to herself. "Does anyone have flight magic left?
Rissi, finally feeling useful, hovers down from her position floating above the floodwaters.
"Yes, I am course am flying still. And I can provide a few minutes of flight for another."
Kufieno stares at Miana for a minute. "How about we just take a boat?"
"Maybe Rissi could fly Kufieno to one of the boats, then sail back to get us? Then we could all go the the temple of Erastil." suggests the Varisian.
The ratfolk wizardess nods blindly into empty space. "It sounds a sound *squeak* plan. Master Kufieno?" She will fly under Brihz's guidance until she can lay a hand upon Kufieno and give him the gift of magical flight.
Kufieno nods. "That sounds swell, Miss Rissi!" Kufieno lifts into the air and darts off toward the water.
With Rissi's help, Kufieno flies across the floodwaters and lands in a boat. It is outfitted with several pairs of oars and although it takes a few minutes in the rough water, he eventually makes it back to shore to pick the rest of the party up!
Making your way towards the church, you suddenly hear the screaming grow louder and you hurry the pace of your rowing! You burst through the doors and find a woman guarding several children from a large snake!
"What is happening?" asks Lucian, panicked by his powerlessness.
The Varisian boy finally decides to bestow his fervor towards Desna to his companions.
"Are those cries of joy or screams of fear? I never can tell between the two. Was that a spell that was cast? Suli-mon, what's going on?"
"A snake! Trying to eat people!"
Seal nods in agreement with Kufieno's brief description of the situation.
"Thunderpuss, lead us into battle. Rage with me."
Seal follows behind Thunderpuss as the big cat sloshes his way to the giant snake. Dwarf and feline turn more feral as they begin to froth at the mouth and pupils swallow the colors of their eyes. Sealman's rage has infected Thunderpuss.
Thunderpuss leaps at the snake with a roar with fangs bared to begin the primal fight.
Lucian blesses the party and Seal orders Thunderpuss to attack! The cat bites into the snake, which then retaliates!
Kufieno moves toward the snake, drawing his weapon along the way and casting a spell. Looking to flank with the big cat, Kufieno reaches out to touch the snake.
By Densa's blessing, Thunderpuss leaps back at the last moment before the serpent could ensnare him.
"Well done, my boy. Now press the attack!" Seal draws out his dorn and begins to swing wildly.
Lucian prays for his companions, asking Desna to tip the odds in their favor.

*chitter chitter chitter* the rat, cupped in the wizard's hand, squeaks.
*squeak* Rissi responds.
Rissi listens as Brihz tells her where to place her magic; then, she screams.

Kufieno zaps the snake and Thunderpuss claws into it. A shout from Rissi finishes the snake off!
"Oh thank you, thank you!" the woman says as she calms down the frightened children. "These waters and the foulness they bring with them!" she sighs. "Who are you? How can I ever repay you?"
"Can you direct us to a cleric? We currently require the magical services of one of some skill to deal with some afflictions of sight. Also, if any event of unusual nature preceded this weather, it would be good to be made aware."
"Who are you?"
Kufieno waves her off. "We're the Saviors of Sandpoint. Just doing our job, ma'am. Are there others in need of rescuing?"
"A cleric? Well why didn't you say so! We're in a temple after all! Where did I put those scrolls? Give me a moment!"
She runs to the back and starts rifling through the temple's extensive scroll library and pulls out a set of scrolls. She hurriedly casts them on all of you and follows it up with, "No charge of course, not after you saved us!"
She furrows her brow at Rissi's question about the weather. "Haven't you looked outside? Unusual weather, of course! It's been raining like the sea's been thrown into the air! That's not normal now, is it?"
There is a deep rumble that resonates through the building, throughout the town in fact. She pauses and her eyes go wide. "No, no, nothing about this is normal! I don't know what that was but I'm afraid we're going to find out all too soon!"
Lucian thanks the woman with humility. "I thank you, Madam, but we aren't worthy of your attention. We are just glad we could help! After all, it was not so long ago that I was a child like them, frightened..."
... and especially fascinated!
"... by the many dangers of our world. I hope they will be alright, and surely will be great heroes like us one day! Won't you kids?" he winks at them, hoping to make them forget their fear.
A look of concern comes over him as the woman reacts strongly at the new developement. "What could cause it, do you have any ideas? If we found the cause, we would be able to stop it."
"Was there not talk of a damn *chhhh* upriver? Madame, where does that lie in relation to Hook Mountain?" Rissi conjectures for a bit. "Perhaps the two are related?"
"The dam? Well, it's up on SKull's Crossing. I've no doubt something has gone wrong with the dam. What's bringing on this unnatural weather though, I can only. . . ."
Suddenly the children scream as you see what at first appears to be a huge black tree being swept downriver on a collision course with the church instead submerges beneath the water.
A few tense moments later, the floodwaters surge violently and with a thunderous roar an immense monster with a primeval head rises as high as the church steeple, sending everyone in the town into a panic! You don't even notice at first that the rains have suddenly stopped....
has a constant invisibility purge effect and has some very powerful spell-like abilities, including demand and greater command, among others
Kufieno's eyes widen as the creature appear. 'What in Desna's name is that!'
Conjuring a snowball, he hurls it at the monstrosity.
"That's not a giant..."
"What a monstrosity! Desna protect us!"
Almost as a reflex, he casts blessing of fervor on him and his companions.
As for Evanya, she cowers at the sight of that gigantic monster.
"No... no! Black Magga, a servant of Lamashtu. This is too great for us... this is madness! "
Rissi flies up into the air and shouts.
Black Magga, herald of the Mother of Beasts! Why are you here? What is it you want with this *chhhh* insignificant town?"
Rissi quickly runs through the possibilites in her head.
Why would this creature have appeared when the rains stopped? An illusion? Summoned by the master of the Sihedron runes?
Thunderstrike
Kufieno's snowball hits the giant building-sized monster but barely seems to hurt it. Lucian calls down his blessing as Rissi shouts at feebly at Black Magga. A deep rumbling laugh reverberates throughout the valley. It answers in a rough voice:
Black Magga then exhales a cloud of foul-smelling, poisonous breath which envelopes the entire building. As it does so, Rissi lets out a thunderclap but it barely seems noticeable over the boar of the gargantuan beast.
Rissi succumbs to the madness.
"Ah... they're here to clear out our *squeak* warren mother. Go away!."
She turns on Miana, screaming.
"Run away! Run away! Thunderpuss, grab Rissi and go"[/Monty Python]
Sealman then picks up a child under each arm, allowing another onto his back if need be. He then flees from the church with his new found speed.
Thunderpuss will try to pick up and carry Rissi by the wizard's hood and drag her out of the church.
The ratfolk begins to shriek in wild near-panic when the cat grabs her. She reverts to her native Tien.
Suddenly taken by maddness, Lucian starts to lacerate his own flesh.
Evanya heals Lucian in reaction to his master's strange behavior.
Moreover, she translates the creature's harsh words: "She says the ogres destroyed the dam and the hags brought down the rain - it has all been orchestrated by the Kreegs!"
Stricken dumb with fear, Kufieno claws at his eyes!
Rissi turns on the party in her confusion! Seal and Thunderpuss grab the ratfolk and start bolting while Lucian and Kufieno smack themselves around!

Miana seems to be the only one not going mad with panic as all of her allies start acting erratically.
Her ears ring as Rissi screeches at her.
"It's ok! You can control it Rissi!, she cries out, watching Kufieno and Lucian wail on themselves. Sealman seems to show the only sign of normal thought for the party... a sobering thought indeed.
"I'll take Kufieno! Hopefully Lucian's new friend can guide him out.", Miana moving to drag her fellow suli-jann out. 'Oh brother...', she thinks to herself.
Black Maga laughs deeply and says one quick command to all of you: "Don't move!"
"No"
Magic missiles are launched at the beast, but again the outsides strange magical shields prove nigh-insurmountable.
