Baz hits the robot as it moves away. He then moves back in and hits another critical component in the robot's wiring!

Lucija and Naghamadi rush in, Lucija's spear catching a wire but Naghamadi unable to grab it! It is stunned so no AoO I think.

Hailey keeps healing the party as Ignatious' holy flames tear through the robot's defenses.

Stunned by Bazresh's devastating hit, the robot floats motionless for a few more seconds while you quickly take it out! Stunned for 1 round and it only had about 20 hp left.

Out of combat!

The tripod that was before blurting out warnings go silent with the destruction of the robot. It seems whatever intelligence was causing the speech has been terminated along with the rocket-powered guard.

Soon the robot begins sparking and you see many of the wires running through its chest melting away. Pulling back a panel covering its chest, you see Toggrim’s Sky Key component. Without the robot’s systems to draw on the component’s energy and regulate its functions, the technological relic has begun sparking and melting away the wiring that kept it anchored. Even to the untrained eye, it is clear that this piece, an incomplete, semispherical lattice of thin metal, is different from the rest of the robot.

Furthermore, you find the recent corpse of a ratfolk unceremoniously left in the further chamber. the ratfolk still wears boots of speed, a vest of escape, and a belt with a wand of greater invisibility (5 charges).

Venture-Captain Smine welcomes the PCs back on their return trip, excitedly examining the piece of the Sky Key and congratulating them on a job well done. By recovering another piece of the Sky Key, the Society is one step closer to reassembling the lost Numerian relic and unlocking the secrets it holds.

And that's it! Thanks for playing! I hope everyone had fun! I'll get chronicles out soon.

As the robot falls, Baz stands breathing heavily, then walks over to Ignatious. Handing over the scimitar, he smiles slightly. "I have to get one of these, very nice!"

Thanks a bunch, EF!

"It was a gift from mother. One day I will discover all of it's abilities, but,. . . " suddenly he stops, overcome with some strange pain. He drops to a knee, and it looks like he is convulsing.

Within a few moments, his armor begins to push off, as if something where growing within him. There is a tearing sound, followed by a few cracks and painful pops, the sounds of flesh and bones being destroyed. After a minute of intense agony, suddenly the pain stops, and he stands, a pair of angelic wings gracing his back. "And now, it seems," in a staggered, fatigued voice, "a gift from father."

I'll also try to heal everyone up, as a soft green mist begins to pour in, for just a moment, then a gentle rain, filled with healing positive energies.

Maps survives the second blast, and again is quickly healed. Though the sonic rifle is depleted, the robot falls before he needs to resort to his second gun - the one loaded with an adamantine bullet.

***

Maps takes particular interest in the robot and its Sky Key heart, fascinated by the power it holds.

Did the key reanimate the robot guardian, or has someone else been here and tampered with it?

Before the group departs the crash site, he takes time to wander it, taking notes and looking for anything that might offer more insight. Later he pours over a copy of a Thread of Silver, hoping to better understand his experience.

The Sage sent me here. Why? Is this about my past or just another favor for the Society? This seems far removed from the interests of the Scarab Sages. Always more questions then answers it seems...

Thanks EF! Great game as always!
