Evading the magma elemental, Maps applies his healing wand to Bizzle again. "Get to the platform. I'll handle these things."

He then leaps across the lava, a little closer to the second elemental, making himself a target for both.

Bizzle will cast Fly and move to the panels!

Giradoux looks at the other pathfinders huddled around the controls and says, "You have a few seconds before I start turning this into a mess of wires and destruction!"

Will give one round before Giradoux starts playing ginsu master with the circuit boards.

Rowles adjusts closer to the salamander and tries again to play whack-a-mole with it.

Niko shuts down one of the portals! Kudor and Rowles then knock Jethzerai out of the air! He lands with a thud! on the ground and starts bleeding out! With the flying salamander out of the equation, you can easily mop up any magma elementals left over and any more that pop out while Niko works his magic at the controls. When the portals are once again cut off from the Plane of Fire, any lava still in the room drains slowly through grates below the large gate.

Putting together the clue of the wanted note you found earlier, you can surmise that the salamander had been banished from the City of Brass and found himself trapped in this place for some indeterminate amount of time. He was working on a way to open up a portal to his former home and, disturbingly, Niko discovers that the entire place was rigged to self-destruct had the portal been fully established. Clearly Jethzerai had some harsh memories of the City of Brass.

When you return from the Forge, Marw and the other mutant chokers guide you back to the lift and reluctantly you to leave. Venture-Captain Shevala Iorae awaits you on the surface, too eager to hear your report to wait in the Grand Lodge. She is shocked to hear about Jethzerai’s plot and relieved that you found no evidence of a growing robot army.

After hearing your report Shevala shakes her head in disbelief and congratulates you. “You have all outshone yourselves today. I shudder to think what would have happened if you hadn’t been there to stop the Forge from self-destructing. These discoveries are fascinating. We suspected that Karamoss had attempted to destroy the tower when the siege turned against him, but I never realized he was insane enough to try to unleash a volcano on another plane against Absalom! Your actions today saved not just an incredible trove of scientific and historical data, but possibly all of Absalom as well.”
