Ving scowls at the creature before him, glances to his right and says, "Time to heat things up.". He points at Yellow then Green. Each time a ray of heat and flame springs forth from his finger ands streaks forward....
Blazing Bolt vs. Yellow (Defense: AC): 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 11 + 1 = 17
Possible Fire damage vs. Yellow: 4d6 + 1 ⇒ (3, 5, 5, 6) + 1 = 20
Blazing Bolt vs. Green (Defense: AC): 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 11 + 1 = 17
Possible Fire damage vs. Green: 4d6 + 1 ⇒ (1, 4, 4, 4) + 1 = 14
...he then Shields himself.
Blazing Bolt spell (2 actions); Shield cantrip (1 action). AC: 22
Attack; Concentrate; Fire; Manipulate
Range: 60 feet; Targets: 1 or more creatures Defense: AC
You fire a ray of heat and flame. Make a spell attack roll against a single creature. On a hit, the target takes 2d6 fire damage, and on a critical hit, the target takes double damage.
For each additional action you use when Casting the Spell, you can fire an additional ray at a different target, to a maximum of three rays targeting three different targets for 3 actions.
These attacks each increase your multiple attack penalty, but you don't increase your multiple attack penalty until after you make all the spell attack rolls for blazing bolt. If you spend 2 or more actions Casting the Spell, the damage increases to 4d6 fire damage on a hit, and it still deals double damage on a critical hit.
Heightened (+1) The damage to each target increases by 1d6 for the 1-action version, or by 2d6 for the 2- and 3-action versions.
Duration: until the start of your next turn
You raise a magical shield of force. This counts as using the Raise a Shield action, giving you a +1 circumstance bonus to AC until the start of your next turn, but it doesn't require a hand to use.
While the spell is in effect, you can use the Shield Block reaction with your magic shield. The shield has Hardness 5. You can use the spell's reaction to reduce damage from any spell or magical effect, even if it doesn't deal physical damage. After you use Shield Block, the spell ends and you can't cast it again for 10 minutes.
Heightened (+2) The shield's Hardness increases by 5.
NOTE: I thought I read autohit/miss was no longer a thing when it came to attack rolls. Perhaps I am mistaken.
| GM Valen |
Not rolling a natural 1 it isn't.
Thanks. Was looking at the total and not the die result.
Technically, it is not an "autohit/miss" thing. It is a matter of degree.

GM posted the spell on the last page. Will re-post under spoiler for you.
Plants and fungi burst out or quickly grow, entangling creatures. All surfaces in the area are difficult terrain. Each round that a creature starts its turn in the area, it must attempt a Reflex save. On a failure, it takes a –10-foot circumstance penalty to its Speeds until it leaves the area, and on a critical failure, it's also immobilized for 1 round. Creatures can attempt to Escape to remove these effects.

So is that difficult terrain shown on the map or am I in fact entangled? The character summary shows me as entangled.
It is in fact difficult terrain in the green-dotted areas. Rannarix was entangled in Round 1 when he started his turn in the area. He was no longer entangled at the beginning of Round 2 as he was no longer in the area (The Initiative tracker was wrong; my error). It appears from the map that Rannarix has since moved (Stride x2) during Round 2 and entered the green-dotted area (difficult terrain) and, thus, will have to make a Reflex save at the beginning of his turn in Round 3 against being entangled.
