Inspire = Competence bonus. Bless = Morale bonus. It does, indeed, stack.

Holy moley I stand corrected. Always thought all bonus from bardic courage were morale, but only the bonus vs fear is. Good to know!

So did I; it'd been a while since I saw them used together.

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

That's a common occurrence at our Lodge so I was familiar with the stacking of those two.

Baern steps in and blesses his allies.

Kilian steps up and takes out the derro!

The humans, being but slaves of their derro master, throw down their weapons and quickly surrender to the party!

Out of combat!

You discover that the two men are actually citizens of Cassomir forced to work for the derro after they were captured and sold into slavery to the derros.

In the next room with straw pallets are stacks and stacks of cages full of normal rats. On a small table next to those cages is a small, shiny black rat statue—the jet rat.

There is also a ledger written in Undercommon.

Undercommon:
It gives evidence that the derro's slave sales over the last couple of months have slowly increased, with a huge surge in the last couple of weeks. You find a note about a human woman who escaped not long ago and the mite slave who let it happen was later beaten to death.

Near the barrels is a large chest in which the derro keep their slave sale earnings. It contains 3500 gp.

By defeating the derros here and taking the jet rat, you have slowed the derros’ plans for the future but not stopped them entirely. Kidnappings slow in the city, but continue to expand in the countryside around Cassomir. Rumors begin to circulate throughout the city that the derro menace has been stopped, but some whisper darker tidings, such as the recent spotting of a derro inside the walls of Swift Prison, a rumor the Taldan authorities heatedly deny.

That about does it for Part II! I'll get chronicle sheets out later and we'll start up Part III soon!

I admit this one didn't really advance the story or accomplish much. Hopefully Part III will be better!

It's a good thing I chose to inspire courage rather then attack. Might have killed a poor slave!

"You are free, my countrymen!" Maximo declares upon learning the situation for which the men were pressed into service. "Return to your homes, and live honorable lives." He gives them a look that silently says, or else!

To his companions, he gives a broad smile. "We have looked into the face of evil and given it a hearty slap. Victory and glory is ours! Let us report our success to the authorities and retire for drink and fine conversation!"

However, by the time the group climbs out of the sewers whatever elixir Maximo used below has worn off and the addled old man has returned. "Biggest rat I've ever seen..." He mutters.

Later, at the Flaxseed Lodge, Maximo recounts the tale of their epic adventure. Evil derro in a hidden city beneath the streets, worshiping the God of End Times. Plans to kidnap, then corrupt or enslave the honorable and noble citizens of Cassomir. Plots to summon an army of giant fiendish Rats of Unusual Size!
