"This is a mighty oni with regeneration. Burn it, my fellows!" Terflynn declares, smirking a bit at the pathetic attempt on his mind. He then summons a dark fog over the pit that billows forth from the air and seems to float unnaturally.
Twilight Haze, no save or SR, just an illusory fog cloud plus darkness essentially. Most importantly, that flying Oni won't be able to target us with anything unless it comes through the cloud.

Miso grabs one of the hobgoblins and throws her into the pit. Seconds later you can hear screaming and snarling as something below tears her to pieces. Meanwhile Zachary's first shot takes out the closest hobgoblin and his others leave the flying oni wounded! Terflynn then covers the area and forces the oni to move in closer, which it does. After flying closer, it tries to command Terflynn to leap in the pit.

Dc 15 Will save against the command.

Well you didn't say anything in-character but I'll assume you head on:

The party makes its way across the pit, avoiding whatever foul beast roots about below, and up a short flight of stairs leading to a corridor decorated with scenes of anger, illustrating humanoid figures suffering in scenes of shockingly brutal violence.

A few more rooms of abandoned barracks lie up two more sets of stairs until finally you reach a room where several trophies and art objects are proudly displayed. A simple military cot rests against the north wall. The south wall opens into a broad natural cavern, through which can be heard the sound of roaring water.

Standing and staring out over the waters is a large oni ogre mage. His armor is gleaming in military precision and his hand rests near a large katana. "I thought I heard trouble below. Ichirou is a fool but I, Fujai, am Munasukaru's Chosen and you shall not get past me."

Among the items displayed in the room are a trio of very fine bearskins worth 100 gp each, a bronze dagger set with jets worth 130 gp, a ceremonial elephant dagger in a silver and lapis lazuli scabbard worth 250 gp,and several bleached aranea skulls.

"Well gentlemen, we've certainly killed some oni. But how do we explain their escape in the first place?" Terflynn ponders out loud, one arm across his chest and the other propping up his chin.

Looking around, he asks. "Now what?"

It is strange that the onis have been able to leave this place, especially when you were told that the pagoda was specifically constructed to keep them in. There was also, however, no mention of hobgoblins taking residence in this place and they seem to have established themselves quite well here. Perhaps the answer lies below....

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

A stone walkway plunges into the heart of a large cavern that is itself a roaring shaft of water, so that the steep and narrow stone pathway descends like a corkscrew along the edges of the shaft, with a waterfall roaring through the center.

The waterfall then drops into an underground lake, its surface broken
by jagged boulders that form makeshift steppingstones from the pathway to an arched doorway. Hundreds of screaming, leering faces cover the walls of this cavern.

To be honest I'm not really sure where exactly you come out on the next map but presumably somewhere on the edge of the lake, with the idea being that you have to jump across the rocks to one of a few places you might want to explore.

Do you mean carvings of faces, or actual screaming faces?
Terflynn waits for Jennix or Miso to attempt scouting before flying towards the arched doorway.

Cover the walls, as in carvings and cave-paitings, not Hannibal-style faces all over the place.

Past the stepping-stones a low stone shelf forms a natural harbor. Ten-foot-high natural stone ledges rise in tiers and a set of stone steps climb from the middle ledge to the topmost ledge. However, as you climb to the top of the stairs the natural stone walls become worked stone, still decorated with carvings of figures being torn apart by beasts, and ahead another ogre mage mounted atop a giant gorgon, a bull-like creature seemingly made of interlocking metallic plates, guards a bridge across the running water below. "Intruders!" the ogre mage calls out. "You have made a mistake by entering my ward here, for I am Ryosanjin and I am Munasukaru's Chosen. Prepare to fight!"

Miso never removes his eyes from their foe, but says aloud, I believe we should invite this one to come to us, Jennix, just as the water flows downhill to meet the sea. Without pointing, he continues. You to your right, I to my left. Terflynn, anything in your bag of tricks that might hold this Ryosanjin and his steed in place would be welcome.

Move and ready to strike should the ogre-mage enter Miso's area of reach.

Oops, cos the last attack *should've* been the ki point attack, not the low BAB attack — I usually do haste attacks the same way so I don't forget them. But I didn't in this case, cos I was rushing between work projects. Serves me right for posting distracted.
