Maybe just roll a few grapple checks at a time to make things go faster?

It seems the first day's challenges were not for you. Fortunately the Prince has four more days of feasts planned!

On the second night, you are invited as guests of honor to the Feast of the Ancients. Steamed Hongali stone frogs, goose stomach, goat's feet tendons in wheat noodles, fish lips with celery, solidified duck blood, and drunken shrimp (a delicacy in which on dips live shrimp in alcohol before pinching off their heads and eating their flesh). As entertainment, an ancient Hongali folk tale called "Why the Marmot Doesn't Have Thumbs" is performed with pi ying xi (shadow puppet) accompanied by throat singing and music on the morin khuur, or horsehead fiddle, a traditional Hongali stringed instrument. Prince Batsaikhar asks to see something similar from the young lands of beautiful women, stealing a glance down at Ameiko.

To use the pi ying xi, you can make a DC 35 Perform (act) or Sleight or Hand. Or you can make a DC 25 Perform (act) or Perform (oratory) or a DC 30 Perform (sing) or (stringed instrument) check to impress them with something else. You can aid each other on these checks but you only get one attempt total.

I have a feeling this won't be your night either....

Jennix shakes his head, wishing he could have contributed to the first day's games. "These contests definitely see to have the odds stacked against us." He remarks. Man, those are high DCs

Feeling this is his area of expertise, Jennix tries his hand at shadow puppets.

SoH: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 11 + 1 = 14

Balling his fist, he holds up his index and middle finger. "Shadow rabbit....?"

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

The attendants are not terribly impressed with Jennix's performance, but the Prince still enjoys your company nonetheless.

On the third day, The Feast of Fire is held, at which thousand-year-old eggs are served (duck eggs coated with lim, ashes, and mud and soaked in horse urine for 100 days). There is also cow's lung soaked in chili sauce, pig face (made by pouring hot tar on a pig's head to remove the hair but leave the skin intact), snake venom soup, deep fried bee larvae, and duck's feet marinated in blood.

The entertainment that night is "The Taming of the Kirin," a dazzlingly dangerous display of fire breathing and swordplay while dancing on hot coals.

Prince Batsaikhar asks you if you can amuse him with similar feats from the bountiful lands of enlightenment to the west.

DC 30 Perform (dance), DC 30 Acrobatics, and DC 25 Intimidate check required to emulate the Taming of the Kirin. Only one person can lead each of the three checks but everyone else can aid.

Lol!

The Prince has yet to be impressed by your skills, but perhaps he only assumed too much after hearing that your braved the Crown of the World in the off-season.

On the fourth night, the Feast of the Honored Visitors is held. For this feast, the guests must advise the royal chefs what to cook, and must provide the entertainment for the feast. The prince’s advisor Chua wakes you at dawn and asks for instructions for the feast—the royal household is ready to act under their direction.

You have to feed the prince’s 300 guests, but all dishes must be made from what is locally available—camel, horse, mutton, and pork being the most obvious options.

The prince’s chefs are totally unfamiliar with Avistani cuisine. You can supervise the cooks and create a pleasing meal with a DC 25 Profession (butcher), Profession (cook), or similar skill check, or by using magic.

You must also entertain the guests at the feast. You must make two skill checks, one at DC 30 and one at DC 35, using Perform or other skills (such as Acrobatics, Escape Artist, or the like) to provide suitable entertainment. Only one can attempt each check, but others can use aid another to assist.

Miso has prestidigitation for the meal. At 10 castings per minute for a pound of nonliving material that lasts an hour, that should help the flavorings of the meal. I have no idea how many pounds would be needed to feed 300 people, but it should be enough for at least a start.

Hmm, brainstorming here: could Zach use Survival to help out, maybe? The choicest cuts of camel or horse, perhaps?

Terflynn communes with his toad, Maxwell, and returns to the others some time later. "Gentleman, I cannot prepare a meal or play music, but with enough wine and mind-altering magic, I don't suspect it will overly matter."
That yields roughly 75 gallons of wine that lasts for 10 hours. That's 2 pints per guest. I can cast that 4 times, for up to a gallon per guest.

2 paper candles, 11 roman Desnan candles, and 3 skyrocket fireworks

Everyone agrees that the food and drink of this night has been the most spectacular of any feast in history. Everyone is so drunk by the end of the meal that no one seems to notice Jennix's sloppy performance as the archaeoninja flops about the floor. Despite this, the Prince still awards you with a beautiful +1 scimitar in a ceremonial scabbard decorated with opals worth 1000 gp and a finely carved and decorated masterwork morin khuur worth 500 gp.

----

The next night the Prince's final feast, the Feast of the Dragon, is an evening of celebration that takes place across the city. Prince Batsaikhar does not leave the palace, but he encourages and expects you to do so. He has issued instructions for his merchants to open up their warehouses and show the finest wares of Tian Xia at a special market held on the shores of the steaming lake in the middle of the city.

In addition to the normal street food found in Ordu-Aganhei, horse-hoof gruel, "household deer" (fried rats), smells like fish pork (pork cooked with wood ear mushrooms and green hot peppers), skewered roasted sparrows, snakehead soup, and live scorpions doused in portent liquor are all available during the Feast of the Dragon.

The prince has instructed his subjects to be happy for the evening, and to arrange a dragon parade in honor of the visitors. Hundreds of brightly colored dragon costumes are paraded through the streets, accompanied by the staccato explosions of paper candles. The festivities conclude at midnight with an incredible fireworks display over the palace walls, with hundreds of Desnan candles, skyrockets, and starfountains turning night into day.

Just to show me up, I assume.

Terflynn spends his evening examining wares and turning coins over in his pocket, carefully considering the value of the goods available in the market. Though he lacked the finesse to barter more strongly, his keen eye could spot a bargain a mile away. But these were not likely to be amateur traders, selling magic artifacts as mundane tools or superstitious icons. Even so, he maintained a careful watch for items that jumped out as especially useful or valuable that might not be fully appreciated by the local merchants.

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

Terflynn inspects the wares of the many close-standing market stalls in the Lake Market as the festivities rage around him. A large golden dragon costume held up by six partygoers works its way through the crowd. Having seen several of these already tonight, you turn your attention back to the magical offerings of the traders only to hear the cheers behind you turn to shouts and screams. Turning, you see that the six men have thrown down the dragon to reveal their black-clad suits which cover their faces and the long, fearsomely sharp katanas in their hands. The two drummers behind them have also thrown down their instruments to reveal similar weaponry and ill intent....

Terflynn flies behind the relative safety of a merchant stand before he pops back into sight, casting a spell that makes several of the ninjas fabulous.
Glitterdust, DC 18 Will or blinded (DC 19 if I can count my headband upgrade I haven't had a chance to add to my sheet yet)

Going to wait to see the effects of that glitterdust blind. Depending on who it blinds it may save me.

Three of the ninjas, blind to what just happened, desperately hack at the cloud that is Zachary but to no effect. The others rush off to surround Miso:

So my game plan is going to be to make it to a roof nearby and reform to counterattack from out of their reach. Are there any suitable locations nearby? If so I will be using full movement towards that location.

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

Yes, there are plenty of stalls and some actual buildings to the north. I've moved you towards the buildings.

The lone ninja not caught in the tentacles chases after Zachary!

Zack continues floating up and away towards the rooftops.

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

Terflynn's web further hinders the ninjas from moving. Just as the ninja chasing after Zachary's cloud is about to leap up the side of the building, something unexpected happens: a woman runs out of the crowd and draws a blade, attacking the ninja from behind and taking him down, her kukri working with blinding speed. As she closes in on the web to help you finish off the others, several city guards close in on the situation but before they can reach the ninjas, you note that all of them have drawn their katanas to their own necks. A tense moment passes until the woman steps closer and all of them simultaneously press the blade to their throats and commit seppuku, ritual suicide.

The woman sighs and frowns at the lifeless body of Jennix as she replaces her kukri.

Male

"What was that?" Terflynn asks aloud, a bit put off by mass suicides in such close proximity.

Male human (Kellid) Mnk4/Sor1/DrD6 | hp 65/115 | Init +6 | AC 27/22, T 18, FF 24/20 | CMB +15 (+17 grapple), CMD 32 (34 v. grapple) | F +11 R +9 W +11 (+2 vs exhaustion/fatigue) | Prcptn +17, blindsense SM +11 |

Miso is aware of seppuku but has never witnessed it before. What shame did these guards endure? he asks the woman, Jennix slung over his back.
