Use Magic Device: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
Despite his genuine appreciation for Poulain's matter-of-fact, slam-dunk repair of the engine, Angelo can't resist taking the opportunity to tinker with the magical bits of the engine, and 'just check things over'.

"Out of curiosity, how 'huge' is a 'huge and colorful water snake'? I'm just trying to plan dinner. Mamba stew was tasty, but the snakes each was so small. Perhaps on this stretch of the river we find enough meat for flank steaks, eh?"
@Edwin hit post # 1000! woot!

Corax RQ |

Corax was planning to help out with the engine when Poulain stepped in. She had to admire his work. Catching him alone afterwards, she stands tall and gives a short bow.
"You know your way around a boat, that's for sure. Me, I'm handy and can help out with most jobs - but you were born to work the water. My sincere compliments."

Krokod Firetongue |

Krokod is in a much better mood now that all are healed and recovered, "I understand we all have good reason to be cautious of serpents, but please, remember to spare Shaymii," He gestures to the bright red fire snake draped about his neck

Day 7
GM Rolls Morning 1d100 ⇒ 15
In the morning as usual Hurg get the boat's engine started and you sit together eating breakfast.
Selim remarks "Isa gonna be hot'un today."
By ten 10 am Selim asks 1d4 ⇒ 3(1=Angelo, 2=Corax, 3= Krokod, 4= Poulain) Krokod to fetch him some water from the supply compartment at the bow of the vessel. Poulain is standing at the absolute bow of the boat looking for trouble and Corax is near the supplies watching the stern and Angelo the port.
The Greater Vanji passes through some triple canopy jungle overhead where the trees almost completely block out the sun.

Surprise
Krokod, Anaconda

Krokod Firetongue |

Sorry, a bit lost here. Did an Anaconda just get surprise on Krokod, or did Krokod surprise the anaconda? :) I've got a summer cold, and between it and the meds, my brain is fuzzy.

Angelo Carvesan |

Angelo's snap decision to frighten the snake is changed dramatically by the snap of krokod's neck. Angelo leaps forward desperately, "Dio mio, not again," as he summons healing energies to knit krokod's twisted frame. He prays silently and fervently for Pharasma to return Krokod from the brink of the vale of tears.
CLW: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
yep, I realize this may/will draw a AoO. Angelo's not up for much finesse at this point.

The afternoon passes
GM Rolls 1d100 ⇒ 57
The rest of the day goes by without incident and Selim stops the boat for the evening. You heal yourselves to the best of your ability by the morning.
Day 8
Morning GM Rolls 1d100 ⇒ 28,
1d100 ⇒ 12
You start early in the morning and you are enjoying sights and sounds you have become accustomed to. After about an hour the boat shakes as if you are in an earthquake.
Profession Sailor DC 15

Capitain Esteban Selim aka GMED |

After everyone on the boat comes out and helps out you are able to pull the boat across the shallow spot and it takes a about two hours to cross it.
Daylight is waning on the Vanji, and you should
reach Whitebridge Station on the morrow. The
shout of the forward lookout brings your attention
to the front of the boat. Coming toward
you out of the gloom, a large white form
floats upon the water down the center of the
river. Captain Esteban slows the sternwheeler
to await the strange apparition. As it draws
closer it is identifiable as a flat-bottomed boat,
apparently occupied.
Selim screams"Get that punt over here... That looks like it is from Whitebridge....
The crew throws grappling hooks and the boat is secured. Once
drawn alongside the River Queen you can see a medium sized Mwangi man in the punt barely hanging on to life.

Angelo Carvesan |

Angelo steps forward into the punt, and immediately casts 'stabilize'. He then sets to more detailed diagnosis, to determine how to properly treat this floating mystery.
heal: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Determining that the Mwangi native is not diseased or poisoned, (assuming this is the case) Angelo licks some of the blood from his hands, before rinsing his hands in the river.

Angelo Carvesan |

After basic stabilization and diagnosis, Angelo sets about actively healing the person on the boat. He removes arrows from places they ought not be, bandages over wounds, then applies some of the grace of Our Lady Pharasma to speed the knitting of flesh and skin. Anyone watching closely will see Angelo taking small tastes of the man's blood.
cure moderate wounds: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (3, 6) + 4 = 13
"One fewer shuffled off. This is at least a more rewarding work than another funeral would be."
When the injured man is stable, Angelo will help move him onto the main deck, and ask someone to procure a thin soup or stew, and something dry and warm to lie on.
Once settled on deck, Angelo rouses the man sufficiently to answer some questions. "Rest easy - you are safe here. Can you tell us your name?"

Umodo |

I sit up and do my best to stand. I wobble a bit but make it to may feet. "Thenk you sur. Um I...wat...Gaki!" Panic stricken I look over the water's edge and shout. "Gaki! Where a you!"
I look around for a bit clearly worried. Then A squawking snarling noise can be heard as out of the brush off the shore a small Veloceraptor appears. It is making various squawks and barks.
I begin to respond in kind to the creatures noises. Soon it hops into the water and swims for the boat. I reach down to pull it aboard. "There there Gaki. I would never leave you."
Looking to the others I begin my explination. "This Gaki, my friend through much trouble an danger an been wit me all me life." I pet the raptor. "Say hi Gaki." The raptor squawks at you a couple of times.
I then look at the others with a smile. "There, it is Gaki. Now, I wonderin, where we going?" I await a response.

Capitain Esteban Selim aka GMED |

Selim scratches his head at hearing about Gaki at first thinking it some sort of dialect that he doesn't quite know. But then the squawks come which startle him to a certain degree.
He then responds "Upriver, tommorrow we hit Whitebridge Station and then we' continue on to Nightfall station. What or who did that to you, son?
Umodo

Umodo |

I think for a moment. "I was at a place, big camp of some kind. It attacked by pointy eared folk, elves I think. They had gorillas wit them but I not sure what happened next. I here now. The winds and waters whisper to me. It seems you are those I seek to follow."
I kneel before you. "I Umodo, I an good friend Gaki here to serve you saviors of my life. If you have me. I am skilled in divine arts of wild an nature, blessed wit gifts of Saurian gods an their children you call Dynosars."
I stand and look to the captain and then at the rest of you. "Please, allow me to company you on you journey."
