GMEDWIN |

Angelo casts Detect Magic, he can tell that it is a mix of organic and magic.
Trying to figure out how the engine works, Angelo almost gets zapped a couple of times and eventually he gives up not wanting to get a new haircut or worse from the power source.
The old dwarf chuckles at him.
Pushing it forward
Due to delays in the arrival of provisioning
orders and getting them loaded aboard, the
River Queen is several hours behind schedule
as she chugs away from the docks of
Bloodcove. The sun is near setting as Captain
Esteban guides her across the great estuary
that marks the mouth of the Vanji, where the
red-tinted water of the river mixes with the
sea. The vast expanse of the Mwangi interior
rolls into the distance in the final fire-tinged
light of day, overcast by the dark clouds of a
thunderstorm that approaches from the east.
The massive mate, Faruq, makes his way
about the boat lighting hurricane lamps, and
the captain shouts down from the pilothouse
to secure the loads and make ready for rough
weather. The plan is to reach a sheltered bend
in the river by nightfall and make anchor
there for the night, but it looks like with the
approaching storm, darkness is going to come
much sooner than expected.
Tell me where on the boat you want to weather the storm, inside or outside.

Jean-Phillipe Poulain |

Poulain looks for a place he can wait out the storm with moderate cover but a decent view. All the better if he's alone.

Angelo Carvesan |

Angelo is torn between the comfort of remaining below deck, the pathos of riding out a dismal storm above decks, and the impulse to be nearby things that might be breaking to help fix them. He finally succumbs to the hubris that he might be of some assistance on deck. He does take care to find himself a corner near a portion of roof (also better to remain out from underfoot), and a coil of rope (to tie off a lifeline).

GMEDWIN |

Poulain decides to position himself aft enjoying the rain smacking him in the face, Corvus is located near the wheel and Angelo is located outside, having tied himself off near the pilot's house.

Yoshiyaru |

Well, it's not quite my turn, but I don't think it'll impact things if I give my actions now.
Yoshi, hearing the commotion, swore under his breath.
The magus then cast a spell to help deflect attacks, and headed above deck, drawing his falcata as he did so.
Casting shield, then drawing his weapon as part of his move action.

GMEDWIN |

Corvus hits the stony creature that Poulain hit with an upward slice with her blade.

Yoshiyaru |

I already made a singe Move Action to head toward the deck.
How many Move Actions to actually get on deck?
EDIT: Oh, and if I do make it on deck, what does he see? Feel free to roll his Perception.

Yoshiyaru |

Thanks for the clarification, boss!
Yoshi stepped out into the rain, and seeing Angelo in dire straits cautiously moved to his side.
He cast a spell, while staying on guard from the monstrous threats.
Casting infernal healing defensively, Concentration (DC 17): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
The magus then touched the unconscious man, granting him an infernal ability to heal.
Angelo now has Fast Healing 1 for 10 rounds, so he'll regain 1 hp/round for 1 minute.
Round 1 of 10 for Fast Healing: Angelo heals 1 hp and is Stable.

GMEDWIN |

@Corvus, Am I missing something from your AC, flat footed when flanked and gets - the dex bonus,no? Or have you forgotten to add the cloak given to you from Gerzogitsa? If so you would still be +, I can only go by your character sheet. My count is 0 HP,
Faruq charges into a flanking position with Corvus from his Falchion1d20 + 7 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 7 + 2 + 2 = 21 hitting for 2d4 + 13 ⇒ (1, 2) + 13 = 16

Someday, in some land where justice prevails and all things are righteous, Angelo will remember to thank Yosh for the life-saving, well-timed healing. Unfortuantely, this is not that time or place... and Angelo's feeling the pull of the dark side.

Jean-Phillipe Poulain |

attack: 1d20 + 9 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 9 - 4 = 9damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7Wet fingers, wet arrows, wet bowstring, and heavy winds combine to continue to make a fool of Poulain.

Yoshiyaru |

Yoshi summoned his arcane energy to enhance his falcata.
He then carefully cast a spell and then attacked the same creature as the one Corvus was fighting.
Swift action to use 1 point from Arcane Pool to enhance falcata to +2.
Spell Combat and Spellstrike. Casting shocking grasp defensively: Concentration DC 17: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

Damage: Falcata 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Angelo Carvesan |

Angelo recovers somewhat. He looms up behind Faruq and menaces the creature attacking him. Angelo's light hearted banter is gone. With flickering light, and rain distorting hair and features, his appearance is transformed into a figure from nightmares and legends. As Angelo gathers a shred of dark divinity and projects it at the attacker, some portion of the terrible vision clings to him, like tattered funeral raiments.
Round 4
Status: HP 1/23 | AC 16 | T 12 | FF 14 | CMD 12 | F +1 | R +5 | W +3 | Init +2 | Per +0 | (infernal healing, rd 3/10)

standard: cast 'cause fear' (DC15) at SC1 (the one attacking Faruq)
NOTE: I might have cast at the one with Corvus, if Corvus wasn't likely to be carried off if it fled, and if Yosh weren't successfully beating the stuffing out of it.
@Yosh - does the Falcata crit on an 18 (your last roll)?

Yoshiyaru |

Sorry, I thought everything was close together. We're on a river boat, right?
If the one facing Corvus is too far away, then he'd just attack the nearest foe.
Barring that, he would move to help Corvus, in which case ignore the second attack completely, and increase the attack roll with the first attack by 2 (i.e.: he hit AC 23 instead).

GMEDWIN |

Corvus is unsuccessful in breaking her grapple.
Angelo seethes
Round 4
SC2 continue grapple on Corvus1d20 + 7 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 7 + 5 = 22, success, and goes overboard with Corvus.

Yoshiyaru |

"Oni's breath!" Yoshi cursed as he saw the creature pull Corvus overboard.
He doubled his efforts to slay the beast in front of him.
He recalled the shocking grasp spell in order to recast it.
Swift action to use 1 point from Arcane Pool to recall spell.

GMEDWIN |

Poulain's arrow misses its mark.
Yoshi's flurry of attacks is somehow able to hurt the beast.
Faruq attacks once more 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8, overstepping with his blow and dropping his sword in the process.
Corvus grappled in the water. If successful in getting out of the grapple DC20 swim check.

Jean-Phillipe Poulain |

Poulain snarls as he puts his bow away. He'll run to the edge of the boat where the creatures were and draw his staff.

Yoshiyaru |

Yoshi inhaled deeply, then dove into the water, firmly grasping his weapon.
Swim: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
He then oriented himself to locate Corvus and moved to help her.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Swim: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

GMEDWIN |

Yoshi jumps into the water and the current takes him further downstream than Corvus. Trying to swim towards her is unsuccessful and he is brought further away by the current.
Yoshi is able to see the combined weight of gargoyle and Corvus taking them further down into the murk.
One swim check per round
Faruq picks up his weapon and stand near the edge with a rope to help.
