Mem'basi |

not sure if it's my turn but I don't want to hold things up so here we go
Mem'basi cursed as his spear went by the snake. Seeing that the leopard was still not badly hurt, he yelled, "C'mon Zimba. Let's finish this!"

Yoshiyaru |

Yoshiyaru followed suit, continuing his attack on the serpent.
Attack w/ Falcata (2 handed grip) and flanking 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
When his strike was foiled, Yoshi exclaimed, "Oni's breath!"

Yoshiyaru |

With the threat over, Yoshiyaru moved to check on Poulain.
Seeing that he was severely injured, he cast a spell. The man's wounds started to slowly heal.
Yoshi cast infernal healing on Poulain.
He'll have Fast Healing 1 for 10 rounds (heal 10 hp in a minute), but will detect as evil for the duration.

Mem'basi |

Mem'basi took stock of the situation, glad that Poulain seemed better. He walked over to the ranger and chanted softly until his hands were shaking with energy. "Here. A gift from mother nature."
cure light wounds: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
"I think we are pretty hurt from the cobras. Should we continue on or do you think we should lick our wounds?

Jean-Phillipe Poulain |

Poulain nods. "Thank you, old friend. And thank you, Yoshiyaru. As for now, I would recommend moving a bit ...I'd rather rest somewhere more defensible."

Angelo Carvesan |

"Agreed, not here. But holing up for some little while would not be taken amiss."
casting on self... cure light wounds: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10, (0/6 1st level spells remaining)

Mem'basi |

Mem'basi shook his head, communication issues again. "Yes, I meant whether we go on to our original destination or whether we lick our wounds some other place. We aren't staying with the dead animals."
His anger came and went swiftly. "What about the serpent lair? Worth looking for it? They were certainly big enough to have swallowed a man whole. Anybody wonder whether they could have pooped some loot along with bones?"

Corvus Albus RQ |

Corvus walks over to Poulain, eyeing his injuries. "I trust you are feeling better.". Then, adopting a thick accent she adds, "Aye am zurprised you ave been urt. Zey were only verms."
With this she moves away and stand with Yoshiyaru..

Angelo Carvesan |

"It sounds likely to me that their lair wouldn't be a popular place with local wildlife. Can someone track them back, then maybe we rest up there for a few hours, maybe overnight? And maybe while someone looks for tracks, I'll take some skins, and maybe something for the stewpot tonight, eh?"
Survival (skinning): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
mmm... and anything else that might be useful - but I still call 'boots!'
Spellcraft(useful snake bits): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
don't suppose anyone wants to aid another to help move up the skinning a bit?

Jean-Phillipe Poulain |

Poulain assists with skinning and harvesting the creatures. Taking 20, that's 31.
"Their lair is a good idea." Another take-twenty for 35 to track in the jungle.

Mem'basi |

"There's no need for us to kill these. I can make anyone totally undetectable to the snakes or any animal, up to four people actually. We can then search the nest and gather any supplies the vipers won't need.
The druid looked to see if his plan was accepted.
"We will have to look for another site to rest but Poulain knows this area like the back of his hand so it shouldn't be a problem. You all didn't want to spend the night in a viper's den, did you?"

Angelo Carvesan |

"I was becoming somewhat attached to the idea of overnighting in the lair of expired vipers, actually. But this collection of underbrush wasn't quite the sheltering rock tumble I was hoping for - and far more occupied."

Yoshiyaru |

"Mem'basi-san, if you wish to explore the serpents' lair, I will wait out here," said Yoshiyaru.
Looking at Angelo the half-elf added, "I would prefer to find another site for us to rest at as well."

Jean-Phillipe Poulain |

Poulain spits. "Yes, let us please leave this poisoned serpents alone after coming near their home. We kill them or they hunt us. Nature's cruel."

Angelo Carvesan |

"Let's see if we can whistle the young ones to where we can see them."
Angelo will cast ghost sound, and create the sound of several small rodents at the edge of the 'lair', about 20' from the party. The rodents will sound injured. Angelo will also toss some pebbles on the spot, to create some rustling in the leaves and branches.

GMEDWIN |

Angelo casts ghost sound to project the sound of wounded mice 20 feet away from the PCs.
Rolls
cobra Will saves DC14 c11d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9, fail
c2 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14, pass
c3 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19 pass
One cobra slithers its way out of the den towards the sound.

Jean-Phillipe Poulain |

"And you assume that once they can't find these mice, they'll never return to their home? I understand not wanting to upset the balance of nature, Membasi, but you want these things biting you people as you sleep? Their parents are gone. Put them down." He draws his bow once more.

Mem'basi |

"I though we decided that we weren't going to stay here! All I need is a bit of time to check the nest and see if there is something worth taking. Can you distract them for a bit?
Mem'basi casts hide from animals to as many as four people and then checks their nest. Tell me what sort of roll you want. It can't be stealth because they 'cannot' detect us (no eye, ear, scent, nothing) as long as we don;t attack them or directly touch them

Jean-Phillipe Poulain |

"This is as good a shelter as we might find in the next few hours. If you want to keep looking, I can do that. But eventually if we are to survive, we may have to permanently remove a shelter's current inhabitants."

Yoshiyaru |

Yoshiyaru sighed. Not wanting any part of either side, he simply moved away from the cobras' lair to wait until Mem'basi satisfied his curiosity.
"It doesn't matter to me either way. I'll wait here," the foreign half-elf said.
He turned his attention to his surroundings, taking up the role of sentry for the time being.

Angelo Carvesan |

"I was wondering, Mem'basi, if you can entangle them, then walk through and pop them into a sack while they're immobilized?" Angelo helpfully holds up a sack. "Then we could set them loose tomorrow, eh?"

GMEDWIN |

Mem'basi walks into the cobra's nest and inadvertently steps on one.
1d3 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 if my roll is off which squishes dead under his foot.

Round 1
Yoshi, Angelo, Membasi or Corvus, Poulain, Baby Cobra.

Yoshiyaru |

Yoshi, outside away from the nest, shook his head at the telltale sound of the druid stepping on the snake.
"Mem'basi-san, just leave it be. This is a waste of time," Yoshi said.
As Yoshi's no where near to the nest, and isn't going in, he'll delay until the end.

Mem'basi |

"Damn, that was not what I wanted to do. Angelo, get that bag over here; let's see if we can at least save this one. let's try not to hurt it too much.
Mem’basi non-lethal damage with spear
spear to hit: 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 6 - 4 = 5
spear non-lethal damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8
if/when the baby cobra is knocked out/subdued, Mem'basi will place it in a bag.
"Alright Poulain, you got your wish. We can lick our wounds here if you think there isn't anything better near by.
Anything valuable from past victims?
