Bloodcove gets a new batch of heroes, what will happen next??????

OK, that makes sense. I don't remember reading about any special XP to any one player yet so I presume we all obtained the same amount so far.

If so, can someone please tell what we have gained so I can start keeping track?

Thanks.

Male Half-elf Magus 4; AC 17, flat-footed 15, touch 12; HP 31/31; Init +2; Fort +8, Ref +5, Will +7; Perception +10

We should be at 10,080!

(9,000 is minimum for 4th, plus we gained XP twice.)

I actually include a note about the Medium track, like this:

Experience Points (Medium): 10,080

Thanks

No problem! :)

Oops! Sorry everyone, missed that!

585 XP Dragonelle
280 XP Ants
800 XP Cobras

9,000 Base XP for 4th
1,665 For encounters

TOTAL: 10,665 XP

I call boots! I's gonna make boots from them varmints, if no one else has a use for 'em.

BTW, I was just going through and updating some character notes, and wanted to remind everyone of $$ totals -
initial 500 gp / 6 = 83 gp (and change)
admiral's reward 300 gp / 5 = 60 gp (after Pirate Robert bit it)
in addition, some medications and mosquito netting.

Male Half-elf Magus 4; AC 17, flat-footed 15, touch 12; HP 31/31; Init +2; Fort +8, Ref +5, Will +7; Perception +10

So, 143gp each?

The idea is to cast hide from animals and poke around and explore their lair.

How do you interpret the spell? Would I be able to walk around inside, maybe even push the snakes aside with a stick without being noticed?

I'm asking because I heard different interpretations of it but Mem'basi would know how it works since it's not the first time he cast it.

BTW, what is the lair like? How big, where is it, etc.

Knowledge nature: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

Thanks.

Shot Putter Funkmeister

Its like a big bird's nest where cobras put their young... about ankle high.

OK, thanks.

What about the 'hide from animals' spell?

Will Mem'basi remain undetected if he goes to the nest, looks around. and 'gently' moves a snake or two, if needed, to get a better look at what's there?

Shot Putter Funkmeister

Nope the minute you touch the snake, your spell is cancelled...

male

OK, I'm assuming that you mean touch even if it's with a stick or something.

In that case, then Mem'basi will cast hide from animals and go to the nest and look around to see if there's anything of value. He will move things around without touching the snakes but maybe 'make' the snakes move for him if needed by using food or something else. I don't know how since I'm not a druid but Mem'basi might know (he got a pretty good k.nature roll). :)

I'm thinking of things like trailing a feather in front a cat will make the cat chase it, thus moving it while still remaining undetectable. Something like this for snakes.

Mem'basi wrote:

Yes, Mem'basi casts the spell like I said on Saturday's post. I'm waiting to find out what he finds, if anything. The idea is to loot their nests and then go on and find another place to rest.

Is everyone in agreement?

Yoshi is standing back keeping an eye on the surroundings.

He doesn't care either way (and truthfully, doesn't expect there to be anything in the serpents' lair anyway).

male

Hey GM,

Just curious so don't take it as an offense or anything like that.

From one GM to another, how did you determine that Mem'basi stepped on a baby cobra?

Did you roll anything or did you just think it would be good for the 'story/game'?

Shot Putter Funkmeister

Well, it seemed like a good idea... plus.. if anyone rolled a knowledge nature we could have moved forward... kind of a tangent... but what the hell.. my intention was not to kill the bugger but the dice go where they may...

Hey all - please pardon the spam, but I've got another group that's down one GM. Any help to take the recruitment call viral would be greatly appreciated!

We have a great group of 6 players assembled (and started off) for a Rise of the Runelords (Anniversary Edition) game.

We had a GM, but he has disappeared on us. We believe this is a medical issue - and we all understand (though we're a bit worried). It's been 2 months now since our old GM last posted on the boards anywhere, and as a group we've decided to either draft a new GM, or give up the ghost.

This is a good group - great characters, good interaction, good pace.

If you've considered running an RoR game, please take this as an opportunity to have a proven group, with lists and logistics and whatnot already set up.

Here is the original game campaign group, the gameplay thread, and also FYI there was significant RP in the initial recruitment thread.

Please post any response or discussion in the recruiting thread

male

Hey GM,

It seems like you post for 'this' game once every 2-3 days.

I don't want to pry on your business but is this rate temporary or will this be the pace for the game? I thought you wanted players who posted at least once per day.

Please let us know what's going on.

Thanks.

@Corvus - top line stat is set from the profile - i've added mine in the 'sex' line. the actual code is a bit complex, but here's a copy of mine (with [ changed to <))

@ Corvus - Just go to any of our character's profile page, and you'll see where we entered it.

While Angelo's is with his Gender, mine's with Class/Level, so you can do it several different ways! :)

Just to say I have no Internet at home - it's been intermittent for a few weeks and now it has given up altogether. They're not sure how long it will take to fix. So turns are limited to when I can get to a wifi site.

yeah - see, I scared 'em off by throwing my dagger at 'em... :)

well done all, apologies for my somewhat restrained participation.

BTW - lesson learned from other games (and Angelo would be down with this), "Many people in prison, even prisons of evil oppressors, really should not be released from prison."

question - does angelo have a route of escape, or is he stuck between the girallon and the charau-ka?

As soon as Angelo recovers from his current panic, he was going to in character encourage Corvus to go do the paladin whoop-ass thing, and allow Angelo to do a little recovery on Yoshi, and safeguard the archers. It would also be great if the archers would take an opportunity (with whatever clear shots they have) to pincushion the grape ape.

I don't have a problem with the play of Corvus's character. I'd encourage folks if their characters have a problem with Corvus's character to work it through in character. If folks have an issue with the player or the play, they should probably have that conversation in the discussion thread. But as I said, as a player, I don't have any issues with either the play, or the character.

As a character, Angelo sees Corvus as 1) a challenging personality - for conquest, and 2) a unique snowflake falling through the jungle, defying the inevitability of melting.

HP 31 of 31 - AC 19. - Init +3 - Fort +6 - Reflex +4 - Will +4 - BAB +4

There have been some interesting posts of late.  To clarify a few points...

1. Yoshiyaru asked for a warrior to stay back and defend the archers.  Corvus volunteered and was accepted.  That is not the same as not wishing to participate.  Corvus is ready to step in as soon as something comes close.  Or she can switch places with another character as Angelo suggests.

2. It is not that Corvus doesn't want to get involved. She won't draw first blood without provocation - and so won't take an attack of opportunity.  Nor will she simply wade in to fight if the opponent is not being hostile - and that includes animals. That's what Paladins do, "they adhere to ironclad laws of morality and discipline.". I fact, if I role-play outside of my stated moral code, the GM will ensure Corvus loses all paladin spells and class features.

3. If you think that a role-played paladin won't work in this scenario, then I can choose a different character or you can get a different PC.  It's up to you guys.

I don't have a problem with Corvus. :)

@GM Edwin - how long did the panic last? was it just the one round? Do I need to make another check to recover this round?

BTW, the 'share' setting on the map makes it findable - when you have the google 'share' box open, there's a drop-down about 2/3 of the way down, labeled "Access". The default is 'can view'. i think what you're looking for is the 'can edit' setting.

HP 31 of 31 - AC 19. - Init +3 - Fort +6 - Reflex +4 - Will +4 - BAB +4

Before I do anything next round, I want to make sure what's possible. In relation to the Totem, I need to know if I can Smite Evil? I presume the Totem would have to 'be' evil as opposed to an enchanted object. If so, I presume that destroying it will equate to it dying?

And finally, would the deflection bonus count against its effects?

I do appologize but I couldn't foresee the lack of internet.

Another strange thing is, I was not notified of new messages in the discussion thread. Hmmm, odd. Well anyway, I will be posting more often.
