Shot Putter Funkmeister

Hello

Male Human "Pirate" lvl 4

Arr! XD

glad to be here, now I drop to bed good night :)

Shot Putter Funkmeister

Hey all, before we start feel free to pick a place in Blood cove you would like to start from. You may want to check out this site: http://pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Bloodcove

or get familiar with the map which you can find it on google. If not PM me with your email address and I can email it to you.

Hey,

Thanks for selecting me!

With regards to your question, what's the hook for getting us together. I know we are all in Bloodcove and out of work but how do we know each other. Are we just out of work and drown our misery in a tavern? Is there perhaps a special place where 'day laborers' are picked?

The 'day laborers' seems promising. Looking at the map, maybe we all hang out near the Dockmasters Office since it is close to where the ships are docked (duh?) thus needing temporary labor to load and unload goods. Or maybe a tavern (The Witchlight or The Pirate's Hook)close to the sea (the outermost) would serve as a place where day laborers gather.

Thoughts?

WOOT!

This is going to be fun!

Yes, our characters should be looking for work, so anyplace that such people would gather sounds good.

Shot Putter Funkmeister

Tsk, Tsk, Tsk... I don't want to give anything away. This is one of the few adventures where the tavern is not the first act. Just pick a place in town and it is fine if they are all different.

Yoshiyaru will be at the Free Trade Square, looking for work.

BTW: Weekends will be light for posting for me (Saturday and Sunday I'll usually check in first thing in the morning and then again in the evening).

Mem'basi will hang out at the Dockmaster's Office looking for work, which is not really his main concern, but, more importantly, trying to see if he sees any sign of the poachers (backstory).

Shot Putter Funkmeister

I had an idea, if you could briefly summarize how your character got to Bloodcove, it would be pretty cool. I'll probably kick things off in an hour and then people can post when and how they're ready.

I am really excited.

Sorry, but are you talking about Mem'basi?

If so, then this is Mem'basi recent history:

backstory:
Mem'basi makes it his business to 'follow' jungle expeditions, both to help or hinder depending on the nature of the expedition. It was in this way that he came upon an expedition that was killing animals for no good reason. Mem’basi, a hunter himself, understood about taking lives so that wasn’t what bothered him; these people would kill animals and leave them to rot in the jungle. Birds were plucked of feathers and left, lizards were sheared off their hides, and the mighty rhino was brought down just for its horn. Mem’basi hunted them from the shadows, sabotaging the operation as much as he could but a war party that brought down a rhino was well prepared indeed. He trailed them all the way back to the mangrove town (Bloodcove) where he hoped to stop them before they got on their ships with their prizes. Mem’basi didn’t much care for the animal parts, those animals were already dead, but they also took many live animals with them. In the end, he could not prevent their parting. A final confrontation left the druid mortally wounded and with the bitter taste of defeat in his mouth. This was a few weeks ago.
Today the druid slinks in the shadows of the mangrove town in the hopes of seeing the poachers again. Feeling somewhat trapped in the town, he bids his time and does his best to ignore the jungle calling him back home.

Yoshiyaru and his elven father, Variel, were traveling by ship to Taldor (from the Dragon Empires), when a powerful storm came up. Variel was swept out to sea and the ship was blown off course. The ship, severely damaged, managed to put into port at Bloodcove, in the Mwangi Expanse. In the end, Yoshiyaru was stranded, as the repairs dragged on.

After several months, he had picked up the local language, but was running dangerously low on funds. Alone in a foreign land, Yoshiyaru must now look for some way to support himself...

HP 31 of 31 - AC 19. - Init +3 - Fort +6 - Reflex +4 - Will +4 - BAB +4

Delighted to be part of the party. Back later with a complete alias and location.

Male Human "Pirate" lvl 4

Ship is gone due to storm and drunken crew, Robert just gets to the shore with a boat

Fort:+8 Refl:+8 Will:+5 Init: +3 (+7 underground, +5 water) Perception +10 (+14 undergound, +12 water) Human (Galt) HP 31/46, BAB +6/1, AC 20 (17 flat, 14 touch) Ranger/Warden 5/Fighter 1

Jean-Phillipe is with Membasi.

Shot Putter Funkmeister

So comeon guys write your first stuff in the game section and get in the roleplay. Maybe you are looking for work, came in from a hunt, your ship sank.

Male Human "Pirate" lvl 4

Sorry, didn't know we can already post.

HP 31 of 31 - AC 19. - Init +3 - Fort +6 - Reflex +4 - Will +4 - BAB +4

Alias finished...reason for being in Bloodcove done...just need to confirm location. Probably heading for a chapel of Sarenrae if there is one.

Shot Putter Funkmeister

I would say their might be a small shrine to Sarenrae at the Chellish embassy.

male (HP 27/27 | AC 16 | T 12 | FF 14 | CMD 16 | F +1 | R +5 | W +4 | Init +2 | Per +0) Human (Sarvagan) Bone Oracle 4/Sanctified Rogue 1

alias set up initially - i'll probably clean up during this coming week. Right now, I'm anxious to jump in. BTW, full sheet is linked off the alias profile.

Since we're to choose a neighborhood to come from, I'll assume it's OK to look at the inside cover map of the module?

Fort:+8 Refl:+8 Will:+5 Init: +3 (+7 underground, +5 water) Perception +10 (+14 undergound, +12 water) Human (Galt) HP 31/46, BAB +6/1, AC 20 (17 flat, 14 touch) Ranger/Warden 5/Fighter 1

Just to put this out there: Jean-Phillipe will be gruff and terse, but definitely don't mistake that for me not being into this or something. That's just the way he is.

Jean-Phillipe Poulain wrote:

That's good to know. I was starting to worry. :)

And you can also thanking me for resisting the impulse to go full-on Chris Claremont/bad accent with Jean. "Eeet eees my 'happy face,' non?"

<sigh> I'm just going to have to write Angelo with a thesaurus, english-italian dictionary, The Big Easy on the DVD, and Zydeco on for tunes.

Male Human "Pirate" lvl 4

I have to polish up my piratey speech too, it doesn't help that even basic English isn't my native language

o.O

Shot Putter Funkmeister

I agree Sargava could be a New Orleans, Port Peril i would equate with Tortuga. I see Bloodcove having an odd mix of Curacao, Kingston, Maputo(Mozambique) and Saigon all during colonial times but run by businesses like the old Dutch colonies. The Mwangis are pretty much in power but Aspis pulls the strings.

/has no clue

@gmedwin - i have the feeling Chealiax's assault on Sargava was a pretty direct lift from The Battle of New Orleans, with the role of Jean Lafitte taken by the Shackle Pirates. but I may be projecting.

@cofrez - New Orleans is a fairly genteel colonial holding, with a lot of character and flavor (not all of it precisely nice), but leading to a fairly functional component of local national entities. Unique and a bit... 'off center', but functional. GMEdwin's examples (Tortuga, Curacao, Kingston, Mozambique, and Saigon) pretty well abandoned any pretense at governance by central authority. Enforcement of anything like national authority was gone, and the areas became shelters for illegal trade, commodities, and people. They're really interesting studies because there is a common thread of a local power keeping some level of order - enough to conduct business, maintain a level of business and population.

Shot Putter Funkmeister

As far as colonial models were concerned, the Spanish and English generally were more interested in governance whereas the Portugues and French were standoffish and the Dutch government, in the early years, let the businesses run everything.

@Angelo, I don't disagree. Although it could be like something Morgan or Drake did, too. Its neat how Paizo picks and chooses different elements in the flavors of locations.

@GMEdwin - Drake cheated against the Spanish Armada. Magic was just 'not cricket'. I'll have to keep it in mind ;)

Shot Putter Funkmeister

true, but that's how pirates do... :)

Male Human "Pirate" lvl 4

Ju mussa be kiddin, we's in da Bloodcove, there bein da Mightyie Mangrove twreee, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Translation please

Shot Putter Funkmeister

You must be kidding, we are in Bloodcove, there is the mighty mangrove tree. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Shot Putter Funkmeister

Here you can get the map for Bloodcove.

http://www.google.ru/imgres?imgurl=http://machinespirit.net/ace/pf/Pathfind er%2520-%2520%255BMAP%255D/Bloodcove_Map.jpg&imgrefurl=http://machinesp irit.net/ace/pf/Pathfinder%2520-%2520%255BMAP%255D/&h=1022&w=807&am p;sz=237&tbnid=e14d3reeEqjCtM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=71&zoom=1&u sg=__AbKMDl5Cj2Tc9AvBfXi16CrIhAo=&docid=g3yJ7EiT4JqjmM&hl=ru&sa =X&ei=fIYoUMvPNdTb4QSe_YCYCw&ved=0CHYQ9QEwBQ&dur=1875

I would think Robert would be somewhere at the far edge on the boardwalk in 1.
Membasa and Poulain at 4
Yoshiyaru is somewhere at 4
and Corvus and Angelo are making their way from 21 to 12. If I am wrong or you want to be anywhere else just map tell me the number or letter on the map.

male (HP 27/27 | AC 16 | T 12 | FF 14 | CMD 16 | F +1 | R +5 | W +4 | Init +2 | Per +0) Human (Sarvagan) Bone Oracle 4/Sanctified Rogue 1

@gmedwin - correct for corvus.

a slightly better link

Male Human "Pirate" lvl 4

You mean I can see a settlement? I assumed I would be out of sight of one.

Shot Putter Funkmeister

It looks much different than any other settlement youve been to, I figured your character was just really hungover but if you want you could be wedged on one of the roots of the great mangrove tree, where you can see the tree but no buildings.

Male Human "Pirate" lvl 4

okay, that would work

Male Half-elf Magus 4; AC 17, flat-footed 15, touch 12; HP 31/31; Init +2; Fort +8, Ref +5, Will +7; Perception +10

Ooh! Pretty map! (I like maps!)

@ GMEDWIN - So I'll wait until you have a good spot to bring Yoshi into the story. :)

Shot Putter Funkmeister

If there aren't any objections, I will push it forward around 11pm my time...

Just a quick post to let you know that Mem'basi is still around, no rush or anything.

Shot Putter Funkmeister

i figured your rp with poulain fizzled a bit. But if you want to continue the rp, you could always do that.

Fort:+8 Refl:+8 Will:+5 Init: +3 (+7 underground, +5 water) Perception +10 (+14 undergound, +12 water) Human (Galt) HP 31/46, BAB +6/1, AC 20 (17 flat, 14 touch) Ranger/Warden 5/Fighter 1

Sorry, Mem. Still adjusting to not being a beach bum.

Male Half-elf Magus 4; AC 17, flat-footed 15, touch 12; HP 31/31; Init +2; Fort +8, Ref +5, Will +7; Perception +10

Greetings All!

I was curious what Time Zones we're all in.

I'm in Colorado, so I'm currently on Mountain Daylight Time (MDT), which is currently GMT (or UTC) -6 hours.

Shot Putter Funkmeister

Im on MST which GMT +4.

@Yoshi, you'll get a crack for round 2...

Male Half-elf Magus 4; AC 17, flat-footed 15, touch 12; HP 31/31; Init +2; Fort +8, Ref +5, Will +7; Perception +10

Cool.

Um, isn't Mountain Standard Time = GMT -7 hours?

(It is 2:11 pm in Colorado as I post this.)

male (HP 27/27 | AC 16 | T 12 | FF 14 | CMD 16 | F +1 | R +5 | W +4 | Init +2 | Per +0) Human (Sarvagan) Bone Oracle 4/Sanctified Rogue 1

Currently Easyern daylight + nightowl time

Fort:+8 Refl:+8 Will:+5 Init: +3 (+7 underground, +5 water) Perception +10 (+14 undergound, +12 water) Human (Galt) HP 31/46, BAB +6/1, AC 20 (17 flat, 14 touch) Ranger/Warden 5/Fighter 1

Eastern Standard. BROOKLYN!

Eastern standard here in Florida.

Shot Putter Funkmeister

You mean RMST, I mean MST which is Moscow Standard Time. Teaching these Russians a thing or three !!!

Shot Putter Funkmeister

Anyway, Mem and Poulain will be in for round 2 and Corvus and Angelo for round 3 due to the greater distance and indirect route.
