The halfling turns the fragments about in her hands, running her fingers over the carved ruins as if feeling the message of the tablets.
Know Arcana: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32
Absentmindedly, Arisrira waves off the potion, pointing to Valin to take an extra, before returning to her studies.

![]() |

Arisira finds that the tablet is completely corrupted from its original purpose. It was originally meant to provide a defense against otherworldly influence, the altered inscription details how to welcome a fiendish spirit into one’s body, describing giving one’s soul over to such beings as a wonder greater than gold.
You know how to twist this ritual table to back to its original purpose and can use it to purge someone of possession at least temporarily.
That character can activate the tablet as a standard action to force any creature possessed by a fiendish spirit to succeed at a DC 20 Will save or be stunned for 1 round.
Moving over to the breached wall - it is the same chamber you fought the small asura the last time you were here. The giant seal built by Jetembe and his Magic Warriors has been destroyed and a large hole in the wall leads down to a chamber.
We can...maybe rebuild it but there are those Aspis agents down there even as we speak trying to break open the seal. A small number of grippli mystics run down the stairs past you.
They will do their best to keep the fiend, Parveen, in check but you will have to hurry to help them and put down the fiend for long enough that we can seal it again...

![]() |

Mak'da grimaes, Very well, lets get down there quickly. She peers into the hole, judging how much space there is.
Can a huge T'Khan fit down there?

![]() |

Vera nods. "We'll get to the seal as quickly as possible." She holds her rapier in her and and tries to look like she's ready to almost die again.

![]() |

T Khan will fit just fine - place was built for Giants
As you proceed down the stairs you see torn rubble as multiple berries have been picked through. The team of grippli scramble into the gap to chant as you see the fiend break its bonds and listless Aspis agents turn their pickaxes in your direction.

Purple Fort Save: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28

Mak'da's spell fails to turn the purple clothed aspis agent - clearly possessed from his jerky movements - into a tortoise.

Reflex, Haste: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 6 + 1 + 5 = 32
Just as a note, if you drop a blade barrier directly on someone the save is to negate all damage rather than halve. Mak'da has therefore taken either no damage or 17 depending on the trip
Mak'da glides forward, into the ground, under the enemy and ppops up behind them.
This provokes from Purple if he wasnt tripped, otherwise it doesnt.
As she rises out of the ground she raises one hand and casts a spell, tying to dispel the wall.
CL check: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
But without success. She orders T'Khan to stay for now as she doesnt want him to get shredded by the wall.

I leave it up to you, since you have earned us this victory

Vera moves up to Valen, and kneels. "My friend I will raise you. As soon as we finish this, and I can pray for my spells you will come back."

Arisira will also contribute
The Halfling turns to Mother Bogwynne to echo the thoughts of her companions. "It seems only right that we rebind the creature. However, I am afraid I do not know the ritual. Will you help guide regarding what needs to be done?"

![]() |

The Good News is that I do know the ritual, or enough of it anyway, to make it work. Unfortunately the ritual will cost quite a bit of money in material component that we do not currently have. If we had the backing of the Society's financiers we might be able to do it however...
Say the letters of marque that the Trade Prince provided for Arisira and Mak'da
Upon seeing those letters the Mother Boggwyne and Purrpurup are more than happy to accept the terms of the proffered trade deal and soon you are able to acquire the material components you need.
Since Vera is casting the spell, you only need to cover 5000 in material components for Valin, which comes out to 1750 gold a piece, which I am more than happy to deduct from the chronicle sheet.
The grippli spend the next week or so with your aid rebuilding the seals. The lizardfolk and grippli of the Kaava lands have been hailing you as the heroes you are, building edifices in your likeness

True to form, Arisira quickly finds herself on a makeshift stage surrounded by a cloud of Cigar smoke. "And then we snuck into the very cave where we knew the thunderbird eggs would be located before... ZAP! Blindsided by a blast of electrical energy so strong that..."
