Hey y’all. A heads-up: you will be hitting level 2 sometime soon. It’d be great if you could get your level 2 character sheets ready now, so that they’re ready to go with relative ease when I say it’s “go time”.
Thanks!
GM Dink

Was there time to shop some things before the new mission kicks in? Jaxom wanted to grab an infrared sensor for his armor so he has darkvision!
How much are we splitting in credits August? Give us a nice round number I say, and keep the rest as “group funds” I say, but dole most of it out.

The loot was worth 742 credits total at the secondhand store (which was out of raspberry berets if you can believe it) and we split it 5 ways for 148.4 creds. If you don't want the change I'm happy to keep it for you!
I, at least, am keeping track of my decicreds given the high purchase/low sell nature of Starfinder loot but YMMV.
One of the reasons I like the idea of using UPB's is the extremely low return on sellback when purchasing upgraded equipment. Granted part of that could be that most AP's are balanced for four players so the loot generally feels low to each individual player even though the party is stronger.

You got it! With the 200 credit "signing bonus" we should have each earned 905.2 credits after expenses.
August is going to pick up a static arc pistol and a spare battery for 810 credits leaving him with 111.2 credits and 100 UPB by the way. The arc pistol will be his quick-draw weapon.
He'll also charge the azimuth pistol and spare battery so he should have 2 spare batteries he can swap between the laser and the arc pistols.

My 2nd-level character sheet is ready to go when the time comes. I'm going to take inspiring boost to help mitigate stamina damage. At this level, it can heal each of you 8 Stamina Points between 10-minute rests.

Idar gets a Combat Feat at 2nd level. I'm thinking I should just plunk it down on Weapon Focus (Heavy Weapons).
Reasonable alternatives include Mobility (to qualify to Shot on the Run later), Deadly Aim, or Fleet.
Idar is also going to buy another healing serum, and some other bric-a-brac. Contemplating buying a longsword, but I need to count up the Bulk of his equipment before adding one.

I would say that you guys had time to hit up a shop and buy a thing or two, but the email to you, Jaxom, said "come when you can" - the next morning might be a bit too loose of an interpretation of that phrase, but we will see...

A lot of them are great but I think Energize Spell is the best pick: it just gets better over time so you can eventually get an extra 6th level spell once per day for a total outlay of negligible credits.

Off-balance and under-prepared - that’s how I like to keep my players!

Telion of Castrovel |

I'm going to buy a pile of serums of healing, and maybe take a look at other stuff with whatever I have left. I'll update my inventory and add a second level character sheet later on tonight once I get home.
I just had a minute to look at the loot sheet, you guys have done a fantastic job organizing it!

Telion, given that Diamaante and August rolled Disguise checks of 22 and 25 respectively, it’s not going to be so easy to spot them. You only pick out Jaxom at the location.

Telion of Castrovel |

Fair enough, I figured they'd let me know who they were when we arrived and met up, but I'll let them reveal that if they so choose.

Telion of Castrovel |

Telion's not certain that August's not an ysoki wearing an android suit, since he's so skittish and paranoid.

Telion of Castrovel |

From what we've seen so far, a skittermander couldn't stand to sit still so long smoking only 1 cigarette at a time.

There's one in the Alien Archive isn't there? Let me check my notes.
Nope, that's a two-handed heavy weapon - the acid lancers.
I totally didn't notice the diasporan laser sniper rifle tree the last time I went through the book. Those actually make debilitating sniper worthwhile.

Excellent. Although August's paranoia turning him into the Punisher (sans van for the moment) with a massive variety of weaponry squirreled away just in case wasn't something I originally anticipated.

Telion of Castrovel |

Telion picked up a 6-pack of healing serums during his shopping trip, but couldn't find any armor he was happy with. Perhaps when he has more time to try it on and model it for people.
At level 2 he'll be picking up Stellar Rush, cause it's an awesome skill that will help mobility.

I've been thinking about telepathy, and I may have been playing it incorrectly. I wanted to address it before moving forward.
Telion and Diamaante, in keeping with typical lashuntae, have telepathy, allowing them to communicate non-verbally with folks within 30 feet. Shirren can do the same. They cannot read the mental communication of those people, however, unless they choose to use their once-daily detect thoughts spell at the same time.
Others cannot 'project' their thoughts and expect the lashuntae or shirren to pick them up.
I didn't know if I had clarified things. I may have "hand-waved" it in the Fusion Queen.
Cool? Cool.

Totally fine GM - although handwavium could make sense. If you think about how cheap subvocal mics and bone conduction radios probably are I don't think it'll be a big issue either way.
Speaking of, how much for those things if you're cool pricing random equipment given the pace of releases?

![]() |

Until I see specific pricing for a piece of equipment that allows you to mimic a core ability of one of the Starfinder races, I’m not willing to make such an item available for purchase.
