From this post, there's no climb check needed. :) Spend 4 squares of movement, you're up.
Barred hurries up the stairs and stands at the top-- and can see the lorestone for which they came at his feet! It's a rock no larger than his fist, covered with a number of strange inscriptions. Barred can also see, from his new vantage point, the sun starting to rise through the trees...
Barred, I'll assume you'd like to use your move action to pick it up? Let me know if not... though Cym's actions will be the same either way.
"Dog! Gibbering ape! Miscegenated spawn of all the riverbank toads!" Cymflynder shouts wildly from beneath Barred, spittle and blood flying from his lips. "How dare you! Those are the secrets of MY kind to reclaim! Give it back!"
Acrobatics to avoid AOO from Rogar: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (15) + 14 = 29
The quickling darts out of Rogar's reach easily and fixes all his attention on Barred, racing towards him through the writhing grasses. The quickling disdains the stairs completely, simply vaulting up through the air like a grasshopper and clearing the ten vertical feet as though it were barely a log to leap over. Furiously, Cymflynder stabs at Barred.
"MINE!"
Vs Barred: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
Damage: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3
(No vs entangle reflex save needed from those atop the plinth)

Well, it looks like Rogar has it to cast on us? That's what chis post has me thinking.
Reflex: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Kaya shuddered at the feeling of the plants finally wrapping about her legs. Ugh, it was so strange and slightly... violating. Eurgh. She really, really didn't like it - Kaya attempted to wriggle her way out, not actually wanting to hurt the plants, but wanting to get free all the same.
Escape Artist: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Escape artist against an entangle is a full-round action, right?

GM Dien |

The entangle spell. Escaping it is a move action. Just a reminder that the entangled condition doesn't STOP movement, it just makes you move half speed, which will effectively be quarter-speed because of the difficult terrain.
Kaya, since you start the turn in the entangle and have previously made your saves against it, you COULD choose to just use your first four squares of movement to get on top of the plinth, at which point you don't need to make a save vs Entangle. If you would like to do that, you may, at which point you'll still have a standard action left. Of course, this would also put you next to Cymflynder.
Reidog and Calder work to get inside and help their allies, but the plants impede their progress. Uhoh.

Woops, no, I misread that as a 9 somehow. Sorry, you're fine!

![]() |

Taking yet another wound Barred drops the lorestone down to Geera and Kaya at the base of the stone and turns expecting to take another stab from the fast moving pest.
Full of bluff and bravado "Well come on then, is that all you got?"
I assume getting the stone to them is a standard action for a smooth hand-off.

GM Dien |

Barred, I'd let that be a move action to basically drop it to them- not quite a free action since you're trying specifically to make sure they get it, but realistically you're just sticking your hand out and letting go. You have a standard action left if you want it.

![]() |

I didn't realize! :D It'll, probably put me down, but I believe Kaya's still stealthed, so could she sneak attack him? If so, that would be her action - going up and sneak attacking him.

![]() |

Oh I do. His quote stands but followed with a strike.

GM Dien |

Kaya: Go for it! And yes, the plinth has been between him and you, so yeah, I'll totally give you the stealth and the sneak attack. One general note in play-by-post is that it's often convenient to simply type out the thing you're going to do and ask the GM if it's legal-- if it's not legal, the GM will almost always tell you, no, that won't work, and allow you a chance to decide a different action. But asking 'can I do x' can result in a long delay in PBP, as you have to wait for the GM to answer the question, and then the game has to wait for you to get a chance to act accordingly if it's a yes. Does that make sense? (This isn't criticism, it's just explaining one of the little quirks of PBP play that can sometimes make games go slower, and that's why this is a learning game. :) )
Cym's Blur, high is a hit for Barred: 1d100 ⇒ 86 Crunch!

Kaya definitely does have reason to wish she was holding her new cold iron dagger-- her strike is dead on target, but the magical nature of Cymflynder's fey flesh enables him to laugh off the blow as he is definitely not laughing off Barred's. He sneers at her with his mouthful of busted teeth. "You'll be next."

Rogar, Calder, and Reidog all begin to inexorably close on the plinth despite the cursed grasses...
Kaya is correct, the plint is 10 feet up so short of a reach weapon you can't hit him 'from the ground'. However, he's about to no longer be there. Because he's a jerk.
Kaya: There's a wonderful thing in the rules called "aid another" which mechanically reflects the distracting tactic you're trying to do. By making an attack vs AC 10 (usually much easier than most monster's AC!), you can give an adjacent ally a +2 to their to-hit roll. Since your rapier won't do much if any damage to Cymflynder (because it's not cold iron), I'm willing to make your roll there an attempted aid another, if you like. Sadly, even with the +2 Barred still wouldn't have hit.
Geera heals the doughty brawler to keep him on his feet and fighting the good fight! Cymflynder looks angrily around at the foes closing in on him, and narrows his gaze at Geera.

GM Dien |

Okay, several things to clarify here:
Barred, it's not exactly a full-round action: you'd make your reflex save on entering the zone, but entangled doesn't stop your move, it just cuts it down a lot, so you could theoretically still attack.
Rogar, you're narrating attacking but you're nowhere near Cymflynder, he's on the other side of the plinth from you and moved down there to attack Geera before your turn. I stated earlier, in response to your last post and question about attacking him on the plinth, that he wasn't going to be standing there any longer. Please check the map before assuming you're adjacent to a foe. Given the entangled area is all difficult terrain, you would have had no way of having reached Cymflynder on that turn to attack. (Not enough move.)
Also, I assume you're on your phone and that it probably auto-corrects you a lot, but as a GM, I do appreciate clarity in player posts. "Rogar will base cypher and swing" is... well, I'm not really sure what you were saying there honestly, other than assuming you mean Cymflynder by cypher. Anyway, I'll permit you a retcon to double move instead, but you need to actually post that you're doing so before he takes his next turn, or I'll consider you to have delayed instead.
Geera, given the difficult terrain of the entangle, you can't 5-ft step, so moving away from him would have had to be a move action, and your movement would have provoked. Normally I'd just rule you provoke and manage to stow the wand (with no bomb), but given several people are going to have a chance to clarify actions, you can retcon if you like (but we'll keep the move, given that Kaya is now standing where you were. Still, you can try to Acro to avoid the AOO if you like).
Calder's disarm vs Blur, high is good (20% miss chance): 1d100 ⇒ 8 ....well, dang, sorry Calder. That would have been a really cool moment. :( It was a good tactic anyway and you can always try it again.
Kaya, in Pathfinder, unless your line of vision is specifically blocked, you're considered to be 'aware' of stuff in 360 degrees. So no, the fact that Cym's focus is on Geera is not sufficient to give you the chance for a stealth check: you would need some sort of solid object between you and him to break line of sight. No sneak attack. However, you did still roll a critical hit, so let's see about the blur:
Kaya vs Blur, 20% miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 71 A hit!
Kaya's second d6 of damage, for the critical rapier hit: 1d6 ⇒ 5
You might want to consider switching to your cold iron dagger, Kaya-- after the DR, unfortunately only 1 point of your critical got through to him. Of course, if you hit him hard enough and get sneak in there too, you can still potentially overcome his DR.
Calder tries to disarm the fey, but the creature's magical protections ruin an artful whip strike! Kaya slithers down into the space where Geera just stood and stabs-- drawing blood, but only a thin trickle of it.
Still Round 8/9- clarifications and retcon chances, bold may act!
Barred (-2 HP, cold blessing on his fists) (his round 9 action; he can still attack, albeit with the penalties for entangled (-2 to attack) (entangled)
Cymflynder -16 HP, blurred
Rogar (May retcon his turn, since he couldn't attack)

Where did you state that? This was your posted turn:
Rogar will base cypher and swing
atk: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
dmg: 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (6, 4) + 13 = 23
With a powerful swing rogar comes down hard on cypher.
I see nothing in there about moving, and, again, you can't reach him in a single move from where your token is. It's difficult terrain and you have a base speed of 20'. There is no open square adjacent to Cymflynder that you can reach with 2 squares of movement. If you don't state your character is moving in a way I can understand, and you don't move your token, and you don't explain your token needs moving, I'm hard-pressed to grasp how I can make that leap.
***
Barred, no worries, entangle is honestly a really annoying and convoluted spell and I've had to recheck the text on it like eight times this scenario. You're fine.

![]() |

It is difficult terrain because of the spell. However, it is difficult whether you are entangled or not. If you are entangled your movement is halved again.
-Posted with Wayfinder

![]() |

This spell causes tall grass, weeds, and other plants to wrap around creatures in the area of effect or those that enter the area. Creatures that fail their save gain the entangled condition. Creatures that make their save can move as normal, but those that remain in the area must save again at the end of your turn. Creatures that move into the area must save immediately. Those that fail must end their movement and gain the entangled condition. Entangled creatures can attempt to break free as a move action, making a Strength or Escape Artist check. The DC for this check is equal to the DC of the spell. The entire area of effect is considered difficult terrain while the effect lasts
And NVM the last sentence always gets you lol.
GM I will double move.

Seeing as Geera had more people close enough to run interference,
she swapped her rapier out for the cold iron dagger she'd obtained before this all-too-green adventure had begun. Truly, forest-inhabitants killing a druid?
Definitely bizarre. Still, it was what it was.
Newly armed with the dagger, she ducked a bit behind Rogar, trying to sort out her next attack.

As it was, she nearly fell over - she hadn't quite been as balanced on her feet as she might've liked to be. Ugh. So much for trying to be sneaky.
