I thought rope was a 2 that's why lol
-Posted with Wayfinder

GM Dien |

Good catch, Reidog, especially since that difference of +2 means Rogar makes it. :)
Nearly slipping in the tricky crossing of the slick logs, Rogar manages to grab the rope at the last minute and keeps from going under...
The atomie looks flustered at the bat closing in on its? his? location. The tiny fairy wings a short distance back from the bat and looses its crossbow at the bat.
Crossbow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
The bolt goes wide, however, and the fairy jams another into the tiny weapon, shrieking curses in Sylvan.
Round 2 - bold may act

Barred -1 HP
Cymflynder -4 hp

Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
With little else to do Barred attempts to close the distance and is immediately entangled.
"Cursed plants."

GM Dien |

The quickling chuckles condescendingly at Barred's entanglement in the plants. "Curse the plants? They were here before you. You're the cursed nuisance. But soon you all will be gone!"
He dances nimbly out through the grasses, this time closing on Geera, as the source of the fire that has singed him.
Attack vs Geera: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Damage: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
The blade lands with the flat of it rather than the point, bruising Geera's froggy skin. (1 NL to Geera) This time, the quickling stands still next to Geera, his blurry smile bright and homicidal at her.
"Did you want to dance, frog?"

Kaya attempted to move forward quietly and cringed when she stomped through a branch, causing the whole thing to crackle as it snapped.
Stealth: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
So much for being sneaky, she thought, wincing. She looked around for some other cover or useful bit of greenery - aside from the mass that had grown ahead.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Not wanting to get in the way - and still wanting a moment to hide properly (she was no good in direct combat after all), she tried to step around a tree, hoping that the bat was keeping the atomie preoccupied as she drew her rapier.

![]() |

Can I make it off the bridge?
Acrobatics: 1d20 - 2 + 4 ⇒ (20) - 2 + 4 = 22
* Woo!
Drawing the Cold Iron Warhammer, Reidog double-moves past Geera (provoking an AoO, AC 18) and stands ready to bash the quickling.
"Rogar, get in position and get ready to grab the little thing"
In case I earn an AoO sometime:
Warhammer,Flank: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 2 = 16

Ouch! This guy is getting on my nerves!
Geera takes a five foot step back and aims a bomb at the intersection south-east of the quickling.
Bomb, point-blank shot: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 1 = 14
4 Fire damage, DC 14 Reflex save for half
Geera draws her cold iron dagger, so she now threatens.

Geera takes a five foot step back and aims a bomb at the intersection south-east of the quickling.
Oops, sorry for getting in the way. I should have waited for you to go first. I can take a little splash, though.

Double move to try to make it across the bridge
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21

GM Dien |

As Reidog passes, the quickling strikes with his rapier in a lazy fashion. Lazy as it may be, it's a surgically precise strike, just opening a nick on the doughty dwarf's face, trickling blood down into his beard.
AOO vs Reidog: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
Damage: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
"The party grows! Haha! Yes, come one, come all!" cries Cymflynder-- and dodges Geera's thrown bomb with easy grace.
Cymflynder Reflex: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28
He seems to not suffer the fire's blast at all with how he twists and weaves.
While Kaya tries to find a good spot to hide-- there's no shortage of cover about, with the tall standing monoliths, but those fairy eyes are sharp-- an aerial battle is taking place overhead.
Bat bites atomie: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 whish!
Atomie shoots bat!: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Wee crossbow: 1d4 ⇒ 3
With a plaintive squeak, the bat is skewered by a crossbow bolt and falls in a spiral down to earth to be swallowed by the grasses. The atomie laughs in maniacal triumph.... and reloads.

Escape Artist: 1d20 ⇒ 9 bahh
"Curse you ya mindless plants."
"Should not have rushed in at the blighter! Of course I did not expect him to move out of this safe space in the plants."

GM Dien |

Barred, take a looksee at the entangle spell. Since you're already entangled, at this point it's no longer a reflex save but an Escape Artist check. So I don't think you make it, but let me know if I'm wrong.
I'll post later today with Cym's actions.

GM Dien |

Had to do a re-read myself of the entangled condition as well as the spell... so yes, move action to attempt the escape artist, which Barred failed, but entangled doesn't stop him from moving, it just imposes half-speed. So he was able to use his standard then to actually get out of the grasses and be next to Cymflynder now, and I'm going to say is no longer entangled because he's no longer in the zone. /overexplanation
Noted, Reidog, thanks!
Cymflynder looks around at the Pathfinders moving to surround him and smiles darkly. "Oh no... you've caught me," he says in a lilting tone of voice, his hand with its sword lowering to his side as he makes no attack at either Reidog or Barred.
A second later, he fades entirely from sight.
Left Cymflynder's token on the map where you last saw him.

Not wanting to crowd her companions - and also not wanting to draw any attention to herself, Kaya attempted to hide again.
Stealth: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
She, uh, wasn't making a lot of progress in that department.
Seeing as there wasn't much else she could do - not without trying to deal with the overgrowth, she again slipped her hand into the bag Gire had given her, drawing out another fuzzy ball and again, throwing it at the tiny fey.
Bag of Tricks: 1d100 ⇒ 6
Kaya stared, astonished. What were the odds of another bat? Still, it was another bat that she'd found.
"Attack the little fey," she ordered the bat.
Annnnd, that's both uses of them. Hopefully, it works out?

GM Dien |

Kaya, the bag of tricks has unfortunately reached its limit for the day (it can only produce two creatures a day, and Gire produced one). Feel free to retcon your turn if you like.

It doesn't appear to have been a spell, unfortunately. (Nor an SLA either.)
Geera's bomb flies true, and crunches into the tiny atomie, nearly knocking it from the sky and badly burning it. The atomie squeaks raggedly and struggles to stay aloft with its singed wings.
Rogar left to act
(Also, yes, Reidog- if the quickling takes an AOO on you it would become visible, but apparently the quickling is refraining from doing so.)

Rogar swings, but his blow doesn't connect with anything.
Atomie perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Unable to see where Kaya went, the atomie attacks Geera as the source of that terrible bomb.

To be true to character to date it would make sense for him to be swinging at air.

GM Dien |

Concealment 1, high is a hit: 1d100 ⇒ 62
Barred swings... and connects! He feels his cold-iron clad knuckles crunch into delicate bones, and when he draws back his fist, it's bloodied.
"Brute!" Cymflynder spits. "Very well-- I shall cease toying with you! Die then!"
The quickling becomes visible again, albeit still blurry, as he attempts to dance around the Pathfinders and take advantage of his own blurred state to deliver an unseen strike.
Stealthing as part of move, thanks to concealment: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (16) + 15 = 31 Wooof, yeah, I don't think any of you can see him. Sorry. :-\
You collectively seem to have lost track of the quickling, so fast does he move as he circles around Barred and stabs in retaliation for that cold iron fist to the face.
Rapier vs Barred's flat-footed: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28 Potential critical
Confirm?: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12 Does not confirm
Damage: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3
Though you can see him again, the quickling is just too fast for a retaliatory strike, dashing back into the safety of the writhing plants with a sneer. (He's using Spring Attack and his stealth, so, effectively he was stealthed until he got to the square NE of Barred, attacked (breaking his stealth), and then Barred gets no AOO on him when he pulls away due to the Spring Attack)
"Come and get me if you dare! The sun is rising, fools!"

Someone assisting on that grapple check could probably turn it into a success... Not sure what his CMD actually is, but it is likely high.

Calder will move behind Barred, his back to the river.
"Nice shot Barred, you seem either lucky or especially perceptive, friend. Allow me to put some emphasis on the cold* part of those cold iron gauntlets of yours!"
Calder lifts his hand and just like back at the hut, a spiral of two snake-like dragon figures made of mist emerge and entwine themselves over the gauntlet covering Barred's right hand, dissipating moments later and leaving an icy aura surrounding the weapon.
Same as before, will do 1d4 extra cold damage for the next minute

Stealth: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 Didn't remember if these had to keep going?
At the reminder of the rising sun, Kaya gave the area a look, hoping to see some sign of the lorestone. After all, if this person wanted to destroy it, it wasn't as though he could hide it on his person as the sun came up.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Still, she wasn't sure what to do. It wasn't as though she could guess as to the amazingly fast fey's next move.
Is looking around for the lorestone a standard/movement in this case?

GM Dien |

Barred: Nobody's really made any mention they're looking for it. ;) Until Kaya's most recent post actually...
Reidog: yes, you can ready to attack/it would work in the middle of a spring attack!
Kaya: GMs may vary but I'd basically allow your stealth to remain until you did something to break it (attacking, moving into an area with no cover, that sort of thing).
Geera's bomb goes wide, singing grasses but not coming close to the mocking fey, his good looks somewhat ruined by the blood on his face from Barred's strike.
Kaya hugs the shelter of the monolith, using it to keep out of sight of their enemy, and scans the area for the lorestone itself. Just on the off-chance hope...
....and fate rewards her with that natural 20!. Glancing at the big plinth-altar that dominates the center of the druidic circle, Kaya is sure she sees a small rock resting atop the edge, juuust visible over the rim. It seems to have been positioned atop the ten-foot high block so that it will catch the first rays of the rising sun more swiftly!
The atomie flies forward in a wobbly fashion, slotting another arrow into its tiny crossbow, its singed wings drooping but not ready to flee the fight, it seems.

------- Held Action --------

Barred rushes, as best he can in the weeds, to the bast of the large stone in the center of the area intending to climb the stone next round.

![]() |

Ooooh, okay, thanks! That's really good to know. c:
As soon as she saw it, Kaya made for the stone, doing her best to dodge the growth moving around her.
Reflex: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
She wasn't sure she could snag the stone - the area was... well. Difficult to traverse. But she thought she might at least be able to cover it and protect it from the sun. With that in mind, she loosened her cloak.
At Barred's frustrated question, she pointed at the center of the area, giving up her stealth in favor of informing her party and called out, "Right there! In the middle!"
Not sure how far she makes it through the undergrowth? She'd try to get as close to the stone as she could and throw her cloak over it (and maybe Barred if he's already got it, lol. Sun is rising, after all.)
For her next turn, I guess? /facepalm She was looking for it, so I don't know if I get to move. o:

GM Dien |

Kaya, to actively perceive something like you did is a move action. So yeah, you'll be able to move on this coming turn.
Barred, you're in luck, it's actually DC 13. :)
At Kaya's cry, Barred looks where she's pointing, and then bravely charges forward into the maddeningly animate undergrowth. His footwork serves him well, as he manages to avoid being caught by the lashing vines despite the difficulty of the terrain!
Cymflynder hisses at Barred's advance, his smugness flickering. "No! Fool, what are you doing! Get away from there!"
The quickling tears towards Barred, face contorted into manic fury.
Attack Barred: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21

GM Dien |

Barred, by my count you've only taken six damage this fight, so you should be at 7 HP unless yo had previously unhealed damage.
As for the plinth, it has crude worn steps carved into the sides-- no climb check needed, though it's worth noting that the entangle effect carries up vertically as well, so it will be quadruple movement to climb the stairs. Essentially, if you are adjacent to the plinth, you can spend 20'/four squares of movement to get to the top of it.
Reidog's hurled chakram is impressively accurate! If somewhat gory. It completely bisects the little fairy, whose limp body flutters forty feet down to the ground like a silk handkerchief.
Unfortunately, the plants remain animated.
Kaya and Rogar still up for this round

![]() |

Kaya attempted to move forward as quickly as she could, trying to blend in with the oversized field even as she tried to slip through it.
Stealth: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Reflex: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Once she reached the plinth, she gauged the height and tried to get up the side of it, using the crude, carved steps. Kaya tries to stay out of sight as much as she can, possibly using the plinth itself as cover and staying low and close to the side opposite their foe's last known position. If she makes it up, she covers the lorestone with her cloak. If she doesn't, she throws her cloak up to cover it.

GM Dien |

Nah, it didn't get eaten; I informed you wouldn't be able to charge through the difficult terrain and said you could retcon the turn, but you never stated what you wanted to do instead.
I'm certainly willing to give you a round four double move to where he was at that point, but he wouldn't still be next to you now, because when he spring-attacked vs Barred in round 5, he was not going to return to standing directly by you... since his whole shtick is, well, moving around and not standing still and letting you guys corner him. Anyway, it won't matter with your nat 1 for the attack.
Rogar finds reason to hate these stupid plants once more as the grasses wrap around his ankles, ruining his attempted swing.
Kaya moves through the confining grasses, struggling through the binding at her feet, and gets in position to try and do something about the lorestone...! Judging from where I think you started, Kaya, you had to double move to get to the plinth (difficult terrain), so on your next round you can try and do something with the stone.
