Ahh, I see the problem. You rolled the wrong check for the Starvation mortification. Per this post it should have been a straight Con check, rather than the Fort save that you rolled.
Since I didn't catch it either (you DID mention a rumbling stomach), we'll go with NL damage.
NP Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
GM Ladile |
"What is a bus?" he asks. "I do not speak elven."
*gigglesnort*
I would've done the exact same thing as a player/character.
Hepsubia Althein |
She slowly orbits around each of you as you continue your trek back towards Heaven's Shore. "Hasn't there ever been a time where you did or said something to hurt someone else but didn't mean to? But ultimately you hurt them, whether you meant to or not. Most people can forgive if the intent was good but...sometimes, some don't. The offense was too big, hurt too much. And as the wronged party, they have the right to decide if they're willing to forgive or not."
That speaks so much to me these days...
Nicely put in wordsGM Ladile |
Thank you. I was struggling to try and come up with a reasonable explanation for why and how Heaven's authorities might take such a hard-line stance on this and that's the example that came to me. It's a lesson I had to learn the hard way many years ago.
Effie Gee |
*Hugs from over here too.*
(So many lessons for Effie in this scenario).
GM Ladile |
Hey guys!
So...we made an offer on a place Thursday and after some dickering around back and forth with offers and counter-offers, we finally came to an agreement with the seller. We signed our parts Friday/early Saturday and the seller signed his part yesterday. We still have to go get the loan stuff started at the bank (which we'll be doing later this afternoon) but for all intents and purposes...we've bought a home!
If all continues to go as planned/expected, we close on Halloween!
This means that the next couple of months are going to be much busier for me than usual. We'll continue with our current scenario here as planned, but I may need to take a bit of a break once it's wrapped up in order to focus on getting things in order for and at the new home. I'm also planning on not joining any new games as a player for a bit once my current ones (mostly Gameday games) conclude.
Truth be told, I'd been thinking of taking things easy PbP-wise during the holiday season and early part of next year anyway for other reasons but given this new development I suspect it'll now be necessary...or at least a very, very good idea.
(By 'taking easy' I mean not joining any new games and sticking to just GMing for you guys here and the League group, not putting a multi-month halt on everything altogether.)
Anyway, we're very excited and happy! Here is a picture from the front, taken last year when it was initially put on the market. I might share additional pictures later, once the current occupants have moved out :)
Maria Kuerlara |
Congratulations!!! That is a high stress thing to deal with. Just take it one step at a time and it'll be over before you blink. Good luck and no worries about any breaks.
I'm jealous, that looks like I house I would love to own. :D
Effie Gee |
Hey, everybody's moving :)
Another one of my GMs moves house very soon, and I am moving on October 14th. I may miss posting on the 14th and 15th, but wifi is already in place at our destination.
Nice place, GM LL. I like to have a bit of land with a home.
Rumble Craterkin |
Congratulations GM! :D I'm so happy for you and the other component(s) of "we"! :D
GM Ladile |
Thanks guys! There's still a lot of work left to be done but I'm glad we're off to such a good start :)
GM Ladile |
Moving day? :D
On a slightly more serious note, I will make the general offer that if any of you ever happen to be planning to pass through TN/KY let me know in advance and maybe we can meet up for a meal if you're going to be relatively close.
I'll bring Parison too, if he's free :3
And if not, I'm tentatively going to see about making PaizoCon and/or SkalCon next year.
GM Ladile |
<everything everyone is doing over in Gameplay>
Guys this is amazing, I love it XD
GM Ladile |
Still a bit of a drive, but (sorta) small world :)
So I normally wait until a teensy bit closer to the end of a scenario before I really start prepping the next one but given all my RL stuff I'd like to get a jump on prepping what I can, when I can, now. The original 'plan' is/was for us to play #9-04 The Unseen Inclusion next. But we've got several options open to us (provided PFS Tracker is up to date) and I wanted to see if anyone felt particularly strongly about any particular one:
#5-19 The Horn of Aroden
______________
There are a couple of additional scenarios in the 1-5 range (Dead Man's Debt & Signs in Senghor) but they're already on the docket to be played after whichever of the above is finished.
Effie Gee |
If my invite extends to sticking with the group, I'd love to :) But it you already have other plans, that's fine too.
I have played all of the above scenarios before but I don't mind burning one of my stock of replays. You can find me on pfstracker as supervillan, #75577
Maria Kuerlara |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Hep, do you have any replays?
Maria is good with the existing order.
GM Ladile |
Well, even though Hep's played most of those it's not as big of a deal because we - in theory - also have a lot of scenarios in the 3-7 range that can be done, once the group gets to that point.
(Which should be after we finish the next scenario after Shores of Heaven.)
So if someone doesn't have any/many replays or wishes to be sparing about what they spend a replay on, it shouldn't be as big of a deal :)
That said, it sounds like it might be easiest for me to stick to the original plan to run Unseen Inclusion...
Noted! :)
Effie Gee |
It's helpful for finding games that a whole group has yet to play. If everyone updates their tracker record then you can use the tracker to search, you can put in the pfs numbers of multiple players and get a list of unplayed scenarios.
Zithembe of the Six Paths |
I'd go for Unseen Inclusion
GM Ladile |
^What Effie said. It takes effort on the part of the individual to keep it updated but it's a great way to keep track of what you've played, whether it was Standard or Core, and what you've GMed. It's not PFS1 stuff either, you can track Starfinder and PFS2 as well - whether it's scenarios, modules, or the sanctioned content of an AP.
It's also helpful for situations like ours and the League group where I have to try and find something that everyone is capable of playing (without burning a replay) or if I'm thinking of inviting someone to a game but I want to see if they've played the particular scenario or not before I ask.
Rumble Craterkin |
Down for any of those, no strong feelings either way here!
GM Ladile |
Okay, Unseen Inclusion it is! I'll start prepping as I'm able, even though we've still got a bit to go for the current scenario :)
Zithembe of the Six Paths |
I think Oneol gives a material reward...
GM Ladile |
Sure does; thanks for the reminder! Out of time for much of an update but I'll note it over in Gameplay real quick.
GM Ladile |
Is that an eagle or an owl? ^^
Eagle, owl, they both have feathers and can fly :)
(He's an owl; not sure why my brain keeps defaulting to eagle.)
Effie Gee |
An eagle owl is a real thing :)
Zithembe of the Six Paths |
I believe woodcraft in this context means outdoorsmanship. Survival in this case.
Zithembe of the Six Paths |
Tiny creatures don't have reach beyond their own square. I.e. the boilborn have to be inside a target's square to attack (provoking an AOO to get there), and can't make an AOO against movement unless the moving person moved through the boilborn's square, and don't provide flanking unless they're in the target's square.
It doesn't change anything so far since it's two invalid attacks missed but for the future.
Zithembe of the Six Paths |
At least you're not accidentally running high tier with a low tier party like my GM did for me... ;)
GM Ladile |
Hah! I occasionally miss stuff but I don't think I've ever missed anything quite that big. Though I have been guilty once or twice of forgetting to apply a 4-player adjustment and have had to have baddies suddenly decide they had better things to be doing and bug out mid-combat :)
In keeping with an off-line conversation I had just the other day, sometimes it's a bummer to have mistakes pointed out (because I'm only human and it's a bummer to know that you've screwed something up) but please keep doing so! I won't get better as a GM if I'm not pushed from time to time.
GM Ladile |
Since it's already been posted I'll leave it but for future reference you actually need to be able to cast Detect Magic *in addition* to rolling a Spellcraft check in order to determine the properties of a magical item.
Admittedly I'm so used to it always *just* being casters who attempt Spellcraft checks that I don't include the Detect Magic note but I'll be sure to do so in the future :)
Maria Kuerlara |
They can prepare Identify as an elixir, does the same effect as detect magic with a +10 to the roll.
Hepsubia Althein |
Yeah but.. seems a little bit Strange… Why would you try to identify Something you have no clue is magic?
In my mind, you have to know Something is magic via Detect magic to try to identify it...
Maria Kuerlara |
Appraise actually allows a mundane way to know if something is magical or not, but it is a very high roll. Frankly, it's probably the only actual decent use for that skill.
Honestly I completely agree with you that a ton of stuff in pathfinder is a bit 'odd' when it comes to making logical sense. :P
Zithembe of the Six Paths |
Bob the Mage already dectected it as magic and failed his roll.
...not to mention Spellcraft is used for a whole lot more than item identification: ID a spell as it is being cast, scribe a scroll into your alchemist manual, copy a formula from another alchemist manual, and crafting magic items.
Effie Gee |
Discerning Wayfinder is a thing ;)
Parison Drakemoor |
Guys, I'm not going to be available to post from Thursday, Oct. 17-Sunday October 20th. I'll be out of town for Asheville Scarefest. Not sure what the internet situation will be, if any, but I'm probably not going to have time to post regardless, since my schedule will be pretty full.
Effie Gee |
@ F.I.G: So your Belgian now, Effe gee?
I'm British, my wife is Belgian (Flemish). Our baby girl has dual nationality. But yeah, we just moved to Belgium from the UK. It's partly to escape the catastrof+%@ that is brexit, partly so my wife can be closer to her family (she's been ill for a while, it's a chance to convalesce), and partly so we can both get support from my wife's family in caring for the little one, who has some additional health needs herself.
Initially we're just treating it as a long break. I'm on sabbatical from work and am the main carer for baby, who is now almost 11 months old :)
