Isn't it minus one to about everything and minus five HP, Had a tiefling that kept getting negative levels in RoW...
So 5,450 gp. - 2,098 gp. (Brallenera's cash) = 3,352 gp. divided in half is 1,676 gp. each for Carr and Ting? double check my math, If that's right I will subtract it from Tings total.
| GM Chyro |
Correct on both accounts.
But the substracting will be done on the chronicle, so no need to do so from your starting cash.

Hey Chyro, I got a question on PFS:
Can you play the same adventure (and be rewarded for it) with two different characters? I have done twice "the Overflow archives" over the last few months, with two different L1 characters.
Does the second one get rewarded (GP, XP, PP) or not?
What happens if you play the same adventures at different tiers, with different characters?
| ScorchedOne |
I will put on my GM hat to answer your question:
You can play the same adventure twice, but in order to be rewarded for it two different times you must have access to an option which allows it. The most common are: "GM Replays", GMs get access to replays to thank them for their service to the community.
"Survey Boon", the survey boon that our new player linked comes with up to two free replays.
Less common versions exist, such as my Tier 1+ GenCon boon, which gives me a pool of replayable scenarios I can share, but otherwise while you can replay a scenario, it's once for credit as a GM, once in standard, and once in core. Regardless of tier. (Not counting evergreen 1-2 scenarios/modules or the Tome of Righteous Repose, the evergreen 3-7.)
Brallenera Thalkham

so, if I play it a second time with another character, I shouldn't get the money, XP, or PP?
That will put a mess in my PFS characters, probably...
@Chyro: Awww, could I have a list of the adventures we've made so far , please?

Dayjob Brallenera, Craft tailoring: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Edit:
I don't know how i came to that low amount, but you get more than the pitiful 586.
Your reward after the decemvirate takes their cut, is 1516
| GM Chyro |
Game reported and chronicles sent.
Brallenera, this is what the penalties include.
For each negative level a creature has, it takes a cumulative –1 penalty on all ability checks, attack rolls, combat maneuver checks, Combat Maneuver Defense, saving throws, and skill checks. In addition, the creature reduces its current and total hit points by 5 for each negative level it possesses. The creature is also treated as one level lower for the purpose of level-dependent variables (such as spellcasting) for each negative level possessed.
| GM Chyro |
Earlier on, Carr offered to donate 2450 gp, and leaving the final 902 gp to Ting.
I sent accidentally you guys the chronicles accordingly, but i'll resend those of Carr and Ting, since the cost could be split evenly, as Ting suggested.
At least, i assume Carr would like to have more of his gp available ;)
Carr
|
I'm fine with spending 2k as I said, or splitting evenly. Whatever works. Carr doesn't need much yet.
Yeah, take my 2450, which is I think what you did, 2k from Brall, and 1k from Ting, and let's call that a day. If Ting's amenable.
| GM Chyro |
Very well.
In the meantime, next up is Assault on the Kingdom of the Impossible.
Edit: Which, after a quick read, has pathetic enemies.
I don't understand why the writer thinks them a challenge for a well equipped lvl 5 party. ^^

I have ting leveled up, need to look at buying a couple of consumables, but that should be done today.
A question about skills. Ting has the glide alternate race trait, but 'fly' isn't one of the slayers class skills. Would this 'race trait' allow him to use fly as trained so he gets the extra +3 to the skill?
Glide: use his feathered arms and legs to glide. can make a DC 15 Fly check to fall safely from any height without taking falling damage, as if using feather fall. When falling safely, may make an additional DC 15 Fly check to glide, moving 5 feet laterally for every 20 feet he falls.
| GM Chyro |
An interesting question, but i suspect not, if it is not mentioned working that way.
However, fly checks can be made untrained, so it isn´t useless.

I gave him one skill point in it, plus the 4 for dex it gives him +5 so if he 'takes 10' he can glide. I don't know how that would work in situations like combat or falling it a trap, but it's worth a try.
Also, I'm looking for where I purchases a second wand, but having difficulty finding it, so I may need to spend PP's on a wand. I'll keep looking.
| GM Chyro |
If you're in a situation caught unaware, then you'd roll for it.
If it would be similar to acrobatics, whereby you'd do it on purpose without immediate danger, then i imagine it could be done.

The image of deliberate jump, and being plucked (had to make that pun) out of the sky by a monster, comes to mind. :)
Ting Tang

I hate to admit it, I've given up trying to figure out the wand situation. I know Ting has purchased one wand and that he gave it to Joseph to use. But I have no idea how many charges it has left.
If anyone was keeping track please let me know!
So instead of trying to go back and recount can Ting spend two PP and get another CLW wand?
Ting Tang
|
Ok for level five ting’s base attack is now 5, added ‘Toughness’ as his feat, added a second studied target as his class trait and +1 to skills: Disable device, perception, acrobatics and fly.
Along with the clw wand Ting will spend 2,000 gp upgrading his sword to +1, 375 gp. to purchase a Scroll of Water Breathing, 750 gp. To purchase a Potions of Gaseous Form, 100 gp. For 2 clw potions. Spending 3,225 gp which will leave him at 93 gp.
Brallenera Thalkham

So for level 5
HP + 13 (7 Barb+4 CON+1 FC+1 toughness) (70/70) (65/65 with negative level)
Bab+1
No change in saves
2 rounds of RAGE!
skills (+4)
Intimidate +1
Perception +1
Linguistics+1
know planes+1
Feat
Power attack
Bought a CMW potion from the Chronicle
| GM Chyro |
Sure thing.
Waiting for the ready from Brallenera and Carr.
| GM Chyro |
Then i need not send a new chronicle, you approved of using 2450.
Or is something missing?
Carr
|
Ah, that'll work. Yeah, I'll be ready to go shortly. Picking up a level in Barbarian (Armored Hulk), to take after my idol and hopefully trainer in the ways of anger, Brallenera. Also to build towards the eventual intent of Rage Prophet. (Rawr, I'm angry.)
Crunch:
BAB +1
Heavy Armor Proficiency, Rage, Skills
HP +9
+2 Fort

@ Mylvwara:
#1: "Niswan? We know of it, but we haven't been there yet.
How so, is something particularly special about it?"A question of importance. Where do you keep the scepter for the night? Remember what the VC wanted to happen to it.
hey, in game you asked about "something particularly special about it?" Are you talking about Niswan or the 'artifact'?
Do the 'cloth merchants' need to know where the 'artifact' is? Tings got it in his pack, I was thinking he would "Accidentally" pull it out while he was putting the carrots and cheese away. And then try and 'bluff' that it's not the 'artifact in question'
On a separate but related question, can a character fail a bluff check on purpose?
Or could he just take 10 which would be 8 and he would fail automatically.
| GM Chyro |
What the merchant is asking, is what is special about that city.
Afaik, you haven't shown the scepter to them, heck, they're cloth merchants, how would they ask for something they haven't seen?
:)
I don't know about failing deliberately at bluff. You could not roll it, aka 'talking bull', and they'd notice something is off.
I've not played social rolls as take 10 before, i'd prefer to keep it that way.
Ting Tang
|
ok, so I don't need to accidently show anyone the scepter yet. We were talking about it, so I just wanted to make sure.
And no take 10 on social rolls. got it. Just my luck I would intend to fail a bluff roll and get a natural 20 ;)
Ting Tang
|
Apparently our conversation in game has stagnated, I will wait a while to see if anyone is going to answer the questions.
Then Ting will pull the scepter out when he reorganizes his pack so everyone knows where it is, and then he will recommend someone take watch. Yeah, not ever sleeping anywhere in game without a watch again!
I'll wait till someone posts or ten or eleven hours, (around 1 PM UTC/GMT,) for my next post
GM Chyro, if you think I should wait longer, let me know!
| GM Chyro |
In any case, the scepter needs to be someplace where it could be found by....foreseen individuals.
*Wink wink*
Ting Tang
|
interesting twist!
It's like a shell game, which ones are the real bandits? Don't answer, I don't want to spoil the surprise.
Ok, my thought process is: whoever is supposed to take it from us will have overpowering force, since they defeated pathfinders before.
So tings going to put up a fight until it looks like it's starting to go bad and they offer surrender. Or until they grab the scepter and start to run off through the woods with it. In which case he will give chase, hoping to thin their ranks.
If anyone thinks he should do something different please let me know.
| GM Chyro |
Who is a joke, tbh. :)
His tactics
*Reads them earlier on*
Shao Khan says: YOU, ARE PATHETIC! :D
Ting Tang
|
GM Chyro, ting talked but didn't take an action. He would rather not kill anyone in cold blood. But options here are thin.
Can he grab the scepter from yellow? Or what would an attack roll look like trying to grab the scepter.
I'm thinking if ting can grab the scepter he will tell yellow to run. Neither ideas of trying to keep a prisoner, or killing a prisoner seems good to Ting.
Ting Tang
|
Do we have any darkvision advantage?
Ting doesn't have darkvision, just low-light vision, that's why he uses the ioun torch. That and cause he likes the little rotary-thing going around his head...
