1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Lol, i gave that a no-go in my homebrew under 'Varisia isn't Japan'.
That aside, it's in Ultimate equipment, which notes items in chapter 1 (which includes Kikko) are PFS legal.
So lets assume you happened to stumble upon the sole merchant in Absalom dealing in eastern merchandise, with just the latest shipment.
Of course he wants a favor.
He wants....a shrubbery!
And help in his origami class.
I mean, come on, there's special shops nowadays irl that sell asian import items. Why not here?

GM Chyro |

I want to go to Japan on a holiday.......sigh.
I've been to China and Japan was next on my list of Asian countries i want to have visited.

![]() |

I too would love to visit Japan and China. My parents spent 3 years in SW China in the late 1940s as part of a medical mission. So I've heard a lot about it and studied Asian religions and culture with great interest. But traveling the world hasn't been in the cards for me so far. I was in England and Scotland about 25 years ago for a tour. The world is a fascinating place. I guess traveling across Golorian is as close as I'll get for now.
I understand about the day job. Thought they might advance me my first month's pay. Toorin will seek out whatever Elven have a presence in whatever cities he visits to learn about their efforts to become part of the international conversation and gain influence for Elves.
Thanks for the prestige list. I was planning on looking that up since I have some 3rd/4th levels who are getting a significant reserve. I favorite the list for reference.
What is the process of spending prestige for one of these benefits? Does it have to be between sessions? If so I assume the purchase of an item that does the same thing would be necessary to avail oneself of the benefit during a game.

GM Chyro |

I think they can be used during a session, following the descriptions.
Like that 5 PP for having a rescue team recover your body from
[Location X]

![]() |

I finally looked up the information in the PFS Guide. One cannot spend PP in combat but otherwise it can be accomplished anywhere one can find representatives of one's own faction. This is assumed to be available in any large city. That's the point of the extra cost if not in a large city.

GM Chyro |

I love this post-mission RP, awesome guys. ;)

Here's my shopping list:
Cold Iron Msw Dwarf axe 360 (selling my regular Dwarf axe for 15 GP)
2 potions of CLw (50 gp each) 100
Starting money 125 GP
Mission money +457
Shopping -460
Selling +15
Money left 137

GM Chyro |

I don't know yet to what degree you'll be seeing beast-men.
We'll see.

GM Chyro |

To my understanding, copying spells is from either the materials found in the adventure (scrolls and the like), between players and permission from NPC spell casters.
Can I scribe spells from another PC's spellbook into my own? What about gaining spells via scrolls found during an adventure?
Players are welcome to exchange spells with each other during an adventure. They must still follow all the normal rules as put forth in the Core Rulebook and their class descriptions (for instance, an alchemist can scribe from a wizard, but not vice-versa) and they must not bog the session down.
Similarly, scrolls found during an adventure can be used to add spells to spellbooks and similar class features (such as a witch's familiar), using the normal rules for doing so. Scrolls used in this way during an adventure do not need to be purchased, but are still consumed as normal.
With either method, the GM should sign off on the spells gained (after witnessing successful skill checks) on affected players' chronicle sheets. All other methods of gaining new spells (such as by gaining a level or purchasing access to an NPC's spellbook) function as described in the Core Rulebook and relevant class descriptions.
In the rare instance of a wizard charging a fee for the privilege of copying spells from their spellbooks, this fee is equal to half the cost to write the spell into a spellbook (see Writing a New Spell into a Spellbook). Rare and unique spells do not change the fee in PFS.
It'd be a tad bit odd if you could buy every lvl X spell as long as you have the money to add it in downtime. That'd put you on an advantage (on variety) over other casters. It might be better to take those writing materials on you and get those spells during the adventures from scrolls and casters, opposed to downtime.

GM Chyro |

I hope you're all ready to go Resident Evil on your next mission ;)
Stock up on your preparations.

![]() |
GM Chyro, I redid Ala'Ihys gear and bought a few items. If I remember correctly in PFS at first level we sell back items at full cost correct? If not I will need to redo this, thanks!
Ummm. did you just say we were going to 'Raccoon City'? Is that in the Land of the Mammoth Lords? All I can picture is Conan on a raccoon the size of an elephant.

![]() |

Okay. Toorin will invest in writing materials worth 100 gp to cover any opportunities to copy spells during the adventure.
Since we're somewhat light on healing, he will get 7 potions of cure light wounds. That will do it for Toorin, I hope.

GM Chyro |

@Ala'Ihys: erm....dunno, who's Conan? ^^
Afaik, that pops to mind as well. I'll look back on it.
Edit: I didn't find it quickly, but here it's referred to.
@ Toorin: Well surely 'someone' looking at Kravg for his mention earlier will have purchased a wand of clw.

![]() |

Aye, indeed I'm gonna buy a wand of CLW for 2 Prestige Points.
Also made my kusarigama both ends mwrk, and buying another flask of acid and alchemist's fire.
Selling my old one for 6 gp, though I have a question, I've made one end mwrk, do I have to sell the whole weapon to make both ends mwrk?
80gp left
+507gp mission
=587 gp total
-30 gp for flasks
-300gp? for mwrk ball end
+6 gp for sale value?
Else
-30 gp for flasks
-612 gp for mwrk kusarigama, both ends
+156 gp for sale value old weapon

Given the need to have appropriate clothing for the opera and if someone has a CLW wand, Toorin will purchase 2 fewer CLW potions and purchase a courtier's outfit (30 gp) plus jewelry to match (50 gp).
He will go to an Elven tailor to get something tasteful and stylish according to elven standards.
Something like Elven Evening Wear

GM Chyro |

Speaking of resident evil......in my homebrew i just dropped a minor Tyrant on the party :)
Claws, natural armor, bloodthirst.
<-----Was kind of nervous playing RE2 back in the day :P

GM Chyro |

What if they port it to the Oculus Rift?
To those unfamiliar, it's a full 3d VR device you strap onto your head.

GM Chyro |

Oh gods no, it's Raccoon City all over again!
....and i'm even going to run it at a higher tier for another group :) in the future.

GM Chyro |

Ala'Ihys, sure, they probably had sunflowers in Raccoon City, prior to the Z-apocalypse.

![]() |

A colleague of mine has a sign on his desk that says, "The hardest thing about the zombie apocalypse will be pretending I'm not excited."
I'm running a modern day character in a Savage Worlds monster hunting campaign who probably bears some unintentional resemblance to Alice, wielding a katana and wakizashi, as well as guns.

![]() |

Heh Zombie Land ^^ Great movie.
Probably from a different movie, but one of my favorite quotes.
'I don't have to outrun the zombies, I just have to outrun you.'

![]() |

I enjoyed the first RE movie, the others...*bleh*
There's a really good zombie survival-themed game set in Golarion on the forum, check this thread

GM Chyro |

It sucks to be a noble this night, they're the main course.

![]() |

If my post seems oddly out of place, I apparently checked for updates just before the post with the start of the zombie attack, so I was commenting on things done before that point. While I was working on my post, apparently the next two posts came in and after I posted I did not notice the new posts. At any rate, Toorin will do his part once his turn comes around. First he'll have to get his mage armor up.

GM Chyro |

No sweat,
Btw does anyone know what timezone Joseph's in?
If he's saying 'tonight', it could be middle of the night for me ^^.
Come to think of it, to rather resemble the situation, i'd need to put some more zombies on the map.
Don't worry though.

GM Chyro |

Resident Evil wouldn't be Resident Evil if there wasn't an abundance of zombies. ;) Trust me, you won't have to worry about them, unless you feel 'spirited' to dive head in into a group of zombies.
Which is ill advised, then you do honor your wife's words.
However...
The pdf mentions that you can take in your gear.
Whatever's plausible to have on you when you're seated. I reckon a sword or bow to be held between the legs and such, is what i can imagine.

GM Chyro |

They should give you more time off for working extra :)

GM Chyro |

I am wondering why they think a lvl 1 party (since 1-2 can vary of composition) should fight 4 16hp undead. I mean, sure they're 1 action only. But if they land a hit it's hard.
Encounters in other scenarios are easy, enemy HP wise & dmg wise.
At least Kravg has his healing wand, and for the 1st time i'm happy he can trip.

![]() |

Yeah, but we need a spellcaster alive who can use him, AlaÍhys needs to be alive for that.
Also shame with those rolls no hits or trips possible.
