Summoned Sidekick |

As Fran's spell completes, an eagle shimmers into existence in the air behind the Cyan Hound. With a loud, "Screeee!" it attempts to tear into the hellish canine!

Sidekick here will last for one more round and he's got his own token on the map :)

Fran cheers as her summoned eagle seems to manage to draw a little blood from the Cyan hound and then steps forward to try and follow it up with a poke from her longspear!
Attack vs. Cyan (Longspear): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6

Meanwhile, Mr. Sunshine bounces and skitters his way back to the open doors - just enough to see at least part of the battle but far enough away to hopefully not draw the ire of the hellhounds.
"Maoooow!"
Show those ugly mutts who's boss!

No smite?

GM Bret |

An eagle appears and rips into the rear of blue dog.
Finished with her summons, Fran attempts to use her spear. The summon worked better.
A door in the parlor flies open and another black robe comes out. With a quick look, he then runs across the room yelling “Don’t worry, I’ll go fetch reinforcements!”
All the dogs recover from being dazed. The one in the corner quits trying to hide under the bed.
1d4 ⇒ 1 It is done, Guess you got a little extra.
Egarthis swings again, this time landing two solid hits on the Swashbuckler! “Hurry![/b]” he shouts in response to the other black robe’s promise of reinforcements.

Summoned Sidekick |

Whoops, didn't read the description on Summon Monster close enough - I thought you had to have a feat to apply a Celestial/Fiendish template. Oh well, I'll take the smite on the second round.
Suddenly remembering just how awesome he really is, Fran's eagle calls on a heavenly power to smite the hellhound in front of him before ripping into the creature yet again!

She finds herself extremely confused by Ray's insistence on trying to stick to some sort of cover story at this point, but moves to try and block one of the doors just the same.

Bestiary pg. 294, adds Cha bonus to attack rolls and damage bonus equal to HD against evil foes. Eagles do not have a Charisma bonus, so no bonus to hit.
Again the summoned eagle manages to claw the blue dog one last time before it pops out of existence.

Lol, no worries. That's the first time I've used burning infusion on him, I think. The other two times I've had to move or move action or something. (Can't gather power with a wand in your hand, for example.)
I just knew it might come up, so I thought I'd get out ahead of it.
Edit: There was one, but you saved.

His servants will not be able to remain forever - cut the head off of this serpent!
Vlazis continues to overpower the hellhounds and hopefully the Razmirans with the will of the First King.
Channel Negative , omitting Shayna Thomas, and Krik, the rest of the party should be out of range. DC 18 Will save or dazed for a round. Either way they'll take Half Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Vlazis releases another wave of energy. This time only the Blue Dog is dazed.

He only knows that he's seen summons before. (Fran just did it, for one.) They don't stay around forever!

![]() |

"Just hang on! Reinforcements will be here shortly!" It's not a lie, per se...
Ramon murmurs something sibilant to themselves after shifting their morningstar to their 'off' hand. So they can cast...
Cure Light Wounds(on Ramon): 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
They will then work at shifting the weapon back to their 'main' hand.
It'd be a full-round action to retrieve an item, a free action to drop it, a standard to holster it/secure it. Cool with whatever action cost it is going to take to NOT lose the weapon while casting Cure Light Wounds on self

GM Bret |

I’m not sure how you do that.
Shield, Heavy; Wooden or Steel: You strap a shield to your forearm and grip it with your hand. A heavy shield is so heavy that you can't use your shield hand for anything else.
Maybe If you stow the shield (so it is no longer effective), shift weapon, cast, shift weapon? Use a move action next round to get use of shield back? That is about all I can think of.
Problems like this is why my casters avoid heavy shields.

![]() |

Ramon lets the morningstar go, cursing inwardly having forgotten to affix the weapon cord to it, making a half-fist with the heel of the palm exposed after casting their spell.

Thomas hopes Fran can heal him a bit. If she can, he waits for that, and then climbs the dias, to move around to provide flank for Ramon, taking total defense.
Edit:
Otherwise he'll move over onto the dias, and use his bow to shoot at the hellhound.

Fran nearly jumps out of her skin as Thomas' voice suddenly whispers in her ear and she fails to stop the man Rennec as he cartwheels past and out the door behind her.
"Um, sure, sure, hold on a moment..." Fran stammers, producing a wand and then poking at the air where Thomas' voice seems to be coming from.
Cure Light Wounds (Thomas): 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
She then moves away from the door and towards the rest of the fighting, aware that she might be to employ her wand again very soon...
_______
If Thomas doesn't have a wand, Fran does (37 charges left). If she's using her own wand, Fran has it in a spring-loaded wrist sheath so she can access it quickly, use it, and still move to her current map position.
