Dashuun |

Stabilize DC 10: 1d20 + 1 - 11 ⇒ (6) + 1 - 11 = -4
Dashuun succumbs to his final fate, the last ounce of life slipping from his body and clouding the waters. Maze barks viciously from atop the cliff, as though he knows what has happened. He whines and paws at the edge of the cliff.
I was thinking of having Maze dive off. More interesting than running away into the woods, right?

Elena Lovain |

Elena sees Dashuun vanish under the water and not reappear. She moves to the edge of the cliff and ties off the rope, not knowing exactly what she could do down there, but she had to try something,

GM Bold Strider |

Broon tries to swim away from the bunyip as it is in its frenzy.
Swim: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 - 2 = 17
He flees from the frenzied seal-shark as it decides to feast on its meal. It drags the corpse of Dashuun under the water and you see a trail of bloody water head towards the cove under the briar patch.
Status:
Glaucus (Goblin Stronghold); Broon @ 10/20 HP (Beach); Elena (Briar Patch); Shalelu (Briar Patch)
Enemies:
Goblins (4); Goblin Dogs (4; 1 Charmed)

Broon |

Well that was nuts.
"NNNNnnnoooooOOO!!! Broon cries out after Dashuun and his faithful hound - having made a second rate monk, but first rate main course for a sea creature that usually does tricks for herring. For a moment he considers diving in for desert's sake, but then thinks the better and scans for a way back to the others.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Elena Lovain |

"Broon, can you make your way over to this rope? We might be able to get you up that way! It seems too late for Dashuun...". Elena shakes the rope, hoping it can reach down far enough for him to climb to.

Glaucus Circe |

Glaucus is unaware of the events below, focused on the immediate threat before him. He tries to goad the goblins into action, taking out an alchemist's fire and lobbing at the orange goblin in the middle.
ranged touch: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

Elena Lovain |

"Glaucus, there's too many of them! Come back to us! Or at least use the bridge and duck into the water. We will pull you up on this side with my rope!"

The rope is 30' from the beach.

GM Bold Strider |

It was an 80' fall. Unless you have a way to get 30' up, then you have to climb the 30' to the rope on the rocky cliff.
Broon climbs up the rocky cliff to try and reach the rope, but the sea-misted cliff face is steep and rocky. He ascends 20' and is almost within reach of the rope (10' more), but he thinks that he would need another miracle to climb the last 10' and not fall.
DC 20 Climb check to make it to the rope.
Elena and Shalelu ready to be able pull up Broon once he reaches the rope.
DC 10 Strength check to lift him 10' as a Move Action.

Broon |

Broon makes his way over to the rope and begins the climb.
climb: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 - 2 = 20
Looks like the first roll takes care of 5'. DC20, An uneven surface with narrow handholds and footholds, such as a typical wall in a dungeon. Was thinking of Tanglevine but it is only 15' reach, Broon will have to climb another 10' before attempting. Possible to Take20 through the next 10'?

GM Bold Strider |

1/4th of 30 is 7.5. Rounded is 10'. And you can move twice in a round, so 20'. Right? If anything, I'd give ya 15' since 7.5x2=15
Glaucus takes a swing at a goblin, but misses, however he is able to headbutt the same creature in the face, staggering him.

Elena Lovain |

Elena takes no action, waiting until Broon grabs onto her rope, so she could try and pull her friend up to safety. "Be careful, Glaucus, don't let them swarm you," she groans not looking up from Broon's climb to safety.

GM Bold Strider |

Interesting. Swim gives you the option to double move or single move with one check, but Climb requires a check per move action. Also, if you double climb, I'd give you the option of combining the 1/4 speed into half speed, so you don't get boned on movement when you already move so slowly.
Feel free to spend two rounds to take 20 or expend two charges of Tanglevine to extend the reach to length between you and the rope.

GM Bold Strider |

Broon latches onto the rope with his Tanglevine as Shalelu and Elena try to pull him up the 70'.

Shalelu and Elena try at first, but their actions aren't conhesive. They look at each other and nod before giving a big pull, lifting the dwarf 20' up the mountainside.
More Str. checks to lift Elena and you can use Climb checks Broon, however you run the risk of falling if you fail by more than 5. DC 10 to climb with the slicked wall and the rope.

Elena and Broon hoist the stout dwarf over the edge of the cliff. As Broon lays there, Shalelu picks up her bow from the ground and fires off a single shot at the green-skinned goblin.

Actually, these goblins want prisoners, so the goblin would see you drop then call his goblin dog off.
As Glaucus feels the bite of the dogslicer and the blood rushing out of his body, he feints.
The goblin yells at the dogs as the first bites impotently. "No! HE for big boss lady! NO BITE!" yells the green bastard.
You would have stabilized with that roll.

Elena begins casting her Sleep spell at either of the goblins (both if possible). She knows if she could put them to sleep, the confused dogs might freeze.
DC 15 Will to resist.

GM Bold Strider |

Broon is correct! You are never safe!
Shalelu takes aim at the remaining goblin and fires off two arrows at the green-skinned monster, but his homemade armor seems to deflect the shots.

The goblin sneers at the group across the gap. Sticking out his tongue before pulling the unconscious body of the woodsman into the fort. The two goblin dogs follow him.

On the tenth day, you see a goblin drag the body of a woodsman into the cell with you. "He your friend now! You both go to Boss Lady!" The goblin throws him against the wall and shackles his hands and feet, just like yours.

Elena Lovain |

"I'm fine, Broon. My arms will be sore tomorrow, but I'm great compared to Dashuun and Glaucus. how are we going to get him out of there? If we don't do it quickly, they'll have him flayed for sure. But they know we are here and are coming, so it'll be almost impossible to fight our way in there. Ideas?"

Elena Lovain |

"DOes anyone have an idea how to cross what is left of that bridge?"

Elena Lovain |

Elena waits for one of the braver sort to tackle the bridge first. "I need to watch one of you to see if I can manage to make it across."
