"What was all that?" Dashuun queries as Glaucus uses magic to make the cat run off. "Let's move in."

"Imdont see any reason to be stealthy! When they see that cat, they will know something is up, so let's hurry!"

”At least it didn't come at us”, Broon a bit thankful, ”-though its probably letting someone know we are here”.

"Agreed. We should hurry, they know we're coming now. I was hoping my magic would make it friendly and avoid that but alas! That thing's mind was a fortress!"

Broon continues to follow Glaucus's lead, ready with a poised polearm.

The group rushes to follow the cougar and stumble into a cavern in the briar. A tangle of vines hang from the thorny ceiling of this chamber, each suspending a clattering collection of bird skulls, rib bones, teeth, and other bits of gruesome decor. In a few places the vines droop all the way to the floor. A large nest of nettles and thorny vines sits to the south, a halo of half-eaten dead birds and rats indicating that whatever sleeps there eats in its bed.

A blast of flame slams into the briar wall near Glaucus as they approach the room. "Come to tangle with Gogmurt, humans?! I shall cremate you and send your ashes to Yipyip!"

Gogmurt casts Entangle on the group before Tangletooth jumps in front of his master to defend him. The briar come out of the walls and begin to envelop the party.

Broon of the Verdant Bloodline gets impossibly trapped in the vines. He quickly casts a spell upon his bow.

Dashuun manifests his halo and commands Maze to attack.

I'm not sure if manifesting my halo requires an action (such as by using the associated light SLA) or not, but I'm going for an intimidate check. If it takes a standard action to activate, I'll just save the check for next round.

Maze rushes forward through the thick undergrowth and attacks the cat, as is his nature.

Having map issues, DM, but if I can see either opponent, I will Magic Missile them.

Casting spells while entangled requires concentration checks.

Elena blasts the goblin with a Magic Missile as Maze tries to bite the cat, however the feline is too quick for the hound and dodges easily.

You have to cast Light which is a standard action, Dashuun. Also, need a concentration check since you are entangled if that is what you are doing.

Tangletooth strikes back at Maze with his teeth, forcing him to the ground, before leaping back to be by his master's side.

Gogmurt laughs as Glaucus catches on fire and he sears off one of the woodsman's eyebrows. "You look stupid! Now it match rest of you!"

Also, if you remain in the entangle effect, you have to roll Reflex DC 15 again or become entangled once more. Thus Broon and Elena have to roll against Entangle once more.

Glaucus has one more attempt to break free, but would have to roll again for staying in the Entangle.

Shalelu comes out of the briar and incants a few words before touching her hand to the Entangle. The plants ease their grip a bit. "Quick, you only have seconds before the spell will resume!" she yells.

Entangle is current suppressed for one round. Anyone in the effect on Shalelu's next turn will automatically be re-entangled if you are currently entangled.

Tangletooth growls at Maze and lashes out from the ground at the wolf.

Glaucus shouts, "Owe you one, Shalelu!" as he rushes forward to kick the goblin in the face.

Elena follows close behind Glaucus, keeping him between she and the enemies. Once she exited the range of the spell, she began casting a Sleep spell.

Dashuun moves out of the vines and towards the goblin. "That dog is mine!"

@Elena: As a spellcaster, you would know that Sleep is a bad spell to use in tight quarters with a stronger enemy. No matter where you place the spell (from what I'm seeing), you will hit a party member. Since you see through the briar walls, you can't place the spell in any location that would be beneficial.

Also, when I roll 15+ and you guys roll <5, it makes it really hard not to TPK. :D

Another awesome round of untangling himself of appendages.

Dashuun, Broon and Glaucus flail around to no avail as Elena moves out of the Entangle and slams the goblin with a magic missile.

Shalelu is bewildered that Broon stays in the Entangle as she draws her bow and fires an arrow at the goblin.

Damage: 1d8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 2 = 7

The goblin's armor clangs as the arrow bounces off of him and he starts laughing uncontrollably. "LONGSHANKS TERRIBLE FIGHTERS! BWAHAHAHA! YOU SO BAD!"

The goblin steps back and waves his hand, a flaming scimitar appearing before him that he grasps in his hand. Tangletooth stands up, drawing attacks from Glaucus and Dashuun before biting at the the latter, but his teeth miss ever so slightly.

Glaucus punches Tangletooth as he stands before moving forward and trying to jab-hook the goblin, but he only manages to land his first punch.

Maze stops bleeding on the floor of the warren.

@Dashuun: I adjusted the characters to better fit the squares. You would have to go to the other side. Next round, Glaucus can move into the thorns at no penalty to give you room if everything stays the same.

@Elena: Factored that into Glaucus' attack (not AoO).
