Naxx |
Naxx continues running till he's save outside the area that scares him
Gaarm |
Gaarm's fear continues to compel him. He flees in absolute terror. So much power! So much evil in this house. His body shakes uncontrollably.
GM Bold Strider |
The stoic Pathfinders stand strong and ready to attack when the creature becomes visible, but it is not the will of the poltergeist!
The creature levitates a spoon, knife and fork from the floor and flings them at the last two Pathfinders.
Fork @ Phyton: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Spoon @ Sir Thomas: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Knife @ Sir Thomas: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
The fork sticks into Phyton's arm and the knife slides between Sir Thomas' armor, cutting him.
Damage @ Phyton: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Damage @ ST: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Death by a thousand cuts and a thousand rounds!

Sir Tom channels to hurt undead.
Channel DC 15: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 3) = 9
That's quite enough
GM Bold Strider |
Phyton has no idea what this creature is, but he is trying his best to destroy it!
Shouldn't your Channel Energy be 2d6? You should be third level.
Will Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
The creature easily overcomes Phyton's weaker channel as it launches off another bevvy of sharp and dull implements. This time pieces of a broken chair come flying at the party.
Chair Leg - Sharpened: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Chair Seat: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Chair Backing: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Sir Thomas catches the blunt of the seat across his face as it might have chipped a tooth.

Sir Thomas releases even more positive energy. I must have hurt him, he seems angry.

Gaarm |
regaining his composure Gaarm begins to rush back towards the room as quick as he can.
Double Move- Since the Fear more than likely had me running as far away as possible each time.
Naxx |
Not sure how long I'm frightened..so either continue moving till I feel save and cower in a corner..or return to outside the room from where I ran away from
Gaarm |
Ah ok
Gaarm moves in towards the poltergeist as his fear is now subsided. With a gulp he regains his bearings and swings his longsword wide at the undead abomination.
+1 Longsword (Angrist): 1d20 + 9 - 1 ⇒ (2) + 9 - 1 = 10

Gaarm |
Ah ok. I was going off of the token on the map. In that case I will step back into the center of the room and look around defensively. Sorry for the confusion
Naxx |
"Is it still in there? I'm not going in there if it's still there! What ever it is scared me!"
Sir Thomas the Benevolent |
It may still be here, we shall see.
GM Bold Strider |
2d20 ⇒ (19, 18) = 37
The waves of pure energy wash across the room, but it doesn't seem to be enough to destroy the creature as more objects fly around and smack the party.
3d20 ⇒ (15, 8, 4) = 27
Objects whirl around the room as the metal lining of a table is wrenched free from the wood and smacks Sir Thomas.

Naxx |
"Maybe just leave the area and see if it calms down?"
GM Bold Strider |
After a few more bursts of positive energy, everything drops to the floor with a clang-thud. A search of this cluttered room reveals a number of valuable objects—a pair of fully stocked healer’s kits, 3 vials of antitoxin, 2 vials of antiplague, 3 doses of bloodblock, 3 doses of smelling salts, 2 vials of soothe syrup, and 4 potions of cure light wounds.
Gaarm |
Gaarm sets his shield down. Anyone tell me what the hell kind of freak show that was?
He begins to search the room setting out the only useful items found.
The large man grabs a potion of CLW and places it in his sack.
I am sure we will need these if we continue in this place.
Naxx |
Naxx shrugs
"I have no idea, one more of those dammed ghosts that haunt this place."
Naxx makes sure everything that was found is brought along before getting ready to follow after Gaarm
Nizvit the Kobold |
Protected a bit better than before, he nods
"Yez. Letz go. Thiz plaze iz getting on my nervze"

Gathering up the remaining gear Gaarm opens the northern door.
Yes Nizvit, hopefully Sir Thomas can cleanse this place after we clear it.
Sir Thomas the Benevolent |
Nor can I, if we continue we do so at greater risk. I have healing remaining but not of that potence.
Gaarm |
If you need to rest we can head back to the house.
Sir Thomas the Benevolent |
Back to the manor seems like a plan. we can re attack in the morning.
Gaarm |
If you mean when we go back to the prison the Gaarm is good to start at the upstairs door he is by on the map. Continue where we left off. The door north of the Poltergeist's room.
Sounds good. Gaarm says as he claps Sir Thomas on the back. In the morning lets continue back where we left off. I feel we are near our goal.
Nizvit the Kobold |
"Nizvit agreez. Bezt we come back refrezhed... and not zo almozt dead"
He nods at the suggestions. He didnt want to die here... it would be bad

The group returns to the manor to find a note from their beloved guest. I have taken leave to alert my cousin in Magnimar of my father's passing. I shall return in a week to finish my father's task. Please continue your task at the prison.
On their return, Gaarm decides to push forward past the room with the poltergeist, glad that it hasn't reanimated yet.
He opens the creaking door to find a huge stone furnace dominates this room, large enough for a child to climb inside. An ancient fire has burned away the entire east wall the room, providing a panoramic, if eerie, view of the lake beyond. That same lake has gradually expanded into the room, flooding its eastern half.
The enormous furnace in this chamber once heated Harrowstone. A soot-caked copper plaque over the furnace entrance reads “Ember Maw.”

Naxx wants to throw himself against the door hopeing to force it shut, but looks at the other party members and figures they would have a much beter chance of that thne he would.
Is the eastern wall still somewhat there? Could we bash it down further and flood the furnace?

Knowledge religion: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Sir Tom creates water at the heart of the fire, hoping to start putting it out.
GM Bold Strider |
The wall to the east is completely demolished. You would have to somehow sink the rest of the room that is slowly sinking into the lake from erosion anyway.
Sir Thomas creates water in a vain attempt to quell the flaming furnace but his attempts just cause bursts of steam to erupt from the furnace. Nizvit rushes up to try and close the furnace door, but it doesn't seem to work.
Sir Thomas thinks that this haunt might be susceptible to cold damage, but would need to see it in action.
Gaarm |
Gaarm rushes forward to help Nizvit close the furnace.
Small trickles of sweat pour down his face as the flames from the furnace heat up.
Strength check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Staring into the flames and heat makes his eyes begin to go wild as he sees Nizvit in the flames burning him once again.
Gaahh, Nooooooo!
He screams as he pulls harder.
Sir Thomas the Benevolent |
If anyone can lower the heat with some cold magic, that might help.
Nizvit the Kobold |
"I dont do well with cold...." he grumbles under the strain of the door
