The man lets out a sigh of relief as his arrow downs the creature, "Thank Erastil." He says with a brief grasp of his holy symbol.

He watches after Dryn climbs down and calls down, "Is everyone alright down there?"

Aarakess suddenly comes back to reality and realizes that her body really hurts. Not to mention that there is an arrow sticking out of her shoulder. Wincing in pain, she calls on her patron to heal a little more of the wounds she has sustained.

To summarize some of what happens

Everyone climbs to the bottom and gathers up. With a boost up, Kilthan climbs up to the next level, just below where the morlock archers were positioned. Here he sees a passage way not much more than a wide crack leading south (same direction as the passage below but that one is 10' wide) Kilthan is pretty sure it could be traveled though it would be tight Wouldn't be squeezing rules, but it would be hard to fight with anything but a light weapon (-4 to hit)

Lowering a rope for help, Kilthan pulls up Tohall and gets a boost from the cleric so he can climb up to their ledge. Here is what is recovered:

"Nice call on checking these guys out Kilthan." Tohall calls out as the finds are passed down and both he and the elf return to the others.

"What manner of creature is that!?" the man asks looking at what Justin and Ingrid had to deal with.

The pulls out his wand, "I suppose we should return ourselves to some semblance of health, before we continue." Tohall says and then in a serious tone adds, "Speak of if you are wounded, and do not hide your injuries please."

Kilthan whistles appreciatively, "That's a better haul that I expected, for sure.... Can I grab one of these bows? They may not have the pull of this thing I just bought, but it looks better-made."

He nods at Tohall's wand, "I'm only a little hurt -- Deal with the others first."

As the cleric begins to heal the others, Kilthan says, "The small passage up there is likely where them Morlocks came from -- might be they're guarding something valuable... or just a faster way to the heart of this place."

Aarakess takes Tohall's wand and zaps herself a few times to eliminate the worst of her wounds.

Why is it that whenever we are surprised, it is me in the line of fire. Those annoying bird men attacked me from both sides, and now I was the one on the wall when they started tossing sticky stuff.

Also, was that big monster hiding anything? Has anyone checked its cave out?

Justin smiles at how quickly Aarakess began asking questions and responds calmly. "We were going to check out that nasty beast that hit me with Iomedae knows what kind of diseased teeth and claws, when I saw a damsel fall and thought I should heal them quickly. All thoughts of looking for treasure and monster lairs were forgotten."

Justin looks around. "We should use Drynn's potions and saved spells first. These smaller scale healing potions brings our total to 16. So it will be three to all but Aarakess and Tohall who get two."

"After we search and grab some loot, it will be back for a good rest. I am out of healing for the day too."

I think we can rest up. That was a brutal encounter.

Aarakess looks to Tohall: I can heal each of you once per day, including myself. I have used my patron's powers on myself already.

Aarakess then looks at Tohall and he feels his strength renewed as he envisions a powerful panther leaping across the chasm above and landing casually with hardly a sound.

Justin leads the way into the Otyugh territory.


The cavern's floor is choked with loose rubble, fallen stalactites and other debirs. Here and there, stalagmites poke up through the loose rocks. Ahead, a ten-foot-wide passage opens in the far wall. The passageway emerges at the base of another shaft. A large pile of rocks and stony debris is piled in the corner ahead, while above a crude rope bridge links a stone shelf almost directly overhead to a second shelf set thirty feet up the opposite wall.

First order, I believe, was to climb up to the lower shelf where the rope-bridge is -- and depending on how that goes, climb the bridge -- I would imagine the vantage point at mid-cross should let me see everything in the room, including what may be atop the pile of debris? (Speaking of which...)

Kilthan looks up and around then nods again, "While I'm up there, it might be worth looking in the rocks. Despite what the walking filthpiles look like, they're smart, and it's possible he was hoarding away valuables."

Go ahead Kilthan DC 12 to climb, with a boost up you only need 2 climb checks, but not in combat so you can take 10 if you wish

If it's that easy, I won't worry about a grapnel. Taking 10 -- though I'll stop to inspect the ledge before stepping on to it.

So... assuming I'm not jumped....

At the top you see the rope bridge that spans the way ahead of you, as well as the narrow passage behind you that you assume is the other side of the one you saw near where the archers were. I changed the map for you Kilthan in the normal map link above...having two links have really helped make this 3d stuff work!

The rope bridge sways slightly, stirred by the almost imperceptible movement of air in this cavern. It consists of three length of rope arranged in a V-Shape. The lower point of the V serves as a foothold, while the upper arms allow one to hold steady as they cross.

What is everyone doing down below? Anyone trying to help cover Kilthan will need to get a better angle as he climbs up if they want to keep him covered

Having had enough getting poked and stuck and almost killed today, Aarakess waits pensively to see what happens. She also has her longbow in hand should she need it.


Will you back up with Dryn and Tohall (assuming they do) to keep Kilthan in view?

Having been surprised by too many trick passages and doors in this dungeon, Aarakess, rather than watching the ranger above, keeps a close eye on the area around where they are, especially the area with the fallen rocks and rubble in it.

Dryn pulls back, keeping Kilthan in sight as much as possible, watching for any signs of danger about him, mumbling to herself in Infernal as she moves about the things she'll do to anyone who tries to hurt her friends again*.

Ideally, should probably have one of us keep an eye on Kilthan, while the other watches behind him. And if Aarakess is helping another watching for possible attackers hiding elsewhere.
