After much scientific research on the Internet, the liquids in blood can extinguish fire, but the solid/semisolid components will simmer, smoke, and stink. Too much time investment for a game? Perhaps. Too much to give my players a great experience? Never! :D Player genius WILL be rewarded! Now to just decide what to collect the blood in, right?

Miri walks and starts dragging a body towards the fireplace. She looks to Vritra and Grumblejack, "A little help here big guys? It's so very unladylike to drag three dead bodies by my lonesome! One or two is fine, but three is a bit excessive."

Grumblejack chortles a bit, "Oi, poor little 'un! I'll help, but since I think more is good, I'll go snatch that dead berk from the cellblock." He looks at Davin, narrowing his eyes at the bandit, "What about you, ya squicky little git? You gonna do somethin' besides stand there trying to be look all spiffy, 'cause it ain't working. Get that other body at the table, will ya? And don't make me ask twice, or I'll use your bones as me latest fashion statement, savvy?"

Davin hesitates for a moment, "Errrm..." He looks around a moment. His eyes alight on the one named, of all things, Oscar. He quickly turns back to Grumblejack, "Right! I'll just go and... ummm... pick up one of the roasted sods and bring them back here. Yes, that'll do!

Male Noble Drow Psychic Vampire Nercomancer Wizard 11(Undead, Undead Master)

Veldrin kinda shrugs when Miri mentions needing some help "I would gladly assist my dear, but my talents lie elsewhere. I'm not much for physical labor."

He looks back to Vincent "I can, however, provide some help for your ruse. As I said earlier, I can cloak an object in shadows, tossing it down before you to provide some cover. Or, I could lime you in an otherworldly glow, which would likely make you quite spooky looking. However, if you have any ability to blur or conceal yourself, it will fail while my spell is active."

Without any response, Vritra walked off with the other two. Glancing at Grumblejack, he smiled slightly. The ogre had some of the right ideas when it came to this sort of thing.

And of course, Oscar was all too right about l'gra. Perhaps in his life before he had been the one to induce that fear. Now however... he would have someone else to help with that. Death and fear would arrive together, and perhaps next time Vritra would let Oscar have a bit of his time to induce fear.

Or perhaps they could both help. After all, those below had unknowingly brought upon their doom. By capturing them, the warden, the wizard... everyone.

All would die.

A body was dragged along the floor, carefully tilted so that no stain of blood was left on the floor. They would need every drop, and leaving blood everywhere would only increase the guard's ability to find them. Dumping the body by the chimney with a crunchy *thud*, Vritra glanced at the others. "Bensvelkilti maulkir."

Jaq gave Vincent a bit of a look when he just sliced a guards throat open willy-nilly. "If you are going for quantity, it would be better to just bleed them. We can get more blood that way, if you know what you are doing." He looked around at the others bringing the bodies over. "Might as well do this over the chimney, easier that way to get the most blood down. You don't have it sticking to the sides of your containers to be wasted. But if you must place it in a container... so be it. Perhaps Grumblejack will assist me when he returns by holding them upside down, so they can be bled. We do want the most blood we can get." His eyes glinted with sadistic joy at the thought of bleeding these... pigs.

Now... time to make use of his skills as a Butcher! And it's because you look like an Oscar. Suggest a different name and it may take hold. Maybe.

F Elf Wisard/Ranger 1

Gurwen nods at Jaq. (VELDRINS A SUCK UP! lol <3) "If horney boy goes down half way and you begin spilling the blood of the innocents, then he will come out bloody too. That should terrify these idiots." She looks over at Veldrin. "Do you perhaps have something that could shroud him in darkness? It doesnt have to last but a minute or two. As long as you can do it, say, once a day?" Her tone is highly sarcastic.

Grumblejack and Davin plop the other two corpses down next to the chimney. At Jaq's suggestion, Grumblejack smirks, "Gladly!" He lifts both bodies up and crouches so he can hold them in the fireplace so the blood won't waste. "Do you thing little 'un!"

Everyone can proceed to take actions after Jaq. The Climb DC is 15. If you fail, you must make a DC 15 Acrobatics or DEX check to catch yourself. Otherwise you fall the length of the chimney. Thanks to player ingenuity, no fire damage if you do fall! You're one of my most resourceful groups yet! ;)

The drow flashes a smile at Gurwen "Don't be gettin jealous that I'm giving others attention dearie. You're still my favorite elven archer."

When the time comes, Veldrin will enchant whatever object his cloaked friend desires.

Jaq grinned and grabbed a dagger. With trained slashes, he started to bleed the corpses. As the blood started to pour out as it should, he moved to the side, allowing those heading down the chimney to make their way down. "Have fun."

Taking 10 on a Profession(Butcher) check gives him a 19 for bleeding them.

Jaq's slice was neat and clean. The blood, already beginning to thicken. Rain in thick sheets from the throats of the guards. The blood hits the flames, dousing them little by little as a loud hissing sound issued forth. You hear a deep male voice "Irena, sounds like the stew bubbled over! Could you be a dear and get it off of the fire?" A dulcet female voice replies back, "Of course Gregoir! Let me just garnish the Warden's dinner and I'll head right over!"

Oh, you! *blush*

She laughs at Veldrin's comment, but actually blushes a bit. But her smile fades quick. "Dont be stupid, girl! He is only being nice because we need each other to get out of here. He will be gone, or even try to kill me, after this is over!" Yet something in her sinks. She likes the idea of truly being liked, being a favorite for once...

Vritra began to walk towards the stairs, his hands tightening. A summoning trick to fool the guards? Perhaps his strange form could help with this. Demonic blood began to boil within him as he feels the transformation at his fingertips, ready to unleash his true power. Oh how he was tempted to simply charge down and tear them apart...

He wanted to show them just how weak they were against the progeny of a Demon and a Dragon. Double-tainted blood, always bubbling within his veins, ready to leap out in a transformation that always signaled death. But he held it in for a few more agonizing moments, ready to fly down the stairs and crush the guards with overwhelming power.

How long are the stairs?

I will assume Veldrin cast Darkness on your cloak.

As Veldrin's magic takes hold, the one nicknamed Oscar's cloak began to blacken. In moments the wisps of darkness spread to encapsulate his form. Within the darkness, his dead-black eyes glow a faint red, like two droplets of blood across the midnight sky. The Cloaked One makes his way down the chimney, but slips on some bloody soot. Remaining calm, he repositions himself before he crashed to the bottom. You fell 15 feet, out of the 30 feet comprising the shaft that you have to navigate..

Following the Cloaked One's lead, Vincent follows him. He climbs down with ease, just above Oscar. Unlike his predecessor his hands did not slip, possibly due to the serpentine scales studding his body. You are now above Cloak.

Miri gets next to the fireplace, ready to climb down the chimney. "Oh Veldrin, if I don't make it back..." she says sarcastically, before bursting into laughter "Bwahaha! Hells, we all know I'll be coming back! Hoping for something else, wasn't you? A little promise of some squeeze? Maybe later! she says with a smile. She heads down the chimney...

Just a reminder that I'd stated I was waiting for Vincent to head down before I entered the chimney. Positioning should be Vincent, Me, Miri.

Male Kyton-Spawn Tiefling Fighter/Rogue

What's the fireplace below me looking like? Do I think I can blow out the rest of the fire with my little bottle of blood by throwing it in the center at this point?

Ah drat, I forgot! Ah well, alter the placement in your head to your posts. And all that's left of the fire is a small guttering flame a few inches high and some embers. Feel free to douse it, Vincent!

Male Kyton-Spawn Tiefling Fighter/Rogue

Vincent couldn't believe that the plan was actually going well so far. He perched himself a bit and grabbed the vial from his tail to toss the bottle and shatter it in the center of the fire. He eased himself into the billowing smoke and fire, he took a deep breath enjoying the acrid smell and taste in his maw. He opened his eyes wide and strode forth out of the fireplace. "Wer hast es gewagt, mich zu rufen?" he said scanning the room before snapping his jaw in mock frustration. He cleared his throat "Ah...young maiden, you who have made the contract....what is it that you seek?" he asked as his eyes settled on the woman in the room. He let his eyes scan the room and settle on the man now "Have you summoned me to slay this man?" He said trying to still sound otherworldly and intimidating in nature. He snapped his jaws at the man "STAY IN THE CORNER, LEST I KILL YOU FOR BREATHING!!" he bellowed out at the man.

Infernal:

Bluffing the room: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 9 + 2 = 24

Gregor's Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Given that the lie was far-fetched, you took a -10 penalty, so Gregor was not fooled. Intimidate failed as well, since you were banking it's success on him believing you were a demon, incurring a -5 penalty which he barely can beat.

Upon seeing you with her baby blue eyes, the raven haired beauty Irena faints.

Gregor, a beastly man in a large green cloak, two axes slung in his belt loops, eyes you from beneath a mane of red hair. His green eyes look upon you coldly. "You're no demon, you're that prisoner: the noble bastard that burned his family alive. What do you want, monster?" His hands linger near the horn slung over his shoulder and the axes at his side.

Male Noble Drow Psychic Vampire Nercomancer Wizard 11(Undead, Undead Master)

Veldrin chuckles at Miri's teasing and playfully smacks her bottom "Of course I know you're coming back babe. I have plans for you" He says with a grin.

Turning back to the others once she jumps down the chimney he says "Come on, lets get to the other side. We have a lovely elven lass who would dearly like to be reunited with her bow"

He then takes off after Vritra down the stairs. Upon reaching the bottom, and from behind the dragon man he says in Draconic lowly. "Alright, lets give Grumblejack a moment to catch up, and then let him go in first. We should have the numbers on our side, but I can get us even more if I must"

To clear up any confusion, the chimney team will be in room 11 on the map. Those taking the stairs will be in room 16 and must proceed from there. I will allow the non-chimney to retcon any action pertaining to this misunderstanding. Or was it intentional, Vritra and Veldrin?

F Elf Wisard/Ranger 1

Gurwen smiles at Veldrin and readies the bow she has now. "Bring it on." She gives a charming smile and steps next to Veldrin.

Acrobatics to drop down the rest of the way safely: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26

Suddenly the air around the chimney darkens - obscuring mundane vision. From the blackness, two red eyes flicker into existence and fixate on Gregor. A low, emotionless voice follows - each word spoken softly but seemingly echoing from every wall of the kitchen. "You speak the truth: he is no demon. But he's not the one you need to fear...."

Intimidate: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28

I'm guessing the kitchen was lit normally, so Veldrin's darkness spell just dropped the lighting by two steps to darkness. It's only within 20ft of me, but that should still get a good bit of the area.

Male Kyton-Spawn Tiefling Fighter/Rogue

Vincent felt the presence before the lighting when out. He seemed on edge and his fingers eager to bolt into action at the man's slightest move towards the door or the horn.

Held action to bomb him if he tries to blow the horn or run to the door

Inside the darkness, the villains observed Gregoir, who seemed unnerved, given his tight stance. "What is it you want, foul spawn of darkness? From where have you come?" Despite his bold words, his right hand trembled as he grasped the haft of his axe. Miri leapt down quiet as a mouse. The two felt her push past them. She sounds a fake sob and speaks in a frightened, pitiful voice, "Greagoir it's me, Miri! Look just... just give them what they want, ok? They said they'll kill me if you don't! Oh please, I didn't sign on for this! I don't want to die!"

That's a BIG Bluff DC for such a low level!

"Miri... I... What do they want?

I'll let one of you two answer, for dramatic effect!

Male Kyton-Spawn Tiefling Fighter/Rogue

Vincent watched the scene fold out carefully, his hand relaxing. He grinned his toothy grin. "We need that cloak of yours, I'm afraid our accommodations were unsatisfactory so we would like to look for lodging elsewhere. We would also like your horn and if a hand is raised against us and we can trace it back to you...well I'm afraid that death will be a sweet sweet wish of hers before we are through with her, but if we feel you have honored our arrangement and just gone about your day like this event never unfolded...well then they will be let go at the city limits...and by they I mean..." he said as he began to pace over every so slowly and dramaticly to Irena before grabbing her and hoisting her up onto his shoulder. He grunted a bit with the effort, he was lucky he wasn't carrying anything else really or he might be unable to do this. " Her as well." he said with some finality. One hand across the woman's backside to keep her in place, his main hand free to grab at his chemicals if needed.

Time to move. The energy beat high, excitement boiling over in his veins. Yet still, Vritra restrained his mixed blood, maintaining his composure as he flung the door open. Feet pounded against the floor as he dashed down the steps, suddenly finding himself in an empty room below. The Suli bared his teeth as his blood pushed up, trying to overwhelm him with anger...

But he pushed it down and breathed heavily. The blood simmered down as he crouched against the stone wall. Glancing at Veldrin, the green eyes bobbed as he nodded. "Vorq." he said quietly, gesturing towards the door. Hopefully there would be something there.

The blood was begging for him to release its power.

Jaq looked at his work, pleased with the outcome. He turned to look at Grumblejack with a grin on his face. "That should be enough for them. So while they play in the kitchen, let's go have some fun ourselves." Jaq would proceed to follow after the others with Grumblejack.

Gregoir narrows his eyes, "You can have the cloak but you're not taking the women, forsaken. If you think you are, you've got something else coming." He takes his hand away from his axes and unclasps his cloak. He pulls the forest green cloak off and throws it at his feet. "Leave them be, and you can walk right on out of here." The look on his face is stern and grim, clearly unhappy about this situation.

Grumblejack smashes the door down with his bulky frame, stooped like a wild animal. A savage grin is plastered on his face. Vincent faked a sigh and looked over at the man as for what passed for lips curled back over his teeth to give a less threatening look. He looked up at his kidnap victim and back over to him "I suppose I could concede to do that, it would be rather difficult to carry such a hostage and get away with haste." He said as he began to adjust his prize and set her down on the ground. His tail tip hidden from Gregoir's view eased his vials out, using the woman to hide them before he gently rested the female's head on the ground and transferred the vials to his han. the beastly man falling for the bluff hook-line-and-sinker. Although he see in the billowing darkness, his eyesight would have failed to spot the Tiefling's next move. Vincent moves the volatile chemical from his tail and deftly throws it, concealing the motion from under Irena's ruffled longskirt. The glowing vial of orange fluid shatters upon Gregoir's face and he yells in pain, "Damn you, villain!"

The Darkness effect has reduced the ambient light to darkness, by the way Vincent and Cloak]

The shadowy Cloaked one moves swiftly in the gloom towards Gregoir. Once he reaches the man, he curls his hands like a raven's talons and a dark energy, darker than even the pitch black surroundings, coalesces into claws. He plunges them in Gregoir's heart. When he removes them, the man falls to the grounds, dying.

Miri, following the dark figure's footsteps, reaches the down Gregoir. She plunges her blade into the nape of his neck, severing his spine rather cleanly. [ooc]Since he was down, I saw no problem with move/coup de grace. Not like he would have got up even if he stabilized, so her taking two rounds does not conflict in my opinion.

Male Noble Drow Psychic Vampire Nercomancer Wizard 11(Undead, Undead Master)

Opps, forgot to roll how long the frightened conditioned lasts 1d4 ⇒ 3 rounds.

Veldrin's spider-like cackle echos through the room, as he laughs at the poor man's desperate attempt to flee, and the arrow sticking out his back. He points his finger at him, and a chilling beam fires from his outstretched digit 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 Ray of Frost for 1d3 ⇒ 3 cold

He flashes Gurwen a pleasant smile "Nice shot dearie"

The display of violence in these few seconds drove Vritra's mind wild with ecstasy. The sheer dominance! How easily the man crumpled to the ground, his jaw broken as his weak blood spilt onto the floor. Of course he would not be able to stand after the vicious blow, of course he had died. The way of dragons was one of such incredible...

The jingling of keys drew the mad Suli's attention, his eyes snapping to take stock of the pitiful being trying to flee from the powerful. Running up behind the man, he drew his fists together, aiming to smash the man away from the door with sheer momentum.

Are the guards by Grumblejack still alive? If so, my actions will change.

Male Kyton-Spawn Tiefling Fighter/Rogue

Vincent stood up as his smoke began to clear and watched he carnage follow. He nodded a bit and smiled "I can't help but say that plan went perfectly" he said matter of factly, ignoring the fact that for the most part it only halfway worked but a little improvisation and lying later it turned out right. He scooped up the cloak and stuffed it in his bomb bag. He looked over as a gush of blood came from the guard's throat and laughed "Well then...to kidnap or not to kidnap..." he said looking over at the poor woman. "She could still be useful...though I doubt she would be useful afterwards...maybe a chambermaid or a cook, she was the cook yeah?" he asked stroking his chin. "Miri dear.....what's through that door, I assume the mess? Is it dinner, I might have a bit of just dessert available for them..." he asked as a sly smile came to his face and a hand went to his bomb bag.

Four bombs to go, I'm honestly not sure how cocky he is gonna be when he is out of ammo....hmmm I will have to think on that

Vritra, the guards at the base of the stairs with Grumblejack on them are still alive.

Ne'er mind my indecision, realized it would take too long to Intimidate one of the fallen guards into helping us. My actions stay the same.

"Now that, was an entrance." He leisurely strolled up to one of Grumblejack's flattened guards, before looking down at them. "My Lady sends her love."

He swung the club in his hand down at the guard.
