Pierce "Spears" Friggens |

"To Sandpoint!
Spears raises his flagon.
"Everything in my wanderings in Sandpoint tell me the Sherriff and his men do a good job in the town, but what about out and about? Those goblin come from someplace, let's see if we can't find someone who might know and go root them out? What say you?

Sacerdos Echthileon |

Sacerdos raises his own mug of cider in response. "I agree. There is nothing but glory in facing down these vile creatures and turning their intentions away from this town." He looked about the room and smiled in return to those patrons who'd pledged coin to their meals and drinks.
In response to Ameiko's information, Sacerdos inquires of her. "First, thank you for your generosity to this group. I wonder if I might trouble you for some direction. Would there be anyone local who might have an inkling of knowledge regarding why goblins would be so bold as to storm into Sandpoint on such an occasion as this? Has there been other recent attacks in the local countryside?"

Lorilon Minkmasher |

Lorilon stares for a second at Spears, as if trying to understand why a man of his build would shy away from the delightfulness of a tavern-brawl.
As the other adventurers arrive, Lorilon nods in greeting towards them and empties and refills his flagon a few times before he wishes his companions a good night. The gnome leaves the table and finds his way to one of the rooms reserved for the party, retiring for the night.

"To sandpoint! To Glory! To our company! and Death to Goblins!"
Anders happily joins in the celebration, but does not drink to excess and after a suitable time makes his way to his room for sleep.

![]() |

After speaking with Ameiko I sit at the table with the others and sip my water whilst ruminating. Once evening draws near and it becomes dark I retire to my room.

GM BigBusMan |

The Campanions spend the evening celebrating at the Rusty Dragon, after much drink and good food they retire for the evening, the next morning they all awake refreshed and ready for more adventure, they all find themselves in the common room of the Rusty dragon..

![]() |

Anders goes down to the common room at a very early hour; he lingers over his breakfast and watches Bedlam as he arrives.
"He said he'd see us in the morning at the Rusty Dragon. Perhaps he rises late" he replies to the dwarves query.
"Ameiko, what hour does Mr. Foxglove rise?" He asks the proprieter.

Lorilon Minkmasher |

Stumbling down the stairway leading into the common room, Lorilon's hair reaches out in all directions, and one can quite easily notice how the gnome looks quite similar to a zombie this early in the morning. A stream of drool hangs down his chin, and he wipes it off on his bracer at the bottom of the stairs.
He walks over to the bar and mumbles something half-hazy to the proprietor; "Hrmgu.. GIVE me one of those... Hatchamacallit! Breakfast? I'll be.. over yonder, stupid bunch of nimglets.." before he nods heavily at Anders and Bedlam and crashes down on a chair.

Katrin gets up well rested after a nights rest at 8 AM in the morning. She decides to try the Xian breakfast out and is confused when fish, rice, beans, tofu and soup are served to her. She says to Amekieo, "What the heck is this supposed to be? This isn't breakfast food. Who eats rice, beans and fish for breakfast?" she then picks up the chopsticks that came with the meal and shows them "And what are these supposed to be? Where is the knife and fork?"

Pierce "Spears" Friggens |

Spears wanders downstairs after a restful, if late night. Glancing at the gnome, he shakes his head. "Lorilon, are you like this every morning, or just mornings after you drink your and Bedlam's weight in ale? Just wondering if we are going to have to hide the sharp objects until you become fully awake."
Spears sits down next to Lorilon and gets the serving girl's attention and motions for another breakfast.

Lorilon Minkmasher |

With the mention of his name, Lorilon's head (which at this point had sunk quite close to the ground, nearly tipping him out of his chair) returns to an upright position, and his eyes open widely - making him appear like he had fallen asleep during a lecture, trying to determine if anyone noticed him doing so.
As he spots Spears' glare, he smiles broadly. "Hah! If there's anyone in this room that knows how to hold his ale, it's Lorilon Minkmasher!" As he ends his sentence, his eyes go groggy once more, but with a slap to his own face or two, he resumes. "Just need some grub in my belly, usually wakes me up good and proper! Oh, and I do like sharp objects, I'll be sure to admit that! So where's this.. Foxface, was it? We're waiting for?"

GM BigBusMan |

Ameiko Looks at Katrin and smiles..
"Well I suppose if you want to eat the same slop as those guys..you're welcome to it miss..but i assure you this breakfast is much better for your girlish figure..
Ameiko then turns her attention to Anders..
"I believe Mr.Foxglove should be joining us momentarily..he had mentioned something about a great expedition into the forest today.."
She then serves the rest of the group plates full of eggs, bacon, sausage, grilled tomatoes, beans, toast and mushrooms

Bedlam Bottomland |

Bedlam smiles broadly as the hearty breakfast is placed before them and he looks to Katrin.
Haha! It be looking as if you got some light fancy thing there!
With that he grabs a knife and folk at stabs eggs, bacon, sausage, grilled tomatoes, beans, toast and even the mushrooms.
And since you won't be needing any of this...
Bedlam takes a second portion! And he laughs--food flying everywhere!

Sacerdos Echthileon |

Sacerdos arrives at the table, smiling at all in attendance. "Breakfast I see." He scoots over a chair and signals for a plate of food and coffee. "Did I hear correctly that this Foxgrove has a plan to head into the forest?"

![]() |

Katrina says, "Whatever. Strange as it is its still food I guess. I will give it a try. Thanks for the meal."
Seeing how she does not know what chopsticks are used for she uses her pocket dagger and the spoon from the soup to eat the food. She finds it surprisingly good although it takes a while to eat as she lacks a fork. In Xian it would probably be a breach of table etiquette, but she sees it as the way to eat what is before her. Finished she says, "Yea that was weird but surprisingly good. Next time I will stick to the real breakfast food. That felt more like a dinner than a breakfast to me."

![]() |

Anders looksd at Katrin.
"We had a hand from Xian back home. He always used those wooden sticks to eat with. Most amazing thing. He could pick up food as easily as we could with a knife and fork. I tried it once, but I couldn't do it. I think I'd starve in Xian."

I approach the bar first, and give a warm greeting to Ameiko. I then move to the table with everyone.
Everyone is feeling well I take it, recovered from the evening of ale and feasting?
Lorilon, you manage quite well.
Katrin, Ameiko know many things, and she's quite adept with food. I would gladly keep you by my side in battle as well.
Anders, tell me about Xian, it sounds exotic.
Sacerdos, how are you faring?
Bedlam taking to the eating, you eat like a dwarf, and represent them well in combat.
"Spears", well done yesterday.
Everyone well done. If I am to be part of this company I would gladly follow as I will be protected, and I shall protect all of you.
Pausing
I feel good today. A brush with death, or the possibility of it, shows me it's not my time, and I'm to experience more in this world.
I ask for a breakfast and cider.

![]() |

Katrin looks to Carrion and says, "Well what exactly do you do Carrion? I didn't see you do anything of note during the past two battles with the Goblins. Then again the Goblins were a bunch of pussies anyway and we took them down fast and easy yesterday without your help. If I'm going to fight the next battle with you I'll need to know if you can handle yourself."

![]() |

Well Katrin I am a purveyor of the magical arts, and I have much dedicated to defense. I can aid others defenses as well. That is how I have lived, the fates have seen to that. Involving other spellcasters I am far more useful than a straight melee fight.
I did inflict some damage to a goblin with my crossbow. You strong-arms ran through everything before others had a chance, but that shows your skill in battle.
Knowledge history about the temple fire 5 years ago and detailed accounts, people involved, etc. 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
My battle usefulness was questioned, so I will use my strengths to aid the group. If I can bring information to help in battles I have directly contributed, which is my goal. Nevermind on the aiding part, the dice roller is not aiding me.

![]() |

"Let us not argue about it; after all we cannot all be warriors and Arcane casters have their own contribution to make" Anders nods to Carrion. "My mistress counts many Arcanes among her worshippers. She does not discount their worth, though it is not a warriors way. Who kills the Goblins; the warrior or the weapon that enabled the warrior? So, many arcanes specialise in enabling warriors; Others in defending them and still others in useful spells that help their comrades in arms. So it is in all wars: which is better, the warrior that can kill or the guard that brings warning of attack? The knight in armour or the scout who tells him where the enemy is? All must contribute in different ways for the battle to be won and it is foolish for the knight to berate the scout for not being a knight, or the warrior to berate the guard for not killing."

Bedlam Bottomland |

Bedlam raises his mug high.
Aye, we be a good team with many contributors who each be having their own gifts. One day--soon, I expect--we will be needing more than strength in arms. We will be glad to have friend Carrion with us!

![]() |

Katrin says to Carrion, "A sorcerer you say? Well that makes all the difference. Having someone who can fling those blasty thingies and deal with magical stuff would be hella useful for the group. I don't know anything about magic and the world is full of it. As a friend once said to me, 'Sometimes you need more than a sword to deal with sorcery'."

Pierce "Spears" Friggens |

Spears wipes his mouth and finishes off the last of his drink. He sits back in his chair and leans over toward Lorilon, "His name is Foxglove, I am not sure he'd take kindly to you calling him Foxface...He looks like a bit of a dandy, but he might be rich and it's coin we need" he says with a chuckle.

Sacerdos holds his council, content in eating his breakfast and listening to the group's banter. It was his way; listening, learning and making sure he didn't leap to conclusions. He winces a bit at Katrin's questioning of Carrion, but is impressed by both Carrion and Anders' responses. Patiently thought out words that took the sting out of the initial inquiry.
...this is how a good troop is organized... He thought to himself with a smile. The cleric sips at his coffee and ensures to clear his plate of food, subconsciously aware of the dwarf's voracious appetite.
"For my part, good comrades," Sacerdos begins, wiping his mouth with a napkin and pushing his empty plate forward. "...I will endeavor to keep you all healthy, perhaps increase your abilities as Empyreal Lord Ragathiel blesses me to the task."
The cleric rests back in his seat, he eyes his bastard sword hanging from the chair back by its belt. "If it comes down to armed combat, I'll do my best to keep up with those of us more gifted in battle, but my talents are more geared towards strategy than direct combat."

Lorilon Minkmasher |

While still smirking, Lorilon leans over towards Spears.
"Potato, tomato - it's all the same! But I hear you, sir - coins sure brighten up one's day, don't they."
Smiling at Anders' responce, Lorilon stands up and grabs his own chair from the back.
"I really don't see the complexity of just smashing it over someones head. I tell you, once it splinters good and well over the back of a wizard, you'll be sure he wont be casting any spells for a while!"
He laughs heartily before sitting back down, clearly enjoying himself.

![]() |

A true sorcerer can take such a chair and still make magic happen.

![]() |

A smart sorcerer would have you believe you hit them, or make themselves nearly untouchable. There is much magic can do, and that is highly dependent upon the wielder.
I believe we compliment each other well. So long as we work together and use your strengths there is little that can stop us. This is the path I seek to follow.

![]() |

Anders grins and says,
"I've heard tell of sorcerors that can take that chair and make it attack you. But even the best of sorcerors have to get a spell off first, and if you hit them hard enough with it before they do..."

![]() |

you're very lucky, they're ill prepared, or not competent.

Sacerdos Echthileon |

"Touche," Sacerdos responds to Carrion's comment with a grin. "Of course, as has been said at this very table, it is the individuals together that makes the whole stronger. However, in my experience, beware a magic user or warrior who ventures alone. They are either extremely overconfident, foolish blowhards or are extremely potent masters of their craft. In both cases, dangerous."
By the Empyreal Lord will they ever cease this competition? I hope this brinkmanship doesn't rear its head on the battlefield, or we're going to be charging off in different directions to die quick and separate deaths! The cleric grinds his teeth a bit.
He finishes his coffee and looks about the tavern hall for their potential employer. "Now if we're done with the useless exercise of comparing broadswords, perhaps we can find this Foxgrove character."

Lorilon Minkmasher |

Still smiling broadly, Lorilon leans over towards Carrion - his big brown eyes staring upwards towards the sorcerer.
"I have an idea, how about I get up out of this chair - pick it up and raise it over my head - if you manage to cast a spell before I smack you over the head with it - you are right! If you can't, then I win!"
Lorilon quickly shakes his head for a second, then bursts into laughter - tears rolling down his chin as he hits his thigh with the palm of his hand.
"I'm just kidding, Carrion - bwa-haha! No offence ment, friend-o - just trying to get that twig out of your posterior!"
Lorilon proceeds to wipe his tears on his bracer, attempting to evade the stain of drool already there - then get a swig of ale, deeming it about time to start drinking.

![]() |

If you could jump on the table with the chair and hit me over the head that would be a feat of its own.
Carrion starts to laugh wrily at the joke.
I mean no offense as well. Admittedly I believe magic to be a great boon, and not so easily muted. Next ale is my treat. I'm sure Mr. Foxglove is around here. The path is clear.

![]() |

Katrin says, "Aldean Foxglove will show himself when he's ready to do so. After all he wanted to meet us personally. For now let us go out on the town and do some activities. I am most interested in touring the town a bit and perhaps pay a visit to the local weapon shop to look at their selection. Who knows, as a hero of sandpoint I might get a discount."

![]() |

Katrin Helgunner says to the others, "Well off to tour the town. I will see you all at a later time."
Katrin walks out into the streets and begins touring around the town. Along the to the market district she spots the theatre house and recalls that there is some kind of production called "The Harpy's Curse" going on. She decides to take a look at the place and maybe get a sneak peek at the rehearsals.

Sacerdos Echthileon |

Sacerdos grins at Spears and nods his thanks. "I should mind my own hubris when thinking to make a lecture, eh?" The cleric chuckles and thanks a passing barmaid as she clears his plate and coffee cup.
In seeing Katrin depart, he thinks perhaps there may be some time before meeting this Foxglove to check in on the Sheriff. He pushes himself from the table and begins belting on his sword. "I'm of the mind to see this town Sheriff this morning, see if he was able to extract any information from our little green troublemaker. Maybe we can get some leads as to their base of operations."
Sacerdos pushes in his chair and looks to the others at the table. "Anyone care to join?"
@GM - If this isn't a direction you wanted to go in, just let me know.

Pierce "Spears" Friggens |

"I'll go with you Sacerdos, perhaps my knowledge of the goblin tongue can be of use."
With that he stands, thanking the young lady clearing the table for her work, dropping 2 silver coins on the table for tip.
