Rgulbux Thunderdrum |
"Grax!" the half-orc yells as he stunned briefly with the sight of his fallen brethren. Yet when the swordsman advances on Alexis, he knows that he must charge him down to protect the gnome. "ROAR!!!!"
Charge with Greatclub: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 4 + 2 = 25 for damage of: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

All things considered? I guess not. :[
I don't suppose it's too late for takebacksies? ^.^

It didn't trigger yet and of course if the Swordsman is dropped you could still use your readied action. 11 HP doesn't quite drop him, though. But Rgulbux rolled a 1d8 instead of a d10 for his greatclub damage. So he can reroll and if the Swordsman is dropped I'll have you use your ready action when the time comes. Cool?

that's odd. I'm not sure why hero lab had me rolling a D8. I'll take a look when I get home in a couple hours to find out what's going on.
GM Bauers |
I don't believe you can charge him because it's not a straight line, but you hit him anyway (and don't get the -2 to AC). You guys should have editing rights, so feel free to move your tokens on the map.
Rgulbux drops the cocky swordsman in one blow, repaying him for what his companion did to Grax. In response, one of the reserves steps up behind the Ulfen, casting a spell on him from her scroll. Sorry Alexis, but I don't believe you have line of sight to her from the pillar. If I'm wrong, let me know, because you'd hit.
Next up: Mr. Copper Pot
Half-Elf Caster (green)
Grax (unconscious, dying)
Greatclub (blue)
Alexis, Guinfa
Swordsman (red) (unconscious, dying)
Rgulbux
Human Caster (purple)
The spell was Shield of Faith
Mr. Copperpot |
"Oh, no!" Mr. Copperpot exclaims! They have seen through my illusion!"[/b] he adds, something perhaps some in his own group had not done.
The gnome, his knees trembling, steps out from behind his column and casts color spray on the enemy directly in front of him.

DC 17 Will
That guy is unconscious and dying from Rgulbux's attack. Would you like to do something else? ;-)
Guinfa Mlumbi |
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
They've protected the Ulfen with a shield of faith! Guinfa shouts to his companions in case someone want to change his tacticts due to this.
But it won't help at all against my spells
GM Bauers |
Sorry for the delay--rewinding a bit, Alexis' crossbow shot would hit, and disrupt the spell. So to recap...
The caster tries to bolster the Ulfen's defenses, but the spell fizzles when Alexis' bolt strikes her in the shoulder.
Mr. Copperpot, not wanting the swordsman's allies to revive him, blasts a spray of colors onto the already unconscious foe.
The half-elf responds, sending a bolt of force at the paranoid gnome. 4 force damage to Copperpot
Grax can make a stabilization check for his turn.
The Ulfen shakes his head and roars, incensed that Guinfa clouded his rage.
Next up: Guinfa
Swordsman (red) (unconscious, dying)
Rgulbux
Alexis
Human Caster (purple)(-3 HP)
Concentration DC 14: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Force missile on Copperpot: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Guinfa Mlumbi |
Good idea Mr Copperpot, let's cast on them, says Guinfa as he moves near their opponents. As he moves near he focus his stare in the enemy at the back, eroding his self confidence or better said imposing a -2 to will saves due hypnotic gaze
Then he turns his attention to the ulfen and the caster, making some grease appear under their feet. Reflex DC 15
Some help here will be appreciated. Is not I can't deal with three of them, but it'll be easier for me.
Alexis "The Odd" Trismegistis |
Alexis reloads her crossbow and fires at the man in back with the baleful bolts.
light crossbow vs Reverend Green: 1d20 ⇒ 2
damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
bolt is retrievable on a 1-10, 21-30, 41-50, 61-70, or 81-90: 1d100 ⇒ 43
She fails to cock her crossbow properly enough, though, and the bolt clatters harmlessly to the ground when fired.
GM Bauers |
Ulfen: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Human caster: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
The enraged Ulfen falls to the ground while the caster keeps her footing.
Next up: Rgulbux
Rgulbux Thunderdrum |
Rgulbux advances on the half-elf with the blue sash and casts a spell at him. "You're going to pay for what you did to Grax, Elf!"
Cast Cause Fear, DC14
GM Bauers |
The half-elf is terrified by Rgulbux's magic! Meanwhile, the human steps deftly through the grease, healing her own wounds and that of her companion with a pulse of positive energy. The cocky swordsman is no longer bleeding profusely, but he is still unconscious.
Next up: Mr. Copper Pot (-4 HP)
Half-Elf Caster (green)(terrified)
Grax (unconscious, dying)
Greatclub (blue)
Rgulbux, Alexis, Guinfa
Human Caster (purple)
Will Save Half Elf, hypnotic gaze: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 - 2 = 2
Acrobatics, human caster: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Channel Energy, selective channel: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Color spray rolls: 2d4 + 1d4 ⇒ (2, 4) + (3) = 9
Mr. Copperpot |
Mr. Copperpot rushes toward the exit, and seeing an enemy barring the way, tries to determine how to get past. Though the enemy has seen through his illusion, he nevertheless maintains it, cowering behind it like a security blanket.
double move
Grax, Son of Dray |
Stabilize, DC 10: 1d20 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (9) + 2 - 1 = 10
"Gerald! You cannot die on me! I forbid it!" Javon's squawks reach the half-or's subconscious mind and...his body obeys.
GM Bauers |
Mr. Copperpot and his illusory friend advance on the half-elf, who turns around and sprints out the exit as fast as he can.
The half-orc slips around in the grease and gains his footing, standing over his first fallen foe and swinging his club at Guinfa, knocking him senseless.
Move to stand up. 5 ft to step out of grease (standing in Grax's square).
Standard to attack
10 damage to Guinfa
Next up: Rgulbux, Alexis, Guinfa
Human Caster (purple)
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Greatclub vs Guinfa, PA: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Damage: 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Rgulbux Thunderdrum |
Rgulbux stomps on the ground and shouts a fierce grunbling battle cry before charging the half-orc who has just struck Guinfa, "ARROOOO!"
Greatclub: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 for damage of : 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
GM Bauers |
Why senseless? I have 11 HP, enough to resist and run away
I just meant it as flavorful text, not anything having to do with game mechanics. :-)
Rgulbux delivers a solid blow to his fellow club-wielder.
I misspoke earlier when I called him a half-orc. He's actually an Ulfen human. Whoops!
Alexis "The Odd" Trismegistis |
*sigh* Where did the term "flavor" come from, and why did it spread? I do not like it, Sam-I-Am. The game belongs in your head, not in your mouth.
Anyways, 5-foot step and reload my crossbow as a move action.
Alexis approaches the center of action gingerly, the light around her once again receding as a pale miasma of distant constellations surround the brute with the greatclub.
For the next round, Big Boy Blue sheds light as a candle, cannot benefit from concealment or invisibility effects (not that I expect he's about to try to), and takes a –1 penalty on attack rolls and sight-based Perception checks.
Guinfa Mlumbi |
Thanks for the explanation. I like flavor but sometimes I'm "lost in translation"
Guinfa steps behind Rgulbux, Thanks friend. He hits like a rhino.. Then he focus his hypnotic gaze on the human no save for -2 to will save and casts a color spray to take the enemy caster out of combat DC 15 will save
Seeing his gambit is about to fail, Guinfa allows the outsider part of his soul to expand and change the flow of events.
So I'll use Quibble on him, he must pass a DC 14 will save or he must reroll the sussfull save
GM Bauers |
Guinfa's magic drops the other enemy caster with a thud, leaving only the severely wounded, raging brute.
Kind of cool that, had you not used Hypnotic Gaze she would've succeeded!
Next up: Mr. Copperpot
Greatclub (-11 damage)
WS: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 - 2 = 13
GM Bauers |
The Ulfen roars, swinging his club at Rgulbux, but the motes of light disrupt his concentration.
Next up: Party
Greatclub vs Rgulbux, PA: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (9) + 5 - 1 = 13
Damage: 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Rgulbux Thunderdrum |
"You want some of me, do you!" and the half-orc brings his greatclub down upon the Ulfen warrior with every ounce of strength he can muster.
Greatclub: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 for damage of : 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
GM Bauers |
Rgulbux caves in the Ulfen's head, killing the man in one swift blow.
With all foes defeated, fled, or killed, you are able to leave the Shrine of the Failed and deliver Eylysia’s cache to the Grand Lodge. The crowd gathered around the Starstone Cathedral has disbanded, and many of the locals are still horrified following Sir Reinhart’s attempt to vault the
chasm on horseback, which ended with a fall into oblivion.
Drandle Dreng personally thanks you for your successful investigation, indicating his interest in their future careers as Pathfinders. If you have yet to complete your Confirmation, the venture-captain promises to speak with Master of Scrolls Kreighton Shaine to have the process expedited. Dreng assures those of you who have already completed your Confirmation that you will receive further assignments soon.
Several days later, each of the PCs receives a missive summarizing some of the Society’s initial findings.
Good game, everyone! I should have Chronicles up soon. Let me know if there's anything you need.
Guinfa Mlumbi |
Wow a piece of the Sky Key!!! Who had thought of that.
Not me, but I really like to know about them after Legacy of Stonelords.
