Hello my players!
As a heads up, I'm going to be out of the state until October 6th, so we're going to have a day or two late start. Gasp!
If you have a problem with this, I'll make sure and reserve my GM 20's just for you.
So a few things I'd like to note:
1. If you would, either a quicklink or brief overview of stats to always display on your character post's would be nice (either in the Race or Class section of the character sheet). Makes it easier for me to do quick references.
2. I use Google Docs for maps and will take your PC avatars and drop 'em in the appropriate map. I'll have a few map links under my name between the town of Thornkeep, the floor you're on, and finally a special combat map for better tactical planning.
3. For combat, I roll initiatives and play things roughly in turn order. You can feel free to post ahead of time and I'll allow another post to change your action if its invalidated (example, attacking a target that is just felled by another player).
4. I'll eventually need everyone's email address so I can email out Chronicle sheets at the end of the session. I do send out unique chronicle sheets that also note any expenditures as well as the Day Job check results (since those are now allowed for modules).
5. For prior character activities, I'm going by the honor system here: as long as everything is noted on your character page, I'm going to be alright with it. I may review PC's just to make sure everything looks good. If you'd like to note previous scenarios, please note that on your character page.
6. My best posting time is in the 10am-5pm MST range, although I'll try to check on things in the evening when I can.
7. Please PM me if you have any questions!

Ditto - might be worth it to open up a recruitment thread so this is easier to find.
Elindriel is half a battle away from finishing another mission, but should be done in time (especially if we're not starting until the 6th). I'll do what I can to update her quickly (to level 3) after I get her chronicle.
BTW - This is Christopher Dorman.

GM - you can also send emails via warhorn (at least, others have done so, so I can only assume you would be able to). I suggest sending a link to the registered players, if you haven't done so already.

GM BPChocobo TK2 |

I'll look at that tomorrow morning; on mobile right now. But thanks for the heads up there!

So Elindriel has 1000 gp she could spend on either a cloak of resistance +1, or a +1 buckler, or +1 chain shirt. Anyone have any opinions? Should she just save her gold for a +1 weapon later?

Not totally sure how you play your character Elindriel but a Cloak of Resistance is often a first magical purchase for my characters. Saves are pretty important. That's my 2 cents.
Oh, and Rutlius, bad new for you. Unless there is errata somewhere that I have missed (possible since best I can tell its not possible to keep up with it all) wizards cannot learn spells from alchemists. From the APG:
"An alchemist can study a wizard’s spellbook to learn any
formula that is equivalent to a spell the spellbook contains.
A wizard, however, cannot learn spells from a formula book."

![]() |

Right. I thought you were asking if he was willing to trade. Withces have it even more rough as they cannon copy spells and have to consume scrolls to learn new spells.

I've never seen two witches at a table though. I am sure it happens, but not that often.
Some of the stranger archetypes would be out of luck. Some have masks or dolls as familiars.

GM BPChocobo TK2 |

Noted! And thanks for the format, that's exactly what I'm looking for :)

GM BPChocobo TK2 |

Correct and correct Ki and Jostrum! Sure, be the pint-sized ringer here Ki :P

Alas, it was a false alarm. I had found a chronicle I had not recorded but it brought me up to 8 exp and not 9. I had purchased a +1 cloak on that chronicle and am updating my stats to reflect that.

GM BPChocobo TK2 |

Too late, I'm uppin' the difficulty suckers!
/prepare to die in Mythic Thornkeep
//There is no Mythic Thornkeep

GM BPChocobo TK2 |

Ahh I'll get that fixed.
And I'm surprised no comment on the fact that Rutlius' avatar is larger than the others :P

GM BPChocobo TK2 |

ish :P Although when it comes to the combat map, it'll be the same size as the others (fit within the 5' square).

@Rutlius: How'd the game go last night? I didn't think I had much chance as 5th Alt.
Went well, although there was one turn I did with the end boss that was questionable (and is in fact still being questioned. Yay gray areas!) It was one of the few times I've seen a boss follow her tactics pretty much until the end of the fight and they were strong tactics.
On a side note, just to let you all know - I'm still getting the hang on when I should pull the trigger for my summons and when to hang back. So if you guys feel like I'm not doing anything/not pulling my weight, let me know. Playing a lazy character (thassilonian specialist of sloth) is harder than I thought it would be.

GM BPChocobo TK2 |

Well, it did speed up going through encounters in rooms... and can't dawdle too much; just 2 months to finish this up! :P

GM BPChocobo TK2 |

Np, thanks for the heads up! Have fun and I'll bot you as needed and charge anything and everything that wants it :P

![]() |

I'm going to be leaving to go on vacation this Friday, and will not be back home until Sunday, 11/24.
I will attempt to log in and post each day, but feel free to bot my character as needed to keep things moving.

GM BPChocobo TK2 |

No worries, that's what I was figuring... and Jostrum is at least keeping up with you, so you're not alone :) Still have 1/2 the place to explore anyway!

GM BPChocobo TK2 |

I do not believe so Rutlius.
That would only apply if you were wearing armor you are not proficient in.
From the PRD:
Armor Check Penalty: Any armor heavier than leather, as well as any shield, applies an armor check penalty to all Dexterity- and Strength-based skill checks. A character's encumbrance may also incur an armor check penalty.
Shields: If a character is wearing armor and using a shield, both armor check penalties apply.
Nonproficient with Armor Worn: A character who wears armor and/or uses a shield with which he is not proficient takes the armor's (and/or shield's) armor check penalty on attack rolls as well as on all dexterity- and strength-based ability and skill checks. the penalty for nonproficiency with armor stacks with the penalty for shields.
Note the language difference between Armor Check Penalty and Nonproficient penalty.
So, alas, your Init mod isn't quite that low :P

Good learning experience at the very least :) A bit situational for the super high burst damage, but at least you're built to go toe-to-toe and survive it :)
