James Khulgui

James will pull out the scroll of dimension door and cast it (if it's not ruined.) and try taking Amarantha with him. I'm not sure I meet the requirements to bring someone though.
Amarantha Tosca
|
Hitching a ride into the room, Amarantha finally sees the flying critter. Dark purple clouds gather at her hands as she trudges forward five feet. Within range, her arms stretch out as an explosion of blues, purples, and blacks wash over the thing.
Cast Color Spray. DC 16 Will save

James carefully pulls out a scroll in the deep water and holding it above his head reads it when touching Amrantha. Moments later both appear with a hard "sploosh", causing waves as they displace the water.
Kelnea pulls out his weaponry and prepares for his next assault. The toothy creature nearest him sees the whip and appears very unhappy.
Triana, shaking off the effects and activating her divine power closes her wounds (preventing further bleeding) and prepares herself to attack.
Amarantha tries the color spray...
Will: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 Phase 1: 2d4 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7
...and watches the creature fall unconscious.
High it dies: 1d100 ⇒ 2
Fortunately for this creature, it had jammed itself in near the ceiling so well it stays put, not dropping into the water below.
The small dentist on the North end of the room finishes casting her spell. A cloud of silvery particles covers the area, causing everybody in the cloud (marked in blue) to look up at the mildly gitter-filled display (which is not glitterdust).
Gaz: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19 HyD: 1d100 ⇒ 61
James: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 HyD: 1d100 ⇒ 40
Kelnea: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10 HyD: 1d100 ⇒ 37
Triana: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24 HyD: 1d100 ⇒ 52
Unfortunately, everybody watches as James' eyes roll back in his head as he falls backwards into the water. Floating on his back you hear a loud snoring. Kelnea has a similar experience, also rolling onto his back before closing his eyes and falling asleep).
The (Green) critter, which previously looked unhappy at Kelnea, smiles a toothy grin as she watches him fall into the water onto his back. Oblivious to danger of Triana, it approaches, pliers in hand.
Pliers: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Shoving the pliers into Kelnea's mouth, it gleefully extracts a tooth and holds it aloft over its head before shoving it into it's own mouth.
Kelnea wakes up from the jostling. He finds himself prone and missing one of his premolars.

(Hey Gaz, a little bit about movement. You're still in a deep bog. So your movement was 4 squares per square moved. With the most favorable positioning of you becoming enbiggened, you'd have moved 40', which would mean a double move. While you do have reach, it's placement at the 10' mark means you do need to be adjacent to attack it (though there's nowhere in the room it can hide). I moved you another 4 squares (20' movement equivalent) since you're in light armor and figured you'd at least want to be in AoO range.
Gaz grows, towering over everybody, but still hip deep in the water. He moves angrily closer to the flying critter.
Wellentänzer, using intimidate to change a creature's attitude takes one minute of conversation and cannot be used in combat. You can demoralize though to provide the shaken condition (as this would make it harder to hit your friends). I've changed your action to demoralize and kept your roll.
Wellentänzer shouts at the flying creature. Looking down at Wellentänzer, giant tears pillow beneath the eyes before it begins clearly crying in terror.
The creature on the animal's head continues to snooze.
Kelnea awakens to find blood pooling around him in the water. He is clearly bleeding.

Kelena and Triana both strike at the tooth-beast. It is cut in half, and then in half again by both blades. Gore covering the once pristine water.
Amarantha blasts a ray of frost at the remaining creature. Amarantha is nearly certain she would have hit the beast if Gaz's huge head hadn't been in the way. (Missed due to cover)
The Flying creature looks terrified at the death of his friend. He waves his arms trying to cast a spell.

Triana and Kelnea grab their missing teeth. It's a little difficult to find your particular tooth in the mouth of the hideous fairy, but eventually you do so, pocketing the goods, but still having a less-than-awesome smile.
Gaz has a sleeping, blind, stunned fey lying in his grasp. The consensus is you have about half a minute before it becomes active again.
Gaz looks inside the cage. Within he sees a toothless man bobbing in the wake of the water, surrounded by stuffed birds to make him very difficult to see. He is dressed in the robes of a Pathfinder Initiate and is breathing very lightly and is quite clearly seriously injured.
One of the stuffed meadowlarks floating in the cage seems special and may be magical.
Gaz Gortag

"Humpf, looks like this guy is alive in here... think I'll wake him up... *tappity tap* Oh, and uh, what did you have in mind for this little guy, Amarantha? He's starting to come to."

Kelnea and Gaz believe they havefound everything of interest in this particular room.
As Gaz taps the unconscious form, the toothless student takes in a huge gasp of air and looks around frantically. "Oh thank goodness, Pathfinders!"
Kelnea strains his eyes as the realization comes to him. This man, although drenched, slightly battered, and completely without teeth, looks exactly like Virml, the pathfinder that started this mess.
The Nixie wakes up in Gaz's arms. She clears her eyes, and finally shakes the stars out of her head.
Now we need that grapple check.
Gaz Grapple: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
The creature wiggles right out of Gaz's arms and begins swimming quickly out of the room avoiding the huge man in an amazing display of panic. She swims around a corner and out of view.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
The creature avoid's Gaz's reach, and swims right past Wellentänzer (who still considers her an ally) and her lizard.
No need for initiative unless you guys feel the urge to go after her. She had no gear.
Triana, Knight of Carim
|
Triana would have CDG'd the Nyxie if given the chance, GM. Otherwise, she will scowl at Gaz for ruining a perfectly good opportunity for an exotic meal.
She also finds the concept of a second Virml disturbing.
There's too much idiocy in the world already for there to be two of them.
Casting detect magic at this new Virml. Focus for school on any/all auras.
No knowledge (arcana) for me to ID particular effects, but knowing whether there's an illusion should help.
"Tell me what happened, Virml."
GM.Boldr
|
Triana casts detect magic on Virml Mark II. She sees no magical auras.
Vermil looks at the Dhampir, "Ma'am. I came down on a dare. I know it was dumb, but you know how it is when you're an initiate. I found this scroll, it looks innocent enough. When I read it aloud though - OH MY! It tore in a bunch of peices and all sorts of magical creatures appeared. There was at least a bird, and an owl, and a fish, and a fox! It was crazy. The fox-man though, he was really happy about getting out. He kept going on and on about some kind of riddle, and a rematch. He was nuts about it, going around and digging through the library trying to find an answer or somebody that could hell him the answer! He kept me charmed or something, hoping I could do research for him. He must have had enough of me read a piece of the scroll and the Nixie and Tooth Fairies appeared and kept me here trapped. I am so glad you came around!"
Triana, Knight of Carim
|
"There is something impersonating you upstairs. It's probably that fox, but whatever it is--it's probably an abomination. Do you have a piece of that scroll, Virml?"
We will probably need the full page to reassemble the fox's prison.
"There's still one chamber on this floor, but it's locked. Do you have any keys?"
If he has a piece of the scroll, Triana will combine it with the others to see if it forms a full page. If it isn't she will tell the others to hurry before heading off to the final door.
Wellentänzer
|
Wellentänzer will wave to the Kelpie goodby, whispering"Run, before they get you. Triana is such an aggressive one." and nonchalently takes care no one can follow her by standing in the middle of the door. But when the others make no move to do so she will make instantly place so that she can, with the others approach the last door!
GM.Boldr
|
Virml looks sheepish, "I don't have any parts of the scroll ma'am. I've been stuck down here."
He empties his pockets showing he has no items on his person, "I can't help you at all I'm afraid."
Lining ya'll up.
The door to this chamber bears a simple lock and the handle does not move.

Gaz angrily smashes at the door before failing to open it. Kelnea pushes Gaz out of the way and immediately blows the door open, revealing a pristine, unflooded room full of books.
The water from the hall begins to rush in, this room and all of its contents will be ruined if you don't act very quick.
You have one round to react.
Gaz Gortag
|
Was the door destroyed?
Gaz Gortag
|
Gaz immediately pulls the door shut again to stop the water from rushing in.
"Um, ok.. we're going to have to enter fast and close it behind us again... I guess this is a dry room. Probably doesn't have any pieces of the poem though."
Triana, Knight of Carim
|
"Hmph...do it quickly. We have more pressing matters upstairs." comments Triana. She pulls out a whetstone and begins honing the edge of her scythe.
Kelnea
|
"Dammit Gaz! Were you born in a stable?! Get in and close the door!"
Kelnea jumps in the room and starts pushing the door closed (after everyone that intends to: actually gets in. If they dawdle, they stay on the other side).

Push and shove, even assuming Amarantha does help, the door does not budge. The group watches as moments later the tide of water can be seen destroying the priceless trove of books on linguistic treatises, language primers, and records of unique ancient languages.
The good news is that the accident has reduced this area to that of a shallow bog (rather than a deep bog).
Does the group wish to do anything the room, or move on?

Triana is no good at talking, but can be scary if she has to. I suggest intimidate--Triana needs to vent her frustration from the bog.
Kelnea
|
Kelnea would quickly rush to as many of the most important books that he can get to, and raise them above the threat of water.
Once the damage is done, however, Kelnea looks to Triana and nods. Then heads to go find this fox.
