Ru-shi Dhamphir are allowed to take the racial trait below.
Numerological Gift: Since birth you have had an intimate connection with a certain number. When you select this trait, roll 3d6. The resulting number becomes your numerological totem and can never be changed. Once per day, when you roll your totem number on a d20 (such as an attack roll, save, or skill check), you may treat that roll as if you had rolled a natural 20 on the die.
First time playing this character--here we go!
Numerological Gift: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 1) = 3Awesome!

Sounds good so far. Two wizards and a warpriest. Triana is asking for one more, once we have an answer there, I'll open up for the last 2-3 seats.

![]() |

Hello! I was pinged by Danny for recruitment as well. Still need to update this avatar for level 2, will do today.

![]() |

Sounds good - opening up to a broader audience for the last two seats.
Standard expectations: 1 post/day minimum, more if you can handle it. I understand some may not be of this time-zone, so we'll work with that too!

Just a heads up to people out there: If you completed 5-08: The Confirmation on this character--we're in the Grand Lodge. The following boon should apply:
The field agent who oversaw your Confirmation is appreciative of your bravery and camaraderie in the face of danger. She helps you perform research, granting you a +1 bonus on Knowledge checks attempted while you are in the Grand Lodge.

I'll be up to my pointy ears in new material (or water) soon enough!

![]() |

Also, my Init. mod. is +4.
I cant seem to add that to the text box on Slides from my phone.

![]() |

"I need to go on an errand, it's only 4 stops around Absalom. I shouldn't be long."
Triana returns in less than a minute, seeming more capable.
I okay'd this with the GM--it was prescheduled and pbp began sooner than expected. The only other purchase I made was a wand of infernal healing, which will go in the other spring loaded wrist sheath. If Triana goes unconscious, either wand is ok, but the wand of inflict light wounds is preferred because it heals instantly and is more efficient in the action economy (infernal healing is a full-round cast).
Also, Triana is completely cool with sharing charges of infernal healing out of combat. Try it--you just might like it.

Wellentänzer, can you do me a favor and update your character tags. I have an example of ways to do this to make my life a little easier in the Campaign Info. Thanks!

![]() |

Hey everybody, sorry for the delay. I was waiting for James, who I have just received word has temporarily lost connection to his entire locale.
We'll push on upstairs as soon as I can post.

![]() |

Good morning everybody. Today marks the beginning of the trip I noted before the game began. I will be out of town starting this afternoon through Monday evening. I've got my phone and lots of car rides ahead of me, but just wanted to give you all a heads up I may be spotty.
To finish up, an important side note and reminder.
Please if you can, take your actions to move things forward. Speaking, but not acting makes my job a lot harder, as I then have to either wait for somebody else to try to post an action, or force you ahead just to keep things moving. I'd rather not do the later. Please, and this is important - take a moment to compose what your character would do, not just say in any particular moment. I think we'd all rather try to picture actions in the mental theaters of our mind.
See you all when I'm back.

![]() |

May I request a bot for James?

![]() |

He has access to Paizo again. He told me he was going to post yesterday but I don't know what's going on with him.
Our GM also spent the weekend getting irradiated, so there's that too.

![]() |

Sorry all - I went and got myself something pretty horrible in New Mexico. After a day on the mend I'm back now!
No it wasn't radiation, although I think I got more from the chest x-ray yesterday than I probably got at ground zero of Trinity.

![]() |

Sounds like a wild weekend!

I think we need to go through a quick tutorial on using an animal companion.
Step 1: Issue a command
You issued the "attack" command to your pet. Now, the "attack" command lets you attack certain types of creatures limited primarily to humanoids and animals. Since this is neither, you will be issuing a command to your animal that it does not have, therefore you will have to "push" your animal to attack.
As you can see under the rules for Handle Animal, a "push" requires a DC 25 Handle Animal check by the owner.
Step 2: Make the Handle Animal roll associated with the command
You have not invested any skill points into Handle Animal, which means you cannot order your animal companion to do anything. Since this is level 1, and a bit of a requirement for being a druid with an animal companion, I'll let you retrain a skill point from somewhere since you'll want this. That said, you're still at only a +4 bonus, so obtaining the 25 required to push your animal is not possible and therefore your animal will not perform the command.
So unfortunately, your animal remains where he was and does not attack. Please make sure to make the appropriate Handle Animal checks in the future when issuing a command to the pet.

![]() |

A druid can handle her animal companion as a free action, or push it as a move action, even if she doesn't have any ranks in the Handle Animal skill. The druid gains a +4 circumstance bonus on all wild empathy checks and Handle Animal checks made regarding an animal companion.
Welly could attempt checks with her animal companion untrained, but would be unable to succeed at a "Push" as she only has +4 right now.
If she retrained to get a rank, she could have a +8 Handle Animal for her Animal Companion only, and could possibly succeed on a Push check.

![]() |

Hey I am indeed back. I can post again. Sorry for the whole ordeal!

![]() |

Just noticed people heading to the East, no kicking doors and taking names?

![]() |

Looks good to me.

![]() |

Can someone help me out with this scroll of dimension door? Mainly, do I have to have seen/know the area well that I want to target?

![]() |

FYI - Posting tomorrow will likely be spotty for me.
As for James' question - you don't need to have seen the area - if you can reasonably assume there's a safe place to teleport to, you may.
There may be downsides of doing this blindly (e.g. you know there's a room there, but you don't know that the floor is missing and it's really a 200 foot hole, which I have seen happen).

![]() |

Alright so Gaz is pretty frustrated with nothing standing still to get whacked and is going to chuck his greatsword at one of these things amidst his rage tantrum while switching to his bow. I'm iffy on the rules though and want to make sure everything is in order before I post something officially.
I believe the attack roll should be: Rage Throw Greatsword(Improvised Weapon): 1d20 +BAB(1) +DEX(2) -Improvised Penalty(4)
For a total of: 1d20 -1
Then I think the damage would be: 2d6(?) +STR(5)

![]() |

Throwing your sword is one of the dumbest things you can do. I would just stop power attacking instead. These things probably have low hp and if you hit them with a greatsword you're probably knocking them unconscious, power attack or not.

![]() |

They're all 10ft up and not reachable with melee. In rage I can't cast a spell to enlarge myself so the options are to drop the sword to draw the bow, throw the sword, or sheath the sword.
EDIT:
Or an I missing something? In my mind a 6 foot guy with a two handed sword could swat something at 10ft with a bit of a hop, but it would be the limit of the range.

![]() |

If you end your rage you become fatigued, sure, but you then (hopefully) enlarge to be able to smack them in melee. The str bonus from enlarge will wash out the str penalty from fatigue, and you'll be using the weapon you can deal more damage with (2d6+4). You'll still take a size penalty, so your melee attacks is going to be +4 while fatigued, vs the shortbow firing at +3 for only 1d6.
You should also update your shortcut--power attacking gives 2 extra damage when attacking with a 1-handed weapon, but gives 3 when you're wielding a 2-hander or a one-handed weapon in both hands.

![]() |

Thanks Triana, much wisdom.
GM, since they can fly up to 10ft I'm guessing I can enlarge in this room?

![]() |

*snicker*
These responses are most excellent. Your Keystone Cops antics are making me smile in what is supposed to be a really light-hearted adventure (I mean seriously, I'm doing 1d4-2 damage to you).
The idea in the height (and this is dumb but I've just relegated myself to living with it) is that everybody takes up a 5' cube. 10' up means outside 5' reach. Dumb? Probably - but easy to handle in 5' square land that is Pathfinder.
You can enlarge, and doing so would put you in reach.

![]() |

Lol good. I just had to look that up Keystone Cops but that's exactly the picture I'm getting from this scenario too.
