Alenka will wait until Fain reports back.

Did her alchemy roll on Shiver ingredients yield anything? Are they flammable? Luk Luk wanted to know.

You had already rolled on the ingredients for Shiver a while back. But the prime ingredient is Dream Spider venom, so I would say probably not flammable.

I forgot about Message! I am so used to putting in up in PFS that I don't mention it elsewhere anymore.

Though in Alenka's defense telling the pyromaniac "yes the evidence is flammable don't burn it" is probably a good idea. Plus burning down the place would destroy the loot too. Gotta think like a proper Pathfinder :p

Fain is hiding underneath the workbench in the warehouse proper. He's waiting to hear his friends enter the room beyond but doesn't know there is a room between them. If he can hear any of the struggle he will come through the first door to the room still black on the map. Otherwise he'll wait in hiding.

Just to pontificate on why Vard was reasonably certain this guy is up to no good:

* Borvius had a bunch of thugs with him, so he's clearly got some underlings.
* They're the prime suspects for exporting shiver, having both the means to export it and a probable source (and they have a bad reputation).
* If they're exporting Shiver through the warehouse, it's highly probably that everyone who works there knows.
This guy in particular
* Showed no surprise or incredulity that his boss had been detained for murdering someone.
* Didn't ask us for our credentials, but instead just tried to get away immediately.

The funniest thing to happen, would be if we knock him out, then look over to the other side of the room, where we see a desk, behind which sits a stunned looking man who has a prominent nametag reading "Supervisor Jones".

The second funniest thing would be if he goes to the Sheriff saying "hey, these guys attacked me for absolutely no reason". And he'll be the third one to do so, after Borvius and the guys trying to lynch the kid. (maybe the fourth, if someone cast Talk to Animals with the monitor lizard)

There area beef-eaters and there are pencil-pushers. One does not necessarily know about the other. This fellow seemed to me more in the latter category.

Vard Pendengas wrote:

Point. But could be only the bosses know *what* they are exporting or manufacturing. The other folks might be here just to lift heavy things and keep track of billing.

Vard Pendengas wrote:

This guy in particular

Possible, unless the bosses are in the habit of passing sealed crates through the warehouse, and have made it clear that people who are too nosy can look for jobs elsewhere. Besides, the best way of keeping a secret is not to tell anyone, particularly the hired help who might develop loose lips after a few pints.

Vard Pendengas wrote:

Point... Unless the fellow simply didn't believe a word you said. A stranger comes in, saying terrible things about the boss who has been very good with you, very understanding about taking a couple days off every year to attend to you grandma's funeral, never been late paying the wages... I know which one I would believe in, if no actual proof was offered.

Vard Pendengas wrote:

Point... Unless the fellow doesn't believe you or simply wanted to get the manager to deal with what he began to believe was going to be too complicated an issue for his pay grade.

The guy's clearly a necromancer! He raises granny from the dead every year just to have another funeral.

But seriously, not believing me would be incredulity (and what I was expecting, even if he was faking it)

Possibly the drudgery of his desk job has sucked the life out of him, so he just accepts anything anyone says with bland professionalism, in which case I'm glad to have made his life a lot more exciting. :)

You need some Terry Pratchett in your life - attending a grandma's funeral was a valid excuse of getting a free day or two every year in the Ankh-Morpork City Watch ;^)

Anyway, Thrym doesn't mind if we end up beating the truth out of these people.

For my part, I was already figuring it was about 50/50 for someone taking a swing at this guy, if for no other reason than finding him annoying. But not gonna lie, I was a bit surprised that it ended up being the paladin. I expect your kind to have a higher tolerance for bureaucracy! :p

Vard has a lower tolerance for dishonesty. Also people not giving a crap about people murdering other people. He also got angry at the illusory sphinx.

I thought we thought it was a skinwalker? Or a doppleganger? Maybe a Rakshasa? Or one of those SPOILER REDACTED from the Season REDACTED Adventure in REGION REDACTED.

Not sure what the Red Slime is (hope it ain't a NES type Red Slime as those were to be fled from at Level 1) so I'm having Luk Luk try to figure out what it is using Arcana or simply how to harm its chemistry with Craft Alchemy.

I was trying to make Fain sound desperate to keep his new friends and his fellow villagers from killing each other. I wanted his anguish to be what makes the attempt successful, but if yelling in another language is going to spoil the roll against the warehouse workers then he will yell stop instead. Thrym's curse is the key here. Will he see Fain with his bow down and almost in tears and understand the meaning in his yell....

That's my problem. I liked games of that type. But when I was playing NEverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gates and Planescape Torment, there weren't better RPGs available.

Now, in the world of Skyrims and Fallouts not to mention some rather good MMORPGs, I wonder if a blast from the past like PF Kingmaker will still keep me interested. After all, I used to absolutely love Master of Orion games, but the recent remake didn't interest me at all.

Looks like we're stuck in another hallway. So time for another vote:

-Go to the shop
-Explore the tunnels

I would leave it up to Jenni if she wants to stay behind with the prisoners.

Three step plan after tying up the prisoners:
1) Lock Tunnel, with a crate.
2) Go to Shop
3) MAYHEM! Um, I mean profit.

Sounds good. Still think we need to guard the prisoners, though... Fain got in witout anyone seeing through a door, and if we all scoot away, another skulk could do the same. But splitting the group is not a good idea, particularly if the tunnels end up leading to some proper underground complex or something.

Yeah, the module seems pretty light on dropping healing potions. Technically, the shop didn't even have one. I just figured you were gonna need Jenni for this fight and it seemed like something the shop should have. I humbly suggest that the cure light wounds go to Alenka and Luk Luk. You could give be both potions and not revive me. Alenka and Luk Luk will benifit no matter how bad the rolls. If the game is over then I can take the time to heal. If there is still more fighting to happen then one more person with 3hp may not be helpful. I'm enjoying reading along and bow to whatever you all decide.

Assuming there is more fighting.

So, since this is close to wrapping up, I guess I will ask people if they would want to continue on in any form (with the same characters or new ones). I ask now, because it would effect how final vs. open to make the ending. No pressure of course. I would be fine with wrapping things up if that's what we decide. :)

I like this character and would definitely like to revisit him. There seems to be three concepts that have grown with the game that I could continue with: 1) He's a curious snoop - Fain wants to open unlabeled boxes and unmarked doors, he wants to know about other peoples business and that gets him into trouble. 2) He's the best horrible fighter in the world - I want to build on his halfling feats and play up on his clumsiness (bungling defence/desperate strike/high acrobatics). He has a low damage potential but could be very helpful in combat, especially when he starts learning skirmisher's tricks. 3) He loves to observe creatures of all sorts (especially animals and humans) and wants to write definitive journals on the wild world.

If asked he would leave Illsurian.

He would also love to have that handy haversack >:]

I also have other characters that would be nice to take out of the box and would be up for trying something new.

Since there is aren't a lot (any?) 2nd level modules, I was thinking of throwing a quick scenario into the mix, stripping out some of the ties to Pathfinder Society.
