Jamir finds a patch of ice or rock that the wind has swept clear of snow and drops his pack with a groan of relief. A mile back, he pulled his blanket out and has been walking with it wrapped around himself; now he pulls it tighter and shivers.
As Torvald staggers up behind him, Hamstring turns to the dwarf.
"Do - do - does that clay you are carrying really create heat? Or did I make all of that up?"
I, along with every other PC in the party, spent all of my first live PFS scenario fatigued. Did not like.

Torvald's beard has a strange half-circle of icicles below his mouth, where the snow melted from his breath ran down and re-froze. His cheeks and nose are bright red, and he looks miserable. Still, he does his best not to complain or slow the group down.
"It does, but I don't know how much we'll need to melt through to the ruins. Let's find some shelter, and then survey the site. Then we'll know how much of the clay we can spare for ourselves."

"The first thing that we should do is to set up some shelter to utilize as a base camp of sorts and have a place to warm up. Can you guys give me a hand?"
Jawhar will give the second potion to Torvald (channeling a second time) so that he can help out.
Survival: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
This is a perfect roll, as building a structure in a desert is completely different than building a structure on snow.
After looking around, Jawhar realizes that they have no way to build a structure of any kind.
Well, Torvald, it seems we will need to either use one of the bricks to warm up Jamir and hope for the best unless you know of a way to build a shelter that I am not aware of.

            Survival AA: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Jamir has no better idea of how to build a shelter on the tundra than Jawhar does, but he gestures helplessly at the snow drifts piled up against the monolith, with the vague idea that they might be used somehow.
If Torvald does not know what to do (rolls badly) Jamir says, shivering uncontrollably,
"Wha-what ab-about you, Craggark? Any buh-bright ideas, frostkin? If nuh-not, let's guh-get started duh-digging."
If Torvald, Craggark, or anyone else takes a shot at a survival check to build a shelter, Jamir's AA roll above should help.

Stubbornly waving off the potion, Torvald knocks some of the ice from his beard and crunches towards a larger drift, raising his voice to be heard over the wind.
"I've never actually done it myself, but I've read that digging out a hollow in the snow is surprisingly effective, once a body or three is in the space to warm it. Here, like this..." Survival: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
I imagine this would be sufficient to create a small crawlspace & 'cave' in one of the snowdrifts? Would probably take a few hours before Jamir & I are fully warm again, but then Jawhar can channel us back.

In that case, if dwarves were living here, where would they be most likely to set up the homes of their important people? As an outsider, I would assume they would probably expand on an existing cave. Is that right?"
After the rest of the party simply stare at him incredulously:

"I think we've found it!
Craggark grins grimly, and unwraps the cloth from just under his nose, looking at his comrades.
Oh s%##, Torvald and Jamir look taken with the frost. We've got to do something.
Avoiding speaking, Craggark pulls out his axe and begins digging at the snow with it near the monolith remains, attempting to aid the idea that Torvald had started to save the lives of his friends.

The entrance to Naldak’s Point lies beyond a collapsed archway. Several feet of ice have frozen over the once splendid foyer; those who look closely can still see the remains of chiseled stonework beyond the frozen wall, and a tunnel leading into the rocky mound.
Torvald's sets the entire stash of blackfire clay (knowing he'll need it all) in front of the frozen entrance and kneads the clay with his hands until it begins to produce warmth. Soon an abundance of warmth begins to issue forth from the stacked bricks of tar-like material. After about an hour both Torvald and Jamir begin to stop shivering as the ice continues to melt.
It looks like the clay has melted about half the ice. You say the Blackfire clay will last another hour Torvald? after Torvald nods yes, Faenethor continues to study the melting ice, cascading down in sheets of water, falling from the cliff face. Faenethor watches in fascination as the pools of water form around the clay yet, the substance still produces heat. Faenethor rubs his hands together in anticipation.Should't be long now!

A character who takes any nonlethal damage from cold or exposure is beset by frostbite or hypothermia (treat her as fatigued). These penalties end when the character recovers the nonlethal damage she took from the cold and exposure. According to non lethal heal rules you and Torvald have only recovered 1hp in the last hour. Also I need fort saves for the players who are digging the trench.

unless I missed a channel post somewhere. And unless I'm wrong healing non lethal has changed? Used to be in 3.5 that u heal even 1hp of non lethal and it all goes away when using magic or regenerate. Did they drop that rule because it appears they have. That would mean I need Jawhar to actually roll his healing channel he did early . If he healed less than 6hp he'd still be frostbit

You heal nonlethal damage at the rate of 1 hit point per hour per character level. When a spell or ability cures hit point damage, it also removes an equal amount of nonlethal damage. will amend Jawhar's statement he also received 1hp of rest hp assuming he did not start digging the trench with Craggark until the second hour

Jawhar will channel when they warm up. You are correct that I have to roll for the amount of damage.
Channel: 1d6 ⇒ 2
* 5 channels remain, might as well channel again
Channel: 1d6 ⇒ 2
* That will heal Jamir, not comfortable leaving Torvald uninjured when there is probably going to be a battle coming up. Does heat attract Remorhaz?
Channel: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Just noticed that I also need to roll the original Channel
Channel: 1d6 ⇒ 4
OK, my frostbite had been healed after the second channel. Guess I was walking around frostbit for a while but pretending to be healthy. Everyone has recovered now.
I still have 3 channels remaining.

ok by my count the first channel happened on the second hour of the march healing Jawhar 2 of th 6 total non lethal he had incurred at that point . Sometime during the third hour Torvald an Jamir both started showing symptoms of hypothermia with Jamir taking 4hp of non leathal and Torvald 6hp of non lethal. That means after an hour rest and another 2hp heal channel from Jawhar; that Jawhar still has 1hp of non lethal dmg Jamir still has 1hp of non lethal and Torvald has 3hp of non lethal and all of you are still fatigued. Please keep in mind fatigued rules and stages of exhaustion etc..that's why I'll need a fort save if you help dig the trench with Craggark. Two hours after activating the blackfire clay, the ice leading into the entrance of, the remnants of Nadlak's Point, is almost completely melted away. As the Blackfire clay cools, the water cascading off the roof and sides of the ice tomb begins to slow. A couple party members step forward with picks and hammers ready to break through the remaining few centimeters of ice. Haltani, however cations patience. Wait until the cold freezes the rest of the water, otherwise you risk getting wet again.
The group accepts her advice and stares silently at the remains of the Dwarven ruins, while the water begins to crystallize and harden. In those few moments of reflection, Jawhar turns to gaze out at the snow filled plateau behind them. A small snow flurry blows flakes throughout the open plain and smalls banks of snow and ice covered rocks occasionally rise, from the otherwise flat terrain. Jawhar blows out a long breath and begins to turn his attention back to the task at hand. Just then, he sees movement. It isn't much, but he's sure he saw it. A flash of something traveling toward the party. It's darting between a rock mound and a snow bank. There! There it is again! Jarhar voices his concern.
Tusk is standing next to Jawhar keeping watch. Did you see that? Jawhar points his finger near a large rock about 40ft away from the pair. Tusk looks intently in the direction Jawhar pointed. At first he sees only white. The snow moves in and out of his vision, as the flurry constantly shifts direction. Jawhar lets out a hiss and grabs at his scimitar. Then Tusk sees it. An over-sized pure white wolf, moving slowly toward the group, it's milky eyes fixed directly on the unawares Haltani.

There's someone, who would be very interested in what you're doing with these out-landers, Uliyara. The wolf seems to be addressing Haltani when he says Uliyara. You may have fooled your companions with your magic but, I've had your scent since the river. I know who you are lady Uliyara. Your aunt, Baroness Urgalaena, will pay much if I can deliver you to her. The wolf growls this without compassion or feeling.
The white wolf's hair seems to stand on end and he says forcefully. Release, the girl to me and I won't call the whole pack on you. Otherwise, I'll feast on your frozen sinew and bones and still collect my reward..

Craggark will forego the Combat Maneuver, and prior to employing his attack (using the previous roll), he will step up to F6 and call attention to Jamir - "Let's play 'Wolfie in the Middle'!"
His wide haymaker blow signalling his presence to the enemy, Craggark hopes his comrades can make use of the enemy's exposed flank.
This thing just emanates cold, worries Craggark as he readies a nasty surprise designed to REALLY get the wolf's attention.

Tusk withdraws his axe after dropping his worker tools as he moves forward, he will move straight forward 20 feet without getting in the way of his allies, if he can't move straight, he will go to the right to go around his allies. since you withdraw a weapon as part of a move action, not the entire move action itself
Then he will swing or ready to swing his axe when the wolf gets in melee. [dice=hit]3+1d20 [dice=dmg]1d12+3

Haltani looks at the combat going on and she observes Craggark approaching the wolf from the side. She observes Craggark wind up for a mighty right cross but, instinctively knows he will miss. Haltani, quickly utters a few arcane syllables to aid Craggark's blow.
Haltani cast Gallant Inspiration on Carrgark.
gallant inspiration: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8 added to Carrgack's attack roll; enabling him to hit the Winter Wolf. The wolf has taken 9hp damage. It's Jamir's turn (remember to roll a reflex save Jamir)

Woo-hoo! I thought for SURE that I had missed the beast with that blow.
Craggark thinks to look at his fist for a split-second before realising that the combat is still going.
7 points of damage - as rolled previously - and now in space F6
