The hare manages to evade the deadly talons double backing.
With another attempt Shaylin puts te hare out of it's misery.
"I wonder how you survived alone, if you need that long to catch dinner."
Walking over where the bird starts to rip the rodent apart Tauriell grabs the hare and guts it with a dagger. The entrails she leaves for Fluffy Puff. The hare is then skinned and bound o a stick.
After a small fire is built and lighted she puts the hare over the fire and after a while she enjoys her meal together with Fluffy Puff.
"It wasn't very professional how you killed that, but it tastes good anyway. Maye you are not completely useless."
"His huge dog just wanted to eat me like ice cream" Niamh points on Abomentolor "I'll take a breadstick please" Turning to Abomentolor she asks him "Do you think we should bring Oz something for breakfast?"
"Well Gwen, then I shall never stop, as you are beautiful and you should believe it." Jimmy says, leaning against her a bit more. "I'm a bit stuck with you leaning on me like this" Jimmy says with a grin, "Would you mind passing me some bread?"
With Jimmy putting more weight on her whith his leaning in she bows forward with a jerk to reach into the basket. She grabs a piece and turns back with a roguish grin holding it to Jimmy "Of course. Here you are." checking how he managed to hold his balance.
Abomentolor replies to Niamh "Yes, why not." and to the baker "Two more bread sticks please. And wrap them separately please."
Aneka Avertin wraps up three bread sticks and puts them on the counter. "Is there anyting else you'd like to have?"
"I don't want anything else thank you." Niamh answers.
"I would take a sweet pie if you have one" Abomentolor answers.
"Sure." leaving the counter through the door into the baking room she brings forth an apple pie with sugar icing. Showing it to the gnome she asks "Like that?"
"Yes, that's perfect" Abomentolor replies. "How much is that all together?"
"You can eat such a big pie?" Niamh asks in surprise "Or is it for your dog?"
"That would be a silver for the pie and six copper for the bread sticks" Aneka Avertin calculates.
Handing the baker a gold coin he replies to Niamh "I could eat it alone, but you can have some if you like. But the dog won't get pie, he lives on a diet of halfling lollies."
"Then you have to feed me a lot of pie that I'm sweet enough to be your dogs lollipop" she says with a grumpy tone in her voice.
"No, no. It's quite good, you're not made of candy. This way you'll last longer." Abomentolor jokes.
Turning to the baker he asks "Would you by chance know where I get something cheap to feed that dog, when I run out of halflings."
Handing the gnome four copper, and eight silver she replies "We have last days bread for half the price, but if your dog prefers meat, then you should try the meat market."
"You could also ask Tauriell." Niamh suggests
"What do you mean? If my dog might feed on her too?"
Turning back to the baker he asks "Where would I find this meat market?"
"It's down the road to the river, then left in the direction of the Sandpoint Bridge. It's the house directly behind the market place." Aneka Avertin explains.
"No, even if your dog would love to lick her too. But I mean you could ask Tauriell if she could give you something from her hunted meat." Niamh says grinning.
"Tauriell tries to earn money with her hunted meat. I don't think that this will be cheap"
And turning to the baker he says "Thank you very much." Grabbing the goods he hands one breadstick to Naimh. "Have a nice day."
He then leaves the Sandpoint Savories following the directions to the meat market.
"Thank you." Niamh says taking the breadstick and follows him to the market. "Would you tell me your dogs name now?" Niamh asks looking at the dog.
Walking down the street he asks Niamh "Why would you want to know?" Then turning south the market comes into sight. And the Rusty Dragon, right behind the first house. Which has a big sign reading 'Meat Market'. Abomentolor facepalms himself.
Full of irony Abomentolor states "Well, I've never seen that house. They must have built it in the last 20 minutes."
"Of course they are waiting until are away" Niamh says siccous. "It's a new travelling companion and I prefer knowing with whom I wayfare."
"May I introduce you. Huge dog this is Niamh. Niamh this is huge dog" Abomentolor states with a serious face.
"You're pulling my leg! I can't see what's funny on pulling my leg!" Niamh says with an offended look.
"You're annoying. I call the dog Marcus Brutus. You're happy now?" Abomentolor says.
Niamh's face brightens up and gets a triumphant expression "Yes, now I'm happy. So happy that I can overlook you called me annoying."
"Huge dog, follow me." Abomentolor approaches the meat market. Entering the shop he asks "Do you sell something I could feed my dog with? Something cheap?" ignoring the three customers that already were in before him.
Not caring what he is called, Marcus Brutus follows the gnome into the shop which is like dogs heaven with all these sausages and meat hanging at the walls and lying on display.
Niamh bumps Abomentolor in his side saying "This isn't polite."
Some of the customers look a bit worried about that huge animal and Chod Bevuk fears, that this insolent gnome might not be able to hold the dog back if it decides to go for the goods.
"Take your dog out of here and wait for me at the back of the house. I'll bring you some dogfood."
"Make it quick. Before I get bored behind your house and have to think of something to entertain myself." the unspoken threat clear to anyone knowing Abomentolor.
With a firm pull on the leash Abomentolor rudely wakes Brutus from his daydream of sausages flying into his mouth.
Brutus follows the gnome unwillingly outside and around the house.
As the door closes behind them Abomentolor explains to Niamh "Polite is for loosers. If you are big and strong like Jimmy, you could try polite. Or maybe you as a cute woman can get what you want with blinking your eyes. But I tried polite. Nobody takes you serious if you are polite."
He then makes a grumpy face while he waits for the butcher.
After a few moments Chod Bevuk opens the door, holds out a bloody sack full of innards and asks "Six copper for the content and an additional silver for the sack."
Not willing to pay a silver for that disgusting sack he explains "I dont need the sack. Here are your six copper." handing the coins to the butcher.
Jimmy falls onto his side as Gwen jerks forward. He lies there smiling at Gwen and takes the bread she offers. "Thank you".
Bagging the coins Chod Bevuk just empties the sack at the feet of the gnome and walks back in, closing the door.
Whimpering Brutus looks at the bloody pile.
"Stop whimpering already and eat it. I won't carry it home for you." Abomentolor tells the dog.
Brutus inhales the 10lbs of food in less than a minute. He ends his meal with a heartfelt burp.
"Well, lets go and take our breakfast together with Oz."
Abomentolor leads the way to the Rusty Dragon, where he seats himself and places the pie and the breadsticks on the table. They then enjoy the meal together.
Sliding a bit forward Gwenhwyfar lies back and uses Jimmy's belly as a pillow for her head. "You're welcome."
Jimmy munches his bread while running his fingers through Gwen's hair, "You know, I've never seen someone with eyes like yours before."
"What do you mean with that?" Gwenhwyfar inquires as there was no 'beautiful' in the sentence.
"They are unique, and you told me to stop calling you beautiful so I had to describe them some other way"
