"It puzzles you? My lord and the others are nobles, or at least very close. I have no idea what the others still alive will do with the land if they get it, and again, I have been told not to say anything about my lord's plans." He seems distracted for a moment. "He will care for the children temporarily after the building is torn down.[/smaller]"
"Nobility has nothing to do with it, unless you mean they will add it to their list of possessions, and then think nothing more on it. I appreciate all the assistance you have rendered Sir LeaGallow, but it appears the answers I seek, you cannot give. Please convey to your master my desire for a meeting. My STRONG desire. Perhaps we can work out an arrangement that will sees the children safe, Keiyanna cleared, and the final disposition of the house settled. Please extend my greetings, as Lord Joss' court Seer, to your Master."
With that, Basha gives a curt bow and walks back to Kenna.

Sorry for the wait. You know, I'm surprised neither of you asked why the house was magicked to look black instead of red.
As Basha and Eadric begin their trip to their meeting with the Sheriff, they spot Lydinia a split second after she spots them.
"Brothers, I think I know why there is so much fuss being made over the orphanage! When it was being built years ago, it was discovered that a ley line ran through it, and that it caused dormant magic to wake up in people."
Db3's Narrator
Sorry Basha, but neither of those skills would work. Arcana and Nature would be the Knowledge skills for this. I see you also do not have Knowledge(Nature)! ;) Do I want to know what FFS means?
"From what Azharten and I were told, ley lines are veins of naturally occurring magic." She says as she leans in to keep the conversation as private as possible. "One happens to go through the orphanage, where a extraplanar being was 'asked' by someone to protect the children. If what the dwarf said was true, and the line awakens magic.. one of the children may be behind the murders." She whispers grimly.
Azharten
Damn... guess its time to return to Orphanage. Maybe I can spot something good along the way..like finding something to kill elf hehe Azharten speaks to himself and mutters the last words to himself.
Turning and moving down towards the Orphanage, Azharten looks aroud and ponders everything, what has happened recently in this town. Thinking of something else, idea comes to his mind. Wandering now in the streets and crossing from place to place just to see how the time has affected around and things looks like.

For F$%Ks Sake :)
"One of the CHILDREN?!?!?! Unless it is a case of possession, that seems highly unlikely. All the same, it may not be a bad idea to chase this idea of Ley Lines down."
Know:Local 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24- I need a library of arcana :)

Obviously not Monday night..
Azhatern
It seems that very little has changed since your were last in the city, and you even recognize a few people. Another thing you notice is a small, cloaked figure keeping pace with you on the other side of the street..
Not the same one that was following Eadric and Basha
[ooc]Eadric & Basha[/ooc
"Good luck with the Sheriff." Lydinia says. "I'd join you, but I have to go find the other person who used to be under Keiyanna's care. I should be back by dinner." As she leaves, Eadric again notices a small, cloaked figure. This time, it is quite obvious they are being watched...
Azharten
Going around and not paying attention to small guy, Azharten never had any desire to look at someone, he realised that it was almost the same when he had left the town.
After some time, the man was still moving with him and now he got annoyed. He never was popular and for hell sure he never had gotten some damn kid follow him. Thinking of scaring him, Azharten turns to one of alleys and move through it to another side, but slip fast against left side of wall.
Waiting to hear footsteps, Azharten ready himself to jump and scare the child.
Intimidate 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 and Perception 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Whenever you are ready to proceed DB3... just say the word! :)
I am eagerly awaiting the fresh meat...er... I mean new recruits joining our little mystery adventure! ;)
And just to refresh for Basha's sake... ;)
Eadric says his goodbyes to Lydinia and watches her walk off before catching Basha's eye, and as secretly as he can, remarks, It seems we have someone following us. Should we confront them? Perhaps you have a spell that would give us the advantage?
Basha Taal
Basha takes a glance at the furtive follower. "Hm, Eadric, if I can circle around behind our little friend, do you think you can grab them? I'm tired of everyone knowing who we are, but not returning the favor."
Basha casts Expeditious Retreat on himself, and then moves to flank the cloaked critter.

I am ready to go, too. Any chance I could get a little info without spoilers that I wouldn't know? I avoided reading the play for that reason. Also, I gave the gist of my background, but am leaving it open in case any other players want to have known or heard of me in the past.
All of us characters were orphans in the care of an elven woman named Keiyanna. Currently we are all grown up and were off leading our lives as adults. Recently, all of us have been "notified" (one way or another) that Keiyanna has been accused of murdering various town members who have taken steps to close the orphanage where we all grew up. We have returned to town to attempt to solve the mystery of the murders, the reason as to why the orphanage is to be closed and clear Keiyanna's name. All of us characters knew each other as kids, but none of us kept in touch after we left the orphanage. DB3 can add anything I have overlooked, but that should get you started. We are currently proceeding with investigating and questioning the involved parties. We can role play that part when your character arrives in town, late. :) (Or however DB3 will introduce you)
EDIT: PS You should also level up to 2nd. :)

Sorry everyone, things get hectic for me sometimes, and I got snowed in, so.. moving on.
On the backgrounds: I opened up the tie-in portion so you wouldn't have to be 'late' and could already be in town.
On the small person catching: Remember when you caught a lizard? Same thing applies here: CMB checks to Grapple.
Db3's Narrator
Azharten, what are you doing now?
Beckett
You get a few side-long glances as you walk through the city, so you know some people recognize you.
I know how I'm introducing you to the rest of the group. Roll a Perception check.
Lumi, with your background I'm going to place you in the part of town with temples.
A young girl approaches you, followed by two more younger boys, one of which has a cut on his arm.
"Um.. Miss? You wouldn't happen to be a healer with a spare bandage, would you? Gareth wasn't watching were he was going and he tripped, landing on a sharp rock."
Db3's Narrator
I was asking more to whether you wanted perception rolls, init rolls, etc and such...
But you can't make Perception checks to see the inside of your eyelids! Nah no other rolls. Splitting up and crossing the street is something people do, so there is no suspicion. It also helps that only one of you was assigned a follower.
Eadric Cuthwulf II
Eadric may not be able to make perception checks but I thought maybe the little person might be able to...
And since you brought it up... can we tell who specifically the little person is following?
Eadric, seeing Basha in position, makes his move to grab the little person...
Attack (grapple): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Don't you know it isn't polite to follow someone?
Db3's Narrator
Somehow, I don't think it matters now..
The person puts up a struggle, but after a few moments of failing to break free, goes limp and suddenly the only thing keeping him/her up is the Eadric. The person stays silent.
He/She is still alive, just trying to get Eadric to let go by becoming dead weight.
Edit: And I have to go guys, sorry. If I don't get snowed in tomorrow I should be able to post in the morning.
